the Spurs won game 4, and went on to win the series with the evil Mavs. And the Lord did grin, and the people did sing. And then a dark cloud formed over hole 10, and a fierce downpour caused a giant wave to wash the troll from his dwelling under the bridge, and...

Only to be found by the weary one looking for his roller in the water on #8. The two of them now have begun to plot the revenge of the golden disc by...

.....by rolling Live Oakers into the water behind #8. Starting with the Gecko then TX-BBQ then the Chinger. The only one not to be rolled in the water behind 8 will be.....

Frost because he himself will be in the water swiming and bathing with the trolls all muddy... Thinking of....

. . . what kind of disc he feels under his foot. He carefully picks up the disc with his toes, slowly brings it to the surface, washes off the mud, and realize he has just found. . .

They didnt know what to do until Gatorputt mumbled something about being hungry. So the mob descended on the unnamed taco joint on Pat Booker and feasted on tacos, and became ill. All of them. Violently ill. And the Pros and the Cons stopped fighting and the Ams pleaded with Yoda to break the spell and cast out the taco demons, and so...

Yoda told them "He was "sick" of hearing them "belly ache" and to feel better they needed to go play a round of 27 holes and that they should not worry about the golden disc, cause he had already cashed it in at the nearest pawn shop. He said the force was with them and....

with a twitch of his cute little ears, all the rocks were removed from the fairways, the grass was mowed, low hanging branches were removed, Chewbacca (Chinger) was clean shaven and looked like.......

a pregnant, 6 foot, four inch Phyliss Diller on a bad hair day, after a long night out with......

"El Chile" and upon their return, it was known by all that there was bad breath between Chewbacca and El Chile and El Chile told him there was not enough room for the both of them on his course and wanted to know if he would like some special tacos he had made before he runs him out of.......

his Pampers, to which, Chewbacca started crying for Yoda to come to his rescue, but Yoda was still trying to recover from a sore back after the last time he had to carry him and so Yoda called on Gatormouth, but he was still looking for his roller on hole # 8 and that only left.......

Super JoeM3, who told him to pull up his Pampers and run like me with a hay diddle diddle and get rid of that middle. They ran and they ran until they could not run anymore (about two steps) when they came upon......

Jose Grecko, with his wife backing him all the way, and he told them they were going the wrong way and they immediately turned and went........

South when all of a sudden these round disc like objects started flying by them and they said is it a bird, is it a plane, is it a disc. No it was a new invention made by RT, called red, white and blue tortillas and he calls them "Getaways", cause when you eat one, you got to get away. By this time they had figured they had gone too far south and they needed to.......

grab as many of those round things as they could and take them back with them and LOSO_TD could sell them at their minis and they could make lots of money and become rich and........

Well now we know who's doing the work today and who is online playing in between their naps. :o:D

Now where were we before we were so rudely interrrupted? Oh yes,

Chapter 2
Rich and Beautiful
If you hadn't figured it out yet, these two are not the swiftest disc in the bag. But what can you expect from two lefties. The red, white and blue taco disc sold like hot cakes and they did become rich, but there was no one that could help with the other desire and as they sat and contemplated what to do............

who should appear, but eight tiny reindeer.... oh no that is another story... who should appear, no one but Yoda. He told them if they wanted to become beautiful, they should go to the city hall disc golf course and cover their faces with the mud that had been made available in that area and they would look much better and then go and play a round of disc golf with........

.. pull behind disc golf cart's and throw side arm the whole round then..

anyone they could find that would be willing to play with two lefties with their faces covered with mud. Well they found two fellers out there playing, it just happened to be Jodie and Jimbob and so they started to play, but Jimbob wasn't playing too well (you know why) and Jodie kept losing his rollers. As the day rolled on, it became hot and the two lefties started to prespire from the intense heat and the mud started to soften and run down over their eyes and they could not see a thing and they played their best round of disc golf ever. They put their two heads together and........

the mud dryed and they became stuck together. Usually two heads are better than one except in this case. They came up with this brilliant idea of mud glasses. since it seemed to help their game (anything would help their game) and they would.....

take their "mud-glasses" to their secert getaway, Brokeback Moutain. Upon arriving at Brokeback the Lefty Lucys discovered the secert hiding place of the evil fairy MZN-Links. MZN-Links stood upon his rainbow painted soap box and said unto them.....

"See-not, putt-not." And just that quickly the spell was broken and they returned to their over-par ways. And he granted them government jobs so they would have plenty of time to play disc golf, until...

Yoda, Chinger, and Gator abused their Government jobs. They used Gov. computers and time to smack on their fellow man. Hours and hours were wasted away behind their computers with Yoda leading the way. This abuse continued until...

They were promoted and given raises. And the three made merriment and did the Smokin Joe toe dance before every shot, and moved to Brokeback Mountain, wherupon mzn_links fled and returned to his home in hetero-ville. And then...

