FYI for the out of towners who have never been here or are considering coming, There is a campground at this park with full hookups for those with travel trailers/motorhomes. this is a nice shady campground along a small bayou and just steps away from 36 holes of chainbanging.
Crawfish are cheap and plentiful right now and good food is easy to find in south Louisiana.
Ya'll come on down!

I love Cajun food, I grew up about 40 minutes from shreveport which means I know how to gamble and eat good food and this sounds like a cool tournament.Unfortunately though I am not going to close on any properties until June 2nd which puts me out for this one but if there are any events down that way later on in the year I would definitely like to come check it out.

why was dubs canceled?
The parking lot is torn up at Macgregor and the event may have to be moved on sunday so I don't know about dubs. Two PDGA events in one weekend is inticing though. :D

I saw on the website that Mikey Kernan took 3rd place in Advanced...what up with that???

May 28 2006, 08:08 PM
I'm gald someone else noticed that. I called him out on it and he said he would donate his winning but that still skrews the guy who missed the cash by one and the open guys by having less players.
NIce back to back wins on the same weekend Matt!! Small but still a cool thing to do :)
Kernan, what a waste of life.
Not trying to make the TD's look bad becasue I heard it was a great event but isnt there a sanctioning agreement that you are supposed to follow???

May 28 2006, 08:19 PM
I don't think they knew what his rating was at the tine. They just wrote down the PDGA #s and will find out when they plug them in. The blame is 98.7% on Mikey.
Well it is pretty common knowledge, especially in LA, that Mikey Kernan has been playing Open for years, not too mention taking cash MANY times at that very course. Like I said, I am not saying anything bad about the TD's but letting him play ADV just aint right whether he was donating or not. Just my opinion.
And WTG!! Jarrod on hitting the ACE! Matt posted on the boast thread that Jarrod is 13 but I think he is 12. Either way it was his first ever ace AND he cashed in Rec...Nice Job Jarrod!!!

May 28 2006, 08:48 PM
Scott from what I heard in SN if you haven't cashed in open in 6 months you can play down.

Thanks, Fuzzy. I'm very proud of Jarred and this day will always be a special memory for us.! I wanted to bring him out there today but he was hurting as usual after a tournament. He is on top of the world for sure. Glad I had him in the Ace pot. :) Never a doubt. He turns 13 on June 29.
