Well, I know this isn't what a humble person would do, but who am I kidding?

I, to the best of my knowledge, hit the first three (3) on hole number sixteen at Blackhawk! :)

I would also like to report what would have been a new course record round of 53 at Blackhawk. I say would have been due to a number of fisher(persons) on hole 8. Instead of throwing around the people we skipped the hole. Turned out to be a bad move on our part(s).

Great round Dale Patterson!

It was great to throw with Dale, and Big Dave, not to mention The REAL World Champion, and my legal representation, Dr. Doom. As well as my dad, Mr. Michael "That's What I Do!" Treat! :D

Not true. He was there and said that he had never hit it...

His shot was right next to mine down by the basket. Except his was for bogey and mine was for par.....and he missed and I made it.... :D

But 100% sure, Dale has not hit it. He stood about ten feet to my left as I rang a long putt.

I believe it was a tie at +13 for both of us. The only thing you won was the ratings game against me but as for score it was a straight up tie.

But since your up for pictures, here is kind of what you looked like after we made you re-tee for the third time. :D

Elaborate on the OB. Cause I just want to know how we are going to play it IN WORLDS! So that I can add that into my tactical equation.

Its my understnading that in worlds there will be a drop zone and no matter where you go in, you will throw from the drop zone.

For casual rounds played utill the drop zone is established; pdga rule states that if the disc is ob you throw from where it went in.

It matters not if the disc is found. The OB rule trumps the lost disc rule and you should not have to re-tee if you throw in the water.

If you read 803.09.A, OB clearly is decided prior to consideration of "lost". The first part defines the requirement for OB. The second part explains how the situation is handled if the first part is not true.

Quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

...In order to consider the disc as out-of-bounds, there must be reasonable evidence that the disc came to rest within the out-of-bounds area. In the absence of such evidence, the disc will be considered lost and the player will proceed according to rule 803.11B.

In other words the OB rule has hierarchy,
and is applied first,

If it is uncertain whether OB or not,
then the lost disc rule is applied
That is how I have understood it.

So basically If you know it went in the water
on holes #8, 9, 10,
Then you play the last place it cross in bounds.
Just as we were discussing the other day RED.
:D

feelfroggie8
May 29 2006, 09:14 AM
that is exactly what I said both days we were out there
and if these are the rules then why put a drop zone the only place a drop zone is needed is on #8 where you almost have to throw directly over the waters edge.

twoputtok
May 29 2006, 09:40 AM
The drop zone will eliminate any need for a group to make a decision as to where the disc last crossed an ob line. It makes it a no brainer. If you're wet, go to the drop zone.
It's that simple and it will eliminate any discussion or argument within the group. ;)

Congrats to Joel Woody yesterday. The man hit all his lines and made his putts. The few times he got in trouble, he pitched out and made the next shot count. I think he shot a +7 or +8 but he was a +2 with about three or four holes to go.

Nice round Woody!

In certain OB areas the TD can designate drop zone in special situations.
In this situation speed of play thru this area during worlds will be a problem
If we make everyone retee everytime they throw it in the water and not make land.
Or if it is uncertain (which it may be at times) due to the steep banks to tell whether it touched land before falling back in the water.

I squared the chains and got spit on my 300' 3rd shot on hole 14 (i think it's 14...the 1st wide open hole about 950'). It would be hard to match a 3 on that hole. Definately a fairway ace that hit the pole a came out. :(

Ok, we now have 16 pads poured on Black Hawk and the bridge is now installed across the creek from hole 9 to hole 10. :D
Thanks to Brad Von Aschen, Chris Wagel Thong Le, Aaron Swygert for working on the bridge yesterday. Wagel will be out there this evening finishing fastening donwn the planks on the bridge if anyone can help.

Also for tonight, we will be removing the few forms that are left, taking apart the forms and stacking them at the country store. We need a truck that can haul dirt so that we can back fill around all of the tees to prevent twisted ankles. For those that are at risk with poison ivy, you can still work the dirt on the tee pads, all of the ivy should be gone in those areas.

Every night this week we will be at Mohawk after work preparing for the next concrete pour on Friday June 9th. We will be pouring the red course with any extra going to the alternates on the Black course. Then on Friday the 16th we should be able to finish all of the concrete at Mohawk.

For the pour on the 9th, we will need several volunteers, (wives, friends, children, players) any one that can watch a tee pad after we finish it so that no one can destroy what we have worked so hard on. ;) We will also need any volunteers that can be out there Friday at 7:30am for the entire day. We need at least 12 people to get this job done. The more people there are to help the quicker it will go.

We are almost there on Mohawk, just two to three more weekends of work and the course will be ready. The tee signs should be shipping this week. When they arrive we will rent an auger and sink all of the holes, the signs can be installed every evening by two or three people.

If you can help with any of this, please let me know here or call me at 918-232-8562.

Almost forgot.

A HUGE thanks to all that worked their butts off on Friday pouring concrete. While we may have had a slight set back in the morning pour we made up for it in the afternoon.
