Out of curiosity, I understand that it says on the main page...
TD's - Tournament Reports due 3/30/06 for inclusion
But BG Ams is absolutely immense... is there any chance that it sneaks into the coming ratings update? That would be absolutely sweet :)

No way. That will take a while to process the multiple pools and get it set up for processing.

so what you mean is that the rating that our up right now arent even close the what the real ratings will be once the pools are split up???

Correct. No one did any course layout and pool combinations like you need to do online to get correct unofficial ratings. Ratings for every round currently assumes all 554 played the same course each round.

Oh wowwwww.... Well that explains a LOT. I hadn't even looked at the comparison between divisions ratings since it was so huge! Dang well thats interesting, I wonder how much my ratings are going to drop :-X

You can go to the BG Open results last year and look up the course statistics. We played the exact same layouts as the pros.
They had sweet calm weather for the entire weekend like us. But during that 4th round we had near 20mph winds at White Park, so SSA would likely be .5 - 1.0 higher.
Basically you can take your score at the respective courses and figure out your rating. In doing so, I came up with my 49 as a 980 rated round at Lovers Sunday morning. When going back to Nats Halloween Howler where I shot a 49 and was rated 981.
It may not be official, but I think doing it that way you could come within 5 points of figuring out your round ratings.
I am actually happy these are not included in the next update. I am ashamed to call myself a discgolfer right now.

Chuck,
Am I correct in the assumption that the round ratings are for the courses the A pool played. They have to be from some set of courses. So every one with a 49 the first round is rated for a 49 at Hobson.

No, because the first round scores are from whatever course someone played. They are all mixed up so you can't read anything from it. Parkntowputt showed how you could probably estimate your rating from last year's scores on the courses. The SSA values can be looked up here from last year (enter Kentucky): www.pdga.com/tournament/course_ratings_by_course.php (http://www.pdga.com/tournament/course_ratings_by_course.php)

Jon,
Make sure you use the results from the Pro Open and not the Am Championship for last year.

How long will it be until the correct ratings are inputted? I know I'd be willing to do it if somebody wanted me to and sent me the papers, could do it overnight... and I'm sure plenty of people would be willing to volunteer the same... just to see the correct unofficial-ratings up there asap.

I guess everything's a matter of perspective --- you beat me by 3 throws, but I'm exceptionally pleased with my overall play at BG, and not the least bit ashamed. :D
It reminds me of Hole #6 at Lovers (the fairly straight-forward 370' with a downhill finish shot). When we were calling out our scores, everybody on my card sounded so dissapointed and down when they said "3". It was such a pathetic response from an entire card that I was compelled to call out my score as, "I guess I'm the only person on the card not dissapointed with my 3"
My -3 at Hobson in the final round felt especially good, considering I shot a +5 there last year. In fact, I finished a total of 24 strokes better than I did last year.

Right you are Rooster, its all a matter of perspective... but if you throw a disc straight 350' then a par on #6 @ Lovers is disapointing. I wasn't overly pleased with my play this weekend either. That just shows, in my opinion, that a person is striving to get better, and recognizes the shortcoming in his game.
BTW were you the one with the Al Czervik (Caddyshack) cart rocking out at Keriakas on Thursday?

Ha....yeah, that was me!
I understand that people are dissapointed in their rounds. I wasn't trying to deride anybody (especially Kris) for their dissapointment --- I was just trying to convey that one man's bad game is another's great one.
Kris --- I 4 putted on the easiest hole at White --- the 260' uphill #2, and took a spirit-breaking 5. Those two extra putts on what should be an easy 2 or a sure-thing 3 were the two strokes separating me from cashing. I just can't let that take away from how well I felt the rest of the tourney (the easy 4s I took on White #5, 6, and 18 were fun, as I had an unexpected putt at 3 on all of them).

I think I have the heartbreaker of the tournament.
Dispite 4-putting #1 at Keriakes, on #9 at White park, dead straight and flat at about 560ft. We had a right to left wind. After seeing what was a looking like a devastatingly bad fade, I was walking up to what I thought was a 400ft tee shot. Well, still not seeing my disc we found it 60ft shy of the basket! Set my up shot 10ft shy, and then my putt hit high right chains and flopped out. That was such a total bummer.
Robbie, I knew you were not getting on me about my attitude and dissapointment. I was just not realizing that some people will be happy with what I shot. Perspective is what I need to work on. Cashing in BG is doing great, even if it is last cash.

My longest drive of the tournament, pin high on a 420 foot hole... was OB by inches. Six total OBs, all out by a total of about 5 feet. :'( Thats heartbreaking.

Heart break is... shooting well all weekend except at whites... first of all I came inches from deucing hole 18(no lie) then I ace hole 3 and still finish +6 for the round. sitting at -2 on the tourney before the round should have shot 2-4 down with a strong finish but I couldn't remember how to throw in the stupid wind for the first few holes...or the last few for that matter
