Who would you like to see sponsor disc golf as the sport expands?
This topic is meant for us to get together, think outside the box, and use this discussion board for networking.

I would like to see the Sanford Company get involved in Disc Golf....Sanford makes SHARPIES!!!! Everyone uses sharpies in this sport.
I've been working with Volkswagon to sponsor local tournaments and disc golf events. They already sponsor atheletes and programs like mountain biking via TREK Bikes.

Who else would be a good company to get with for sponsorships. Be creative, you never know, someone might know someone that might get us a little closer to where everyone that plays this sport wants to be!!

Even if it is a long shot, you never know. Lets hear your ideas!

Gatorade. They could show an ad with highlights of Justin Bunnell playing Idlewild. Not sure if Justin drinks Gatorade though...

Yeah he sure does. I would like to see Monster get into the DG scene a little more because I can never get enough of that stuff.

I see more players chugging PowerAid than Gatorade due to the price difference. Does anyone know if Powerade has any sponsorships out there? And I don't want to hear about nascar, it doesn't count considering the amount of ads they have per car.

What about the smaller companies? Trying to convince coke or pepsi to be sponsors is alittle high on the list now. With growth, they might be viable options, but for water, maybe Gordon Water Services, Britta, Ice Mountain, Evian...etc.

Keep the ideas coming. Of course we all use toilet paper, but what the f does charmin have to do with disc golf? Does your game have the runs?

Vitamin Water, Baby. They already are the best outside sponsor in disc golf. Just look at MSDGC!

Great topic. This is the exact reason that DGTV was created.
Now, instead of just 90 or 200 players seeing a tee sign or a banner, there is actually a reason for companies to get involved. 10,000 people per week are viewing DGTV and sponsors are loving it. VitaminWater is one of them. They could not belive the response that they recieved from us showcasing them.
We just (today) landed a local favorite beer company to sponsor the Majestic, and the fact that now they will be seen by more than the players was the main selling point. Please all you "dreamers" no longer dream, hit them up, use DGTV as a promotional tool and make it happen.
Stay tuned for a major announcement from DGTV in the next 24 hours. Yeah BABY!!!!!!!

Some sponsors that I think would be a good match (potentially) for sponsoring Disc Golf events (more so than sponsoring players):

<ul type="square"> Subaru cars Gatorade any of the serveral large insurance companies Taco Bell Dell (at least for Texas tournaments) Under Armor Merrill shoes
From a pure "fantasy" perspective at this point:

<ul type="square"> EA Sports Nike Toyota Sony
Big Sky Brewing in MT sponsors most of the tournaments here in CO with a "case for an ace" donation. This has been made possible by a local rep for Big Sky who happens to be a disc golfer.

Mitch Sonderfan is currently working for the Crocs shoe company and has discussed trying to get them to sponsor some tournaments. Crocs are perfect between round shoes. They are currently the title sponsor of the "Crocs Tour" in beach volleyball, and really, it's not a huge step then to disc golf, right? :)

Has anybody thought to ask ***** Sporting Goods? They actually carry Innova Discs... at least at all of the stores I've checked out around NorthWest Ohio. So either at least our individual stores like stocking them, or the chain has somebody at the top that likes disc golf!

Why not look into getting ***** Sporting Goods as a sponsor for some huge tournaments?
