I am going to Corbin KY to visit family. I have never been there before and would like to play a course or two! I looked in the course directory it said Pulaski County Park is the closet to Corbin, but I was wondering on directions from Corbin to Polaski park. Are there any courses that are not yet listed closer? Thanks in advance!

Nothing that I am aware of. That is a lonely part of KY for disc golf.
If you're driving in, try some of the other parts of the state. A lot of different kinds of courses.
Also, here are directions that were posted on the Cincinnati web site a few weeks ago. Enjoy.
ok take hwy 27 to somerset. then take 80 west.. after a light take the left going towards nancy. then take that for a while and you'll see a y on your right and a sign for pulaski co. park.take that right go to the bottom of the hill for the bottom course.

those directions are from Cincinnati not Corbin. I was woundering if there was a quicker way to get there from Corbin than what mapquest says that takes you through London then to somerset. PDGA directory says it only 30 mile to the park from Corbin mapquest's directions are 54.4 mile!
Well... I grew up in Somerset KY! I think I can give you directions /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
These directions might be a little long winded - but if you are not familiar with the area it will definetly help!
The best way to get to Pulaski County Park from Corbin is to get on I-75 North and go a few miles (maybe 5 miles) and get off at the London KY exit. There are two London KY exits (I believe you want to take the 2nd exit). Once in London you get on Highway 80 going West towards Somerset. You will stay on this road for maybe 20 miles.
Once you are in Somerset you will come to the intersection of Highway 27 (you will pass a Kroger's on your right about 1 mile before this intersection). When you get to Highway 27, take a left. You will want to be in the far right lane. You will take a right at the very next light (maybe 500 feet). This will put you on back on Highway 80.
Now you will drive for about 10 more miles on Highway 80. You will go over a birdge that goes over the lake. A little further up the road you will see a small church on the right. This church is easy to miss, so keep your eyes open! You will take a right just past the church - (I think it is called Todd road) this road will go about 1/2 a mile and then you will take a right. Now you will follow this windy road down an extremely step hill (go slow). Once you get to the bottom of the hill you will be at Pulaski County Park. You will see that the road splits when you get to the bottom of the hill - you can go straight or hang a left. You want to take the turn to the left. Drive up to where you see the pavilion on your left. This is where you park. Hole #1 is close to the road.
THE COURSES:
The course at the bottom of the hill has a lot of varied terrain. There is lots of elevation change and thick rough. The course layout can be hard to follow, but it is a great course to play if you have the patience to figure it out. Be sure to bring bug spray!
The second course is at the top of hill. It will be on your left if you are driving back the way you came. It is small gravel road at the very top of the hill. The front nine of this course is not that challenging, but the back nine is extremely challenging. There will be a cliff that drops off some 300 or 400 feet on many of the holes. If your disc goes down the cliff, say goodbye.
If you see any of the locals out playing, ask if you can join up with them. The courses can be hard to follow if you have never played it. Also, just 1 hour North of Corbin, KY is Lexington, KY! There are two really nice courses up in Lexington if you want to make the drive. If you do come up to Lexington I would be glad to show you around! good luck.

Thanks that will be a big help I am sure. Do they have a club web site I was looking earlier but found nothing. I would also like some pictures if possible.
sorry man - no pictures. Unfortunately there isn't a disc golf club in Somerset any more. The guy that used to be in charge of the club stole all the discs and money from the club and ran off... There used to be tournaments there every year but now there is nothing. Unfortunately the courses are not kept up all that well these days. The park crew does a good job of mowing, but there is no one to trim the fairways etc - so it can be pretty rough sometimes.
Both of the courses are still worth playing - and they are both challenging. The bottom course has a lot of variety and elevation change - it is a very fun course to play. The thing that sucks is that it is hard to find your way around the course - I don't remember if there is map of the course, but there may be one by the shelter where you would park. I know the top course has a map, and it is quite a bit easier to follow.
If you have an entire day to play disc golf I would recommend making the drive to Lexington, KY.. or even better yet - Bowling Green, KY (which is about 2 hours from Corbin).

How far is the drive from corbin to somerset? I am going to visit family like I said but I can maybe get away with stay gone for half the day, my wife is 5 month pregnant so the longer I am away the worse off I am. Just kidding but it is my vacation and fathers day weekend so I am lucky to get away with that!
Hmm, I'm not sure how long the drive would be. I'm guessing close to 40 mins.
