So what is the consensus on the SB Orc?
Love it? Hate it?
How does it compare to the Champ and/or Dx versions?
Durability of Specail Blend compared to Champ/Star plastic?
What are you using it for?
Thanks.

beautiful disc. slightly more stable than the Champ and breaks in much more gradually. I use it when i want strong D and there's a little too much wind for a regular Champ Orc or when i want to throw hard without as much worry of it flipping. i also like the Star (aka: SB) plastic better when it is wet out because of the added grip it brings me.
well.... I dunno if there were more than one run of these, but let me state what I know and have thrown.
When the SB came out, disc was very flat and razor blade like. Great in winds.
After a few months, a friend got one and it was domey compared to the first SB i threw. Compared them and sure enough, second one was domey. That thing is over stable. Loved it.

I have found that there are clear champion orcs with a slight dome which are stable for mre, the swirl solid color orcs are understable and the special blend is in between.

My SB is great in the wind. I'll throw it into a headwind with hyzer and watch it do its work. People think I'm crazy throwing it into a moderate headwind... its a great psyche out... they'll throw their champion orcs, and it's flip city!
Love the SB orc..

flip city!
Great course! (http://www.pdga.com/course/courses_by_city.php?id=442)
Im sure you could find some of the first run SB orcs, but Im not sure how you could tell other than ask if it was domey or flat. Like I said, the thin first runs are wind resistant, but still fly like an orc, the second run domey orcs are just over stable. No way around it. Only way to make a champion orc fly like a special blend is to let the plastic sit on a hot car for about 4 hours, bend the disc like your tuning an aerobie epic, and then when you have it tuned like you want, dunk it in ice water to harden it in that shape. Actually, works in general for any disc that needs to be re-tuned as overstable unless you want a really understable disc made with new plastic.
