Awesome! We just keep on spreading our wings!
I have nothing on WAFDA but I have a guy at the new Lake Fort Smith who is really interested in seeing a course going in there. The state parks are trying to get on board (DeGray is thinking the same way). Can I give him your number Tom so he can talk to you about costs?
Also if anyone has any ties to the state parks system help me plant this bug or tell me who else I can contact.

i'll see if the judge would know who to talk to.
Anybody have any input on Clarksville? Let us know.
I teach high school agriculture less than 30 minutes from Clarksville. I've got a couple kids who've already built me a homemade basket and have been bugging me to take them to a real course the past month. I think all of my students have seen disc golf on video (you're almost famous Jeff!) So there is some interest. Plus, i've got some FFA members that would/could help out. We're always needing community service projects. I gave Tommy E my contact info at BG Blowout, but my phone's been trash lately (just got fixed). Put me in touch with whoever!!
By the way when I said I'm less than 30 minutes from Clarksville, that means thats the closest town to our school. Looking forward to helping out.....aka. working my tail off.

OK I just answered an E Mail from someone asking about the course.(Where is the Course?)Well it looks like we need to put the Big Push on and get it done.18 Baskets are there.I think the tractor being used to move them into place was broken and now should be fixed.Anybody having any idea on what's happening there let us know.

What was the update from Tommy Eddy on the course? I heard some talk about it at the mini but missed what was being said.
As I told you the other day, once school is out I will be free during the week and I have tools and fourwheelers, and a strong back!
Put me where you need me and let's get these courses in!!

Spoke to Tommy Eddy today. They're about 4 or 5 holes short of having all 18 in. :)
I've finally had time to play the Clarksville course. (front nine once, entire course once). As far as the course is concerned it is well laid out and makes good use of the available options. I really like this course.
However, I have some concerns. There is one hole that I feel is dangerous and a couple more that are borderline. Hole #4 has a pavilion directly between the tee and basket.
I played today with two newbies (one a first timer) and we had to skip three holes because of pedestrians. I'm sorry but i'm not throwing anywhere near a pavilion full of people. Especially, with newbies playing with me that can't control where they throw.
I really appreciate having a course in Clarksville. I really do. It's been 3 years since i've had a course closer than an hour and a half from where I live. So i'm excited to be able to play again regularly. The course is only 30 minutes away from me, which is cool. For those that don't know me I was playing at Gulley Park back when they had 9 homemade baskets. I've seen what happens when a course gets put into a park with pedestrians. At first there's no problems, but as the sport gets popular people will be hit with discs. I just hope we'll get a new course elsewhere (like Fayetteville did), as opposed to the city removing disc golf completly.
Anyway, I just felt like I should express my concerns. Not complaining. I'm just worried.
Willie next time you play at Clarksville, move the barrels out of the way, and then move them back after you throw. I'd love to meet you for a round sometime. I think I can show you a route on one of those long holes. 'Course i'm a lefty. :D

Hey engrhawg,
Were you there when me and the brother-in-law were playing?
If so I wish I had realized it was you and we would have talked some more. I didn't want to mess up the round of the guys playing but I wanted to meet and thank the park director for having the course there. I agree with you that when the course gets more people playing it is going to have some safety issues. If everyone would do what is right and warn people before throwing so they can be heads up it would be OK 99% of the time, but an errant throw out where you don't expect, or missing seeing a few people and there will be problems.
Next time I will move the barrels I just didn't want to seem like I was trying to mess up the course. I will try and let you know ahead of time when we are going out there and we can try and get together for a round.
BTW any openings in Oark for grades 4-8 core subjects? I am jobless right now and looking :(
No Willie I wasn't there while you were playing. I've only seen two other people on the course and they weren't you. I too, would like to thank the parks director for the course and I plan on calling the parks department this week. I havn't seen the parks director or Tommy Eddy at the course, yet. Hopefully, i''ll get a chance to thank them both in person some time.
You're right in the fact that there wouldn't be many safety issues if players would warn the pedestrians. I've just seen too many players throw without saying a word while at old Gulley. Also, some players won't wait on the cars to go by either before they throw.
Sorry Willie, but the only jobs we have available at Oark this year is a 7-12 science teacher and a girls basketball coach.
