I understand. I may have to swing up to Cha for the weekend points events.

Check out the tee shirt design on the web site linked above. I am getting extras made for anyone who wants this sweet logo.

Would you mind posting our flyer or the graphics for the shirt around the Cha area courses? Spread the word.

Please have Billy remind me as this week is a little busy on my end. Hal retrieved a stack of plastic from Hampton park and called every number on the discs that were legible. Hal will be at Trophy Lakes this weekend.

Trophy Lakes also did a little diving and has a stack of discs. They will start calling those numbers today. I looked through them and there are some familiar names (non mine? WTF?).

Claim your plastic or forever hold your, peace dude.

I updated the pre reg list and it is looking better everyday. Some great players will be at the lakes this weekend.

It looks like some of the other Carolina Ams are scared. I don't know why their aren't any alligators in Trophy Lakes.

We may play a little golf if the weather is just right. If golf is not your bag then there is always wake boarding/skiing available.

It is looking like good weather, a bit warm. Nothing a dip in the lake won't fix.

Thank you MTL
This weekend was pretty awesome. I shot my personal best at the lake (53), cashed (for the 2nd straight tournament) and made it through the heat. It was hot in Charleston. Jumping in the lake after the rounds Sunday was a great feeling.

Mike Farnham shredded the course the first 3 rounds. Same for MJ but better.

The ladies field was in full swing. Great to see some women shooting up the lakes course.

Way to go Jonas, you did an excellent job running your 1st tourney. We had a great weekend. Thanks for your hospitality.

Mike & Terry found somemore discs in the lake. Connor you may be happy to know, Mike found your yellow wraith & another disc belonging to the Thompson family. We also found a disc belonging to Hal. Everyone was gone when we left the lakes, so we have the discs with us.

Congrats to all of the winners!!!

Just wondering - Was it the normal blue and red layouts that were used for this tournament?

I played the course while on my honeymoon at Kiawah, and I wanted to know about what my round was rated. By the looks of it, it was about a 1000 +/- a few points. Can someone let me know?

Thanks to Jonas and all the Charleston disc golf club members who helped - especially Charlie for an incredible quantity of sandwiches and drinks, and the gas cards - and everyone who carried water and ice.

Trophy is so much fun in the summer - its really too bad when you throw into the water, but then you have the enjoyable experience of being able to go into the water to retrieve it! And discs were retrieved on a grand scale (thanks Mike and Misty - the Thompsons are glad to hear that you've found more of their plastic and we will catch up with you somewhere along the line to get it back - and I believe that Coleman had a net gain of discs for the weekend since so many of his previously lost discs were located by others!)

Regarding the layout we played, Tiger, the normal red and blue tees were used. But how this compares to the course as you played it depends on when you played. Over the past 2-3 months, there were several changes made. I'll list them: Six (previously over the lake, and over the BIG woodpile) has been shortened significantly this spring and the woodpile was removed. Eight was lengthened just a bit - moved back into the woods so you no longer through from the ditch but have to negotiate a relatively narrow "door", pretty much cutting off any significant "safe" hyzer over the lake. Tee nine was moved slightly sideways to open up a couple of different fairway options. 12 tee was moved back about 30 feet, which actually opened up an interesting route via 13's fairway. 18 was also played from the tee sign, not from the often-played tee about 30 feet forward (putting the tee back opens the hyzer route over the lake again). 17 was shortened a bit and could be easily pinned if one would just throw it correctly! And of course, it was pretty gusty in three out of four rounds (PMs were significantly windier than AMs this past weekend).

Let me thank a couple people:

Tadd and H2Osmisis: thanks for the support and the course still being there. It is a great course that needs to stay.

The CDGC members: The support of the club is great and thanks to all who came out and dealt with the heat.

Coleman and Vanessa: Thanks for helping with reg's, scoring, water, and course mainenance. You are always there and can be counted on for what ever is needed.

Dave and Duke: THank you for helping with everything. You guys are serious cogs in the wheel this weekend.

Charlie Seighman and Buck Management/Blue Water Convenience Stores: Great sponsor and thank you for helping with the reg's and scoring.

Tim Coghill: Assistant TD. Great job on the map, water works, reg's, scoring and 100% support on every aspect of the tournament process.

Most importantly: Thank you to each player who came to support our tournament. I hope that everyone had a great experience and everyone is invited back to the next one. Without the golfers it wouldn't be the same.
