to any of the players that ever played in any of the tournaments i ran in florida from 1996 to the 2002 am worlds and who saw/met my mother(who ALWAYS showed up during at least one of the days of the event).....

this is to let all of you know that she passed away peacefully on 6/6/06 at 10:26 pm

she was always there to encourage the players she knew or the "big" stars that came to the events and to lend a hand to me doing something for the event(such as helping package ALL 400 players packs for am worlds) because she wanted to do something to support what her son ENJOYED doing....

during her last day after i arrived in miami to see her i told her that i would honor her wishes conveyed to me in a phone conversation 3 weeks earlier about the few places to scatter my share of her remains(including kendall indian hammocks park disc golf course where i ran my first tournament)

i just wanted to let everyone know that as much as a basstard as i am to disc golfers, mom still saw the "human" in me for all the charity donations i raised or gave myself in and out of disc golf my whole life and which i will continue to do for the rest of my life...and hope my daughter will continue to do for her life as well.

i also told her i was dedicating the worlds to her and would do my best to play well and make her proud

sorry to see you go mom but at last you get to "rest"

love,
your oldest son

Very sorry to read of your loss Keith. Your mom sounds like a wonderful and supportive parent.

The torch has been passed, and the it sounds like the greatest respect you can pay her is to continue being supportive of Lorelei (SP?) as she matures and in her endeavors.

(...and I don't believe for a minute that you are a bastard just because you're vocal and opinionated! :D)

Peace to you and yours Keith.

this was written to my arizona disc golfers and i thought i would share it here also...
part in blue below is written tonight...

thanks to everyone who sent me emails about my mom....

i am a changed person playing now....
life is too short to be angry about stuff that is really meaningless in the scheme of things....

it's really just a game when all is said and done that we are playing...

my mom would often tell me just that thought....
"it's just a game, stop treating it like the end of the world"

i told her i would do just that and i intend to stick to it for as long as i continue to play....

WEd night at doubles when i played for the first time since she passed, people wondered who was in my clothes when i made bad throws,as i just let them go...
my partner and i shot 13 down and won on the 6th playoff hole after getting 12 straight 2's....

i like this new relaxed playing....competitive but calm.....

good luck to everyone out there and maybe i'll see you somewhere in the future

keith

then today(FATHER'S DAY!) i played again at a 27 hole course near my home and threw 1(one)good drive out of 27 holes.....BUT that one good drive went in the basket for an ACE!!! which was worth 88 bucks...lost in a playoff for first and didn't get #$*&$! off once....

2 rounds...2 calm rounds.....2 good endings....
so far so good!

thanks again for everyone's well wishes and thoughts
