Did anybody tried out any prototypes of the new Oracle from Ching?

Is it a midrange disc that is really stable???

If so, then yes and it is one of the sweetest midrange discs I have ever thrown. Holgate was kind enough to send me one proto(assuming we are talking about the same disc) in a supreme like plastic, although it seems much much stiffer than the veloticy and juju supreme plastics. When he shipped it to me I dont think a name had been given to the disc as of that time. Anyway,I have let a bunch of my fellow DG friends throw it around a bit for a review, I have yet to hand it to someone who didnt like throwing it  Everyone that has thrown it loves how it flies and how stable it is!!!

Thanks Holgate for sending me a proto and keep up the great work :D

How stable?

Are we talking drone stable?

Because if so.. I'll take it! The Drone beats up too **** fast!

Really stable out of the box!!! I have never thrown a drone, so not sure how the two compare to eachother. When I first got it, I could not get it to flip over at all no matter how much snap I put on it. Now that it has seen a good 10-12 rounds, with heavy usage during those rounds, it will flip slightly into a headwind, or if I give it a fair amount of anny I can get it to flip. But it just holds the line you give it and it just seems to float through the air forever :D

Anyone know if we are all talking about the same disc??

I am sure we are, as far as I know Ching is just working on midrange at the moment. It is suppose o be stable.

I've had the opportunity to throw the proto that Dr. Dye has. Lovely disc. Very predictable flight path. If there are any more protos that need to be test thrown for further analysis I'd be happy to do so :D

What does the rim look like?

Is it more like a gator or a drone?

If it is more like a drone, I know I would love one if the plastic is more durable.

Here is a link to a couple pics of the proto I have... rim view (http://www.drdyed.com/gallery/drdye/CHING_Oracle?full=1) and top view (http://www.drdyed.com/gallery/drdye/CHING_Oracle_1?full=1)

For a smaller pic just click on the pic and it will go to a smaller size. Oh, and then go to the 1st page of my gallery and check out the new discs I just dyed for Marshall Street :D

I am pretty sure Holgate said there was going to be some contours on the top of the disc, but not the same pattern as the Juju or Velocity.

Also, the pic doesn't really show it but the under side of the disc where the flight plate meets the rim, it is rounded and fits the tip of my index finger and pinky nicely for my power grip throwing style :D(I throw about a 350-375 golf throw and maybe a bit over 400 on a distance line with a driver) I can put this disc about 315-330 on the same distance line as a driver!!! My buddie Myk(with his noodle arm :o) and I were throwing a few discs back and forth. A QK(1st time he had thrown one), a light orc, and a star wraith. His noodle arm was throwing all of the drivers about the same distance, prolly around 325-340, with the CHING proto just about 10 feet behind every time.

This disc can really hold some snap

David Jr. and I had the opportunity to throw "proto" Oracle's in the "fusion" and "supreme" plastic. Proto means that the disc top is smooth with no "contours". Here is a copy of the comments we sent to Holgate:

"In a word, SWEET! First off, the production quality jumps out - very polished appearing and smooth. I especially like the smooth and rounded inside rim. It is very comfortable in the hand. The Fusion plastic has an excellent grippiness. The supreme reminds me a lot of the Z-Buzz. Both discs fly very straight with good high speed stability and not much low speed fade, again like the buzz, or perhaps a Super Roc (which has poorer high speed stability). Distance is good, comparable to other mid ranges, but the flight pattern is more important for a midrange and excellent as I noted above. Have not thrown it enough to test durability. Fusion landed inadvertently in a paved lot (David Jr. !!!) a few scratches, but nothing very deep came right out with sand paper..

Overall, I am not exaggerating in saying I think this will be the best received of any of your original discs so far. Design is traditional which will not put off those too nervous about making a bad throw (while learning) with a visibly unusual disc. Adding the bladed profile later is a great idea I think as then it will be a modification of a known quantity to players and not something radically different and therefore risky. Quality is obvious in the look and feel... Flight pattern is just what David and I look for in mid range - high speed stable, minimum low speed fade. Also seems to hold anhyser line quite well - Reminds me a lot of Z-Buzz with perhaps even a bit less low speed fade.

Hope this helps!!