Chinger installed a 69 hole course on Brokeback Mountain. He named the course after all his loves in life. It was called "Yoda Yount's Furry Face Disc Golf Course and Interior Design." You can pratice your putts and have Chinger chose your china patterns and color schemes. Chinger's business made him instant thousandaire! And he and Yount moved off the mountain and started a family. But things soon went wrong. Chinger and Yount soon became.....

tired of the never ending disc golf story. And the story grew tired of everyone, too. And the story laid down for a nap and woke up 10 years later, and it had a long beard and long hair, and shabby shirt, and it was Chinger!!

And Gator moved in on Brokeback Mountain where he lived out his days playing with himself on the 69 hole course. THE END!

And Yoda moved into the Brokeback Retirement Home. And Chinger got a job as Yoda's personal nurse and was in charge of all the sponge baths. And as for Gatorputt, he moved far far way, never to return and be subjected to the massive SMACK he had recieved while at Live Oak. As a going away present he rolled his remaing discs into #8's watery grave. And with a tip of his hat and flip of his finger, he was gone.

-1 is there only 9 holes....speaking of 9 holes, within a couple of months I will be able to walk out my back door, go out my back gate and walk about 150 yards and be standing on the # 6 tee pad at Nani Falcone Park. I have been at all but two meetings with the Park and Recreation Department about this park and wanting a DGC on it for the kids and families around this area of SA, and low and behold, it is finally here. The tee pads are poured, the baskets are marked and actully in the developers hands. It is not much, but it is something.

I have changed jobs recently and some of the free time that I have spent on projects such as Lackland, Pearsall Park and this one, even though I didn't do anything but talk and ask about it every time I got the chance to, is less than I want to, but this side of town is finally getting some courses. I am suppose to meet with the developers and architechs(sp) of Pearsall Park the first part of July to make sure that they have all the right equipment set to order.

Hopefully I will make some more mini's before the summer is out, but if I don't, come out and say hi to me at my new job.

ps..Lackland wants to host a 'military/civilian' tourney like LO did for a while. The head of the Recreation center attended the last one out at LO a couple of years ago and wants to do the same at Lackland now. I will get more info out on it when she gets me the tentative date(s). Who wants to play Lackland again?

I was in Raleigh, North Carolina all last week! I was so stoked to play some NC courses! And....

IT POURED EVERYDAY I WAS THERE AND EVERYTHING FLOODED.

But on the bright side, I did get to see this stuff called "RAIN". I told them that we don't have this crazy stuff in Live Oak.... :D

Is anybody interested in playing some Ultimate Frisbee sometime? I've personally never played, but it seems like a lot of fun. And it seems like a good way to get in some exercise. Disc golf is fun but it just doesn't get your heart rate up enough to burn those extra calories. And Ultimate would not only would be fun and good for you, but it might improve your Disc Golf game. Just seeing if there was any interest. There is an Ultimate group that meets out at McAllister soccer fields, but they are alot younger and in better shape than me. (I know that's hard to believe :D) Thoughts?

One thing you will learn by playing Ultimate that will help your golf game: how to throw an understable disc--forehand, backhand, overhand.

Great game. Played for many years including an Aussie team at Worlds. :D That was before the knee surgery, and one too many breakfast tacos.

To get a good game you would need at least 10 players. Count me in. Maybe after the mini one Thursday night in the cool on the oval. Do you have a disc? I am sure I can find one.

*Beer Ultimate Rules:
1. No running. You might spill your beer. Freaky speed-walking is OK.
2. Beer must be carried at all times.
3. When replacing beer, it is sporting/mandatory that your defender accompany you to the cooler/keg.
4. Turnovers occur when the defense intercepts the disc, the disc hits the ground, or an offensive player spills his beer.

Pellman should dominate this game. :)

Sweet! - Never played, but it seems like fun. I'll see if work will let me leave, but the project I'm working on goes out at the end of this month. Lots to do until then, so not as many flying discs as I'd like.

Side note - a few of the guys I work with play (and are pretty **** good), and I'm going to try to get them out for a league night or mini hopefully soon...again, deadlines.

No the disc is smaller and lighter. It has flight rings just like a frisbee. All the better for taking finger nails off with. :eek:

Conversely, attempt to catch disc trying to maim you.

Don't be scared. How hard can it be to catch a 110 gram disc thrown by a semi-retired Australian Disc Golfer. :D

Clean catches..meaning no two points on any one person can touch the disc at the same time...but I could pin the disc with my hand on my teammates chest! Throws cannot go over 90 degrees...in other words no upside down.

the disc used is called a 15 mold..you can see one to your left as my avatar...they weight approx 90gs

It is an exicting game to watch for those people with poor eye hand coordination.

Gloves are legal...we use NFL wide receiver gloves...they are a little tacky. You just can't transfer anything (*tacky) to the disc. so stick-um is illegal.

96mph!?!? The catch record is ~74mph (119kph) and the throw record is ~83mph (134kph)!

How fast was R. Bratten throwing at TX States? I thought he was over 130mph.

Robbie hit 131kph and 133kph. One hit Nez clean in the hand...and was dropped. I think the other hit McCoy square...and was dropped. Both of those were unofficial.

During the official part he hit Nez clean with a 127kph, but Nez dropped it too.

And then he hit the gun...ending the throwing. :)
