Simple post, one word answers is all you need, although it is kind of subjective...
I ordered a T-Rex last night and am waiting on it, will update what I find later, but....i have had problems with my lighter- weight star wraith flipping over and becoming a roller and i hear the t-rex might fix this problem and be better in the wind.
So do you agree or disagree that the Tee-Rex is better overall than the Wraith.

Wraith is better if you throw hyzer flip for big D.

TeeRex is better if you throw anhyzer for big D or if there's a strong headwind.

if you have bad technique and thus flip almost everything, TeeRex is probably better for that too.

I like the wraith better, but I carry a teeRex aswell. I love my Pro Wraiths, but the TeeRex has its moments.

I have a problem with this post. You say lighter weight?

Why are you throwing a lighter Wraith? If it is because you cannot throw max weight and all of your discs are in the low 160's, alright.

But you are going to compare a heavier Tee Rex to a light Wraith, that is comparing Apples to Tin Cans.

While the jury is still out on whether the Tee Rex will actually find it's way into my bag to replace the Firebird, I think the Tee Rex and Wraith are totally different discs.

The Tee Rex is definately more stable then a Wraith at the same weights. Therefore it is inherently better in a head wind then a Wraith. I will not throw a Wraith into a headwind over 15mph. So I am left with a Firebird, however I am not getting the distance out the the Firebird which I would like. I am hoping to find that the Tee Rex is very consistent and would be an appropriate replacement for the Firebird with what I am looking for.

In all fairness you should compare the Surge to the Wraith. Tee Rex and Wraith are not supposed to be even close to the same flight characteristics.

Not comparing TeeRex to Wraith, as I have never thrown a TeeRex and throw all my drivers exclusively 150-class. Just saying 149g DX Wraith rules!

And saying that when I DO throw a TeeRex (when 150-class DX ones emerge from the aether), it'll have to be something very sepcial to bump my Champion FXs out of my bag. :D

The TeeRex cannot handle Firebird torque. But it can handle a lot more than the Wraith. Its a SWEET DISC in either a head or tailwind. For the discers with alot of arm, this will probably be an almost neutral distance driver (but not exactly easy to flip)
The only comparison I can make is, like a Teebird but longer and faster. Definately going in the bag.

But l do not think it will replace my FB for almost any headwind shot, althought I still have much experiementing to do.

I have been throwing the Tee rex since they came out and all I can say about them is they are just a slightly more overstable Wraith. I have one that has yellow and orange swirly plastic (175) that is nasty overstable, I'd compare it to a firebird in terms of stability. I have a green (175) that has been thrown a lot and has taken some punishment. It isn't as high speed overstable, but it alays finishes strong.
I think most of these new discs are fairly innconsistant between two discs that are supposed to be identical, (ie Star Wraiths, one can be overstable, while another is a hyzer flip disc) but after you find one that suits you, that one disc holds its flight characteristics pretty good.
So... Is the Tee rex better that the wraith? Maybe.

Disagree - I do agree with most, that the wraith is touchy, but if your technique is sound, this is by far the best driver, by best I mean distance. (tbird is still the best)I have a teerex in the bag, but its only had maybe 10-12 throws, so right now, my go to disc is the pro or star wraith for d.

I disagree as well. The TR I have is more beefy than a Monster.
The Pro Wraith is the best driver on the planet, brand new or used.
The TR ( at least mine ) will be the longest driver I own...in about 2 years , when it gets beat in.

By then, there will probably be something better.

ok ill clarify my original post, my 172g Star wraith flips over on me at about 150ft and dives straight into the ground, even when thrown correctly (it might have hit a tree once but its still fairly new) my 175g still flies long straight and then comes back left at the end (like it should)...i do throw with alot of power so the tee-rex should fit nicely into my bag, i hope it is like the monster because i love that disc too.
I'll still probably keep the firebird and roc as my main drivers but im hoping the t-rex can fill a void for the long disance shots that supposedly the wraith was suppose to do but didnt at least for me.

