um....wrong!!
At WYCO there has never been an ace in league play. So the pot has never been paid. But, the ace funds do exist.

I'm talking about the ace that he hit in the KCWO last year. There was no ace pot, he got the shaft.

An old National Doubles partner of mine traveled all the way to Bowling Green, KY in 1999. Spent $1000 on plane tickets, rental car, hotel, entry fee, food, etc....... didn't spend the extra $3 to get into the ace pot.....hit an ace on his 3rd hole, first round, Sat morning!
It's silly not to buy into ace pots.

They did not offer one at the KCWO. From my understanding.

Wow, I expected my name to be in here since it's happened to me twice. Although a grand total of $200 lost doesn't make for as good a conversation as the $1,200 a friend of mine was out from not getting in an ace pot. When it's over $400 or so, I'm almost always in.

We had a new kid that didn't get in the ace pot for $4 or the CTP for $4.
Well, he hit two aces in the same round and both of those holes were also the CTP holes. :o
The look on his face was priceless! :D

That is the best way to get a tournement ace. I know of three people that got their first sanctioned ace, that weren't in the ace pool. I have one PDGA ace and it was at a tournement with about 30 ppl and there were three aces, so I got $10 from the ace pool, but $20 from the other 4 on my card.
I have quit getting in ace pools because I want another tourney ace, but I always pay for our league pool though.

I never buy into ace pots, except for Worlds but was part of the entry fee.
My first ace ever was in a tournament. I was the first to tee off on the first hole of the first round. BANG skip ace. Three other tee pads full of people saw it, so it was witnessed by 19 other people and they were all ticked off. But then they realized I was not in the ace pot. But to see almost 20 people mad was hilarious. I double bogeyed the next hole.

We don't have ace pots out here. Tradition states that each player gives a dollar to anyone who aces. You are doing well if you get dollars from over 60% of the players.

I'm always in the ace pot. Hit one in league for $640, hit one at the PFDO at Knob Hill and only got $20 for it, in an A-Tier...Hit one at the Dogwood Crosstown NT this past year, and got $0 for it. Hell, I hit one at a local ice bowl in NJ and got $80 for it :)
Leagues are where it's at!

Ann Arbor Area club has a good way to do it for their individual Wed league. They pay out $100 to every ace, always. So there could be $500 in the pot, and 3 people ace. $100 each. Anywhere from 30-100 ppl sign up every week, I believe.

Again.
I never get into ace pots, out of 5 aces this was my second tournament ace, I also had one league ace, neither time was I in the ace pot.
This weekend at Blue Grass Open, there were two people who hit aces. Neither of us were in the ace pot.
The hole I aced was sick though. 205 down hill, very steep sloping green. The furthest away I was from acing it all three rounds was 3 inches. One round I hit chains and spit out.
My only ace was a sanctioned ace, I wasn't even told about the ace pool, not that I would have gotten in it. I then found out that afternoon that there was only $15 in the pot.
At least I got the glory of around 20 people witnessing it.

Girlfriend got an ace this weekend at a tourney but was not in the ace pool. She didn't care. She was just happy to get a tourney ace. One other guy it an ace the day before. He wasn't in the ace pool either! So the money just went to the local club or basket fund I think.
