Zooc gave me a great idea for the names of the Mohawk courses.
To actually use Mohawk Chiefs as the names of the courses. It sounded great until I had to try an pronounce them.
If we were to use Mohawk Chiefs, the Black course would have to be named after the most famous Mohawk Joesph Brant
Thayendanegea Thayĕndanē''kĕ
The White Course would be Onasakenrat which actuall means White Feather
The Red Course would be Hiawatha (Haio'n'hwe"tha') which mean He makes the River
Would those names be too hard to remember or is BlackHawk, RedHawk, and WhiteHawk the ones we should go with?

<font color="white">WHITE</font> Hawk
<font color="blue">BLUE</font> Hawk

On a historical note from and old golfer, back in the 70's the high school golfers just called it the Hawk.
ball golf courses are listed as Woodbine and Pecan valley
i still ame partial to Black Hawk, and Red Hawk. White hawk is the name of a ball golf course in the area.

if people are just throwing out names....a little googling online informs that the Mohawk tribe has three clans:
Turtle - Wolf - Bear
easy tie in with the zoo next door.
Red Hawk is the same name as the FL course
White Hawk is the same as a local course yes.
I think what I am going to do is USE the Mohawk Chief names on each of the hole 1 tee signs, with a little history lesson of who these guys were, but the courses will be known as RedHawk, WhiteHawk, and BlackHawk
BLUE hawk is NOT an option, who has ever seen a BLUE hawk? ;)

Too bad we can't have some real lions, tigers, and bears on the course. All I need to be able to do is run faster then Bud or Naegele and I should be ok.

Personally, I would not use WhiteHawk because there is already a ball golf course with that name.
Red Hawk is a cool course name.
I have a twinge everytime I say it too cuz WhiteHAWK is already taken for a ball golf course here in Tulsa.
So should we go with Dave Wise's idea of
CHICKENHAWK? :D

I went by Mohawk at lunch and saw Brad Zimmerman filling trash bags. :D
Come play the new holes, bring the wife, bring the kids and give them a trash bag. I'll give a disc to any kid that is out there picking up trash. If mom wants one, I'll do the same for her. ;)