Again, thanks for the replies.

My wraiths do the same so I play it that way, I throw it higher and more left with a slight hyser, I throw rhbh, and it stays on the line turning right and fights back at the end, for a huge S. I am getting at least 450 to 500 out of it. but the hole I am throwing on is wide open.

The teerex is right behind it though, I can throw it more on a straight line and not have to worry about flipping it too much.

They are both worthy to be in my bag.

I'll have to go with the Pro Wrait for predicability over the CFR Wraith, but the new T-Rex seems to be right in-between a teebird and wraith, but with more distance than the teebird.

The Teebird will always have a place in my bag, but I have began carrying a CFR Wraith and Pro Wraith also when I need a little more D for a hole. The T-Rex is very straight when thrown so far...another great Innova product!

I just purchased a second run Star Tee-Rex and it's more stable than my Star Wraith. Almost really overstable into a headwind !!!!!

Star Wraith is White and the New Second run Tee-Rex is Lime Green if that makes any difference.

So far I'm really digging both of these discs, and I'd have to say I like the Tee-Rex better. However, I think they are very different and both have their uses.

First off, to me the Tee-Rex seems to be what the Wraith was supposed to be -- I don't find it to be Firebird or Monster overstable by any stretch, but good into a headwind with a flight like a Teebird, just fast and super long. With that said, I do like the Wraith. I have a Star that I use for huge anhyzer shots and for low ceiling distance at less power. I have two DX that I flexed pretty good that I use for big hyzer flips with a big turn and a ton of glide. But these are only useful for big wide open distance. I've found the Tee-Rex to be more accurate just because of it's predictability and I know that if I throw it on a line, it will stay on that line, the same as a Teebird. When I can get some DX Tee-Rexes to use for my pure distance, I'm sure the Wraiths will be gone. Maybe I'll keep the Star though for the big annies.

One thing I haven't really seen on the Tee-Rexes though is the same penetration that a Wraith has. When my DX Wraiths were new I could throw them on a huge hyzer line, and where most discs would fade left and die, these would keep going forward and get an extra 30 to 40 feet of forward distance during the whole fade portion. I have yet to see that in the Tee-Rex, but I can't say I've really been looking either.

Edit: thought I should add the ones I've thrown: 171 hot pink Star stamped Tee-Rex (slightly beefier Wraith), a 171 dark blue Star stamped one (fairly stable, like a long Starfire-X), and a 172 baby blue stock stamped (most Teebird-ish flight, my favorite of the bunch).

Stability aside, I find the Wraith and T-rex (Star) to be essentially the same disc in terms of speed and glide. If the T-rex had come out first, the Wraith could be called a T-rex L. They are both top-tier distance drivers, which imo are not the smartest choice in really windy conditions (20 mph +) because the speed of these discs can launch them into the next county if they get off line in windy conditions. Champion Tee-birds and Firebirds are better wind discs imo because they are slower and take longer to flip up in a headwind which makes them straighter and more predictable, though not as long.

Just got a pair of yellow 172 t-rex's yesterday, and they are the bomb. I throw wraith's for drives mostly, but this badboy is gonna end up taking over. Instantly added 30 ft. to my drive when thrown on a hard flat anny.

hmmm gonna have to try the anhyzer release, i did get mine and have thrown it a few times, good distance wickedly overstable, really to me is a longer range monster.
But I have made the switch to the Pro Wraith it is what i was looking for, the tee-rex is good but very different than the wraith. and the star wraith is nothing when compared to the pro wraith, that much i now know.

So to my original question.....DISAGREE

I just got my own T-Rexes, two 175s, orange and chartreuse. I threw them a few times in a field and then took the Star Wraith out of my bag. For me, the T-rex is more like a super Orc than a Monster, as it is not really overstable, but rather stable with a predictable finish and excellent glide. I think most power throwers will find that the T-rex makes the Wraith obsolete, especially as it gets a little broken in.
