to any of the players that ever played in any of the tournaments i ran in florida from 1996 to the 2002 am worlds and who saw/met my mother(who ALWAYS showed up during at least one of the days of the event).....
this is to let all of you know that she passed away peacefully on 6/6/06 at 10:26 pm
she was always there to encourage the players she knew or the "big" stars that came to the events and to lend a hand to me doing something for the event(such as helping package ALL 400 players packs for am worlds) because she wanted to do something to support what her son ENJOYED doing....
during her last day after i arrived in miami to see her i told her that i would honor her wishes conveyed to me in a phone conversation 3 weeks earlier about the few places to scatter my share of her remains(including kendall indian hammocks park disc golf course where i ran my first tournament)
i just wanted to let everyone know that as much as a basstard as i am to disc golfers, mom still saw the "human" in me for all the charity donations i raised or gave myself in and out of disc golf my whole life and which i will continue to do for the rest of my life...and hope my daughter will continue to do for her life as well.
i also told her i was dedicating the worlds to her and would do my best to play well and make her proud
sorry to see you go mom but at last you get to "rest"
love,
your oldest son
