Getting a portable basket soon and am wanting to know the exact size and type of OEM chain ( if this isnt to much to ask ) that Innova uses with their baskets. When I say portable I mean their sport version. Not the cloth baskets. Going to add a second layer of chains. Thanks

Good luck finding galvanized links at that size!

You can hot dip galvanize any size steel chain. All it takes is $$$$$$$$$$

Most chain I found at that size was zinc plated...can you galvanize over the zinc or is "blank" steel preferred?

Galvanizing is zinc coating. If it's plated, it's probably cadmium.

Ok, let me rephrase. Good luck finding hot-dip galvanized chain at that size (as opposed to "zinc plated coating not suitable for exterior exposure applications")!
From my understanding after helping Bertrand build some StrokeSavers is that the only way you are able to get hot-dipped galv. 2/0 straight link coil is to special order it and you are only going to be able to get it by the bucket. A bucket of Chain is something like 1600 feet of chain which is enough to do about 30 baskets with inner and outer chains. I hear that size chain has a bad tensil strength and hot-dipping just weakens it more making it mostly unusable for anything other then decoration or a disc golf basket. Electro-galv. (blue chrome) will rust within a year and the nickel plated will rust faster then that. Your best bet is to convince your local hardware store to buy a bucket of hot-dipped galv., good luck with that.

Where is a good place to buy chain, and what is the cost?

So home depot and lowes wont carry this type or size of galvanized chain? Think having the seller add OEM inner chain for you would be a good deal? Anyone ever use this seller before? Just trying to get it all straight. Thanks

The chain is 2.0 hot dipped straight liberty (Not proof Coil) proof coil is oval and is what we use on the 2 sets of inside chain for our our Titan Pro-24.
Good luck finding hot dipped anymore it is very hard to find and espensive when you do.
you can go to just about any lowes or home depot and get 2/0 stright link ( not coil) for about 41 per ft.
It will either rust right away or witin a year or so, but it is guaranteed to rust of left out doors
If you cannot find any of the hot dipped we may be willing to sell some to you. Just call the shop or email

Just get some chain and put it on a load of steel at the galvanizers. They might not charge you anything. I have had a basket dipped before for free.

The Home Depot where I live , sells the 2.o Chain in Stainless Steel !!!!! It's like $1.89 a foot though. Looks sweet and shiny !!!!! Might be a bit slick to putt on.
Home Depot sells those outdoor solar lights.
Works great on top of portable baskets. :D

I got the basic idea on the chain, thanks for the help.
Call this a stupid newby question if you want. But I cannot figure out or find anywhere what the x number of a disc means.
Example. 10X Pro Gazelle
I see people saying it all the time but I dont know what it means. Thanks

on a 10x KC Pro Gazelle, the "10x" means that it says "10 times World Champion Ken Climo".
Same with a 3x JK Aviar versus a 4x. The 3x will say "Three times World Champion" and the 4x will say "Four Times..."

Ok I get. So it really doesnt matter to much the # of X's, unless there was a design change. Cool, thanks
It matters to some people.
The plastic changes all the time (from the wholesalers), so it's always a little different from run to run, and month to month, and year to year.
So even if the mold didn't change between the 9X and the 10X KC Rocs, some people will prefer one over the other.

Unless stability is a factor. For example a FL is less stable than a FX.
