It was enjoyable playing the first round with McCoy, but the dude could have told me on the 1st few holes what I was doing wrong with my putt instead of waiting until the 2nd to last hole. jk. Thanks for the help man, I apprieciate it, and I made some big putts later in the tournament. (I also missed a few easy ones too, hence the 46th place finish :o)
It was a blast, basically the whole tournament I had to watch Devan from the card ahead of me. That kid can huck, but he may want to consider learning how to lay up. Going "down-under" and flying down the hills at Waterworks must be rough, he probably could have won if he laid up.
Looking forward to competing head to head with the kid in the distance contest, looks like Billy is a chicken, he hasn't gotten a paper route to earn some dough for his Worlds.
Just a few more weeks!

On the way home, Devan told me he was going for everything cuz he had nothing to lose. He had already decided he would decline cash.

I was in the same situation as Devon, but I still wanted to play good golf. He whooped me at Blue Valley, but taking a circle six on an easy duece hole (he saw me blow that one up) can really take a mental toll on the round.
My buddy made fun of me for laying up a 40ft putt on #18 of Blue Valley, but I was looking at trying to save par and if I missed on this sloped green I would have ended up way over.
Looking at the Tulsa courses online, I don't think the upshot problem I had this weekend will happen at Worlds.
I would have stayed for the Awards, but since no one in my car cashed and we had a 12 hour drive left, we headed out as soon as we finished. See you all in Tulsa!

Devon...but taking a circle six on an easy duece hole can really take a mental toll on the round.
This begs the question:
What's the shortest hole where someone scored a 6?
Devan and I sixxed a 168 foot hole at Am World Dubs for a whopping progression of 28 feet per shot.

I have actually taken a circle 6 on an duece hole twice, but the one I was not referencing was a wooded hole with an OB creek.
The one I was referencing was the down hill 750ft #7 at Blue Valley.
I am calling it a duece hole because in practice I was only about 100ft short off the tee box. But during the tournament round I turned the disc over and sailed across the street. I would have had a circle 5, but I missed my 6ft putt "Barry Style". Devon probably rolled over laughing when he saw that doinked putt. My buddy who I was on my card at the time said after I let go of the putt knowing that it was too short, I reached out trying to catch it. :(
Oh well, but then I birdied (4) the monster dogleg #9 right after that.
