Yes, it's true! This is an extremely limited release of CFR STAR Gremlins.
http://www.tripledisc.com/preview/MSDGC/STARGremlin.jpg
Only a few boxes have been made and I have a limited number that are fundraisers for this year's 30th Virginia State Frisbee Tournament and its host, John Lee Pratt Memorial Park. Each comes with the Certificate of Authenticity and Sponsors Reward program entry.

I'm letting these go for $30 apiece (incl. shipping), all of which will go directly to the Park's basket/tee sign fund.

Be the 1st on your block to have (IMHO) innova's truest-flying midrange driver in their top-of-the-line plastic! PM me or email ray@tripledisc.com if you,re interested.

Ray,

Did you guys have to go to extraordinary measures to get Innova to run those CFR discs? I LOVE the Gremlins, and we are starting to plan a tournament here in Gastonia, NC. That would be a great disc to do a CFR for...

Any info you have would be appreciated. I do have some contacts at Innova East, so I will probably talk to them about it too...

Thanks,

Beren

Sweet disc!!

Is that a proto draft of what the stamp will look like on the disc or is that an actual disc with the stamp on it?

veganray
Apr 01 2006, 07:59 PM
Proto (Photoshop job). Discs will be arriving in my hands on Wed. I'll replace image with "actual" photo then.

(No deception meant, if any has been felt.)

What is the image going to look like.? I actually did think that was the image when I ordered today.

veganray
Apr 01 2006, 10:02 PM
That IS the image on the stamp. It is just an "Artist's rendition", created from the actual Illustrator file that the stamp die will be cut from, as the discs won't arrive to me until Wed.

Please PM me if you have any concerns at all.

I used to drive a Gremlin for a number of years.

Too bad about the date on the original post. I owuld love to have a star Gremlin with that stamp, or even better with the little curled-toed mascot dude that was on the side of the car as a hotstamp. :)

No April Fools. They're REAL! I actually asked to be able to use the li'l Gremlin dude (to ride in the passeneger side) & Sam said no.

But wait, there's more . . .

Josh Hamm (widiscgolf) has agreed to go crazy with some dyes on ten of these beauties to use as "uber-CFRs". Only an additional $10 per disc. I'll post pix once the dying is done, and they'll go on a "first-order, first-choice" basis.

If you've already ordered, PM me if you want to upgrade to a WI-dyed model; otherwise, PM me if you're interested in either WI-dyed or undyed.

STAR Gremlins arrived this a.m., with purple, blue, green, red, & rainbow stamps. Did some throwing this morning & they are SWEEEEET! Straighter & more glide than Prolines & even less turn than any DX but a brand-spankin'-new DX. For this Gremlin lover, they are the pinnacle: laser-straight, forgiving, & WAY predictable. I understand that these jokers will be extremely collectible, but you just have to let 'em fly . . .

Packages are shipping today (except for WI-dyed models). Check your inbox for UPS tracking.

Pix to follow later this afternoon. (I gotta work a few minutes per week.)

Sorry, guys. I was busy all weekend playing disc games at VA States (DDC, golf, MTA, distance, accuracy, freestyle, guts). STAR Gremlins rock! A little smaller bead that the Prolines, and a bit straighter with more glide. The STAR plastic is even a li'l gummy (unlike STAR drivers), just the way I like it.

Here they are. Still a few remaining & dyed ones should be in soon.

Anyone else throw these Star Gremlins and think they are a Meat Hook? I tossed one around and it was so overstable it was crazy.... not sure if it will find a place in my bag until it's beat a little more, but for windy days I definatley like it's ability to cut through the wind.

veganray
May 04 2006, 04:17 PM
Weird, for me they are definitely less overstable than a Proline, and fit right in my bag between a seasoned DX Gremlin & a Proline Gremlin.

Of course, I'm throwing a 165g version.

geomy
May 05 2006, 02:02 PM
Stable to slightly overstable for me, 174g. I like to think of mine as a squatty tee-bird - same flight, just a little shorter.

I know a lot of you were interested & I spaced them both days, so the Grange half-price special on STAR Gremlins will be extended for another week. Both stamps are available (AMC Gremlin & Ring of Gremlins) 173-175g, as well as some sweet WI-dyes,

If you set foot onto the Grange this weekend, $15 (white) or $20 (dyed), shipping included. PM me if you want to take advantage of this INSANE deal!

If you denied yourself a trip to the VA Open this weekend (fools), I guess you need a break, too, so $25 (white) or $30 (dyed) for one week, as well.

LOL, i like semi-WHINING. I hope I wasn't one of the semi-whiners. I just didn't want to be left out because i was geographically challenged and not being able to attend because I'm 1000 miles away.

How far is the VO from Harrisonburg, VA? I have relatives there. Or Franklin, WV. What big events, if any, are close to those cities?

veganray
Jun 01 2006, 10:54 AM
Harrisonburg --> Fredericksburg = ~100 miles
Franklin --> Fredericksburg = ~140 miles
Fredericksburg has 2 big events: VA State Flying Disc Championship (2nd weekend of April) & VA Open A-tier (Memorial Day weekend)

Harrisonburg --> Paw Paw, WV = ~110 miles
Franklin --> Paw Paw, WV = ~100 miles
Paw Paw has an A-Tier the 1st weekend of September

There's also an A-tier in VA Beach in August, but that's over 200 miles from either Harrisonburg or Franklin.

veganray
Jun 01 2006, 01:04 PM
Per Innova, I have to charge at least $16 for the STAR Gremlins, so sorry for the "bait & switch", but the new price is $16 white or $20 dyed thru next week.
