No, the rest of the site won't be affected. And in the future, since the message board will be on its own server, problems with it won't affect the home page, online stats, etc.

i hope we go a full day without a major blowup ... the crashes of the last couple days have been unexpected considering we're on a new server.

Indeed! It was shortly after I 'suggested' a Star Comet (GULP!) on the "Ask Dave" thread...when all cyber~hell broke loose. :o
