We'll never tell. ;) Hope you can make it this year. The courses are looking good (we finally got some rain) and the tournament details are shaping up nicely.
Come to Wichita for a "B" tier event and enjoy the last two evenings (Friday & Saturday) of the Wichita River Festival. :D

Anyone know any ladies that are playing this year? I am thinking about heading up to Wichita, but I don't want to go unless there will be a ladies field.

As normal, pre-registrations are just starting to show-up. ;) We have one advanced woman registered so far.:D
Women can receive a $10 early registration discount if their pre-registration is postmarked by no later than 5/1/06. Also, the first 75 paid participants will receive an additional bonus in their players' package.
How about bringing a group of Tulsa ladies with you. :D We would enjoy having you participate.

Well, I guess I'll miss out on the $10 discount. I'm headed to Austin, TX for the Texas Women's Championship...leavin' in about an hour.
I'm thinking seriously about coming. Will a preregistration list be posted?

Apr 26 2006, 11:24 PM
Good luck in Texas.
Hadn't really thought about posting a pre-registration list but it sounds like a good idea. Unfortunately, we usually only have about 10% of the participants pre-register even with the discounts offered. Doesn't make sense to me not to take advantage of a discount when its offered.
If you're still interested when you get back from Texas, PM me or send me an e-mail to pres@aircapdiscgolf.com and we can talk details. :D

If I remember correctly there were several women there last year. You should definately put it on your schedule Melissa. The Norman crew had a blast last year, except the part were we got kicked out of the Roach Inn Hotel. Looking foward to it this year.
Is there a host hotel?
Some of us got kicked out of a hotel last year too.

I had heard some rumors as to such. Too loud of a party huh? :D
Anyhow, we have not arranged a host hotel due to River Festival conflicts. I don't think anyone has had trouble getting a room in the last two years though.
If you need any help with finding a room, send me your telephone number, etc. to pres@aircapdiscgolf.com and I'll see if I can help. :D
no there was 1 person to many in a room

no there was 1 person to many in a room
That seems kind of lame to me. They should have simply charged you for the extra person like most places do.
Don't forget to have your paid registration postmarked by no later than 5/1/06 to receive the $5 men's or $10 women's early registration discount.

How is the sponsorship totals shaping up Bob? Seems like it's starting to add up big. Those custom stamped Star Tee-Rex's sure looked sweet!
After the course workday today, the courses are looking better than I've ever seen them! Herman Hill's dual pin placements are now for all 18 holes. Dual tees will be played for both courses.

Thanks for all the info, Robert....I am in the process of "kissing butt" in order to attend your event.
What does the camping situation look like up there?
eaglehigh99
May 16 2006, 02:01 PM
It depends on whether you are RVing or tent camping. There are several RV parks in or near to Wichita. Tent camping is another story. Lake Afton is about 20 miles west of town. A couple of DGers camped there last year. E-mail me your telephone # at pres@aircapdiscgolf.com so I can call you.
