Today I was out putting in my back yard and one of my putters ended up in the woods behind my house. When I found it, it had a 2 inch thorn going through it. I had never seen anything else like it.
Feel free to post any other stories about what happened to your discs.

I threw a DX gazelle once that must have hit some type of vine/prickerbush thing because when i got to my disc it had a huge thorn through it that cut right through the flight plate and the lip.
I had a disc land on a road... had a car run it over and it spit the disc into the air and hit the basket we were going at.. that was really odd and a once in a lifetime event.

My brother's roommate left a DX Shark on top of a lava lamp overnight. Melted a perfectly round hole right in the middle.
Amazingly enough, it was still a very true flyer.

I was throwing a hyzer shot on a hole over a road, the road ran paralell to the fairaw, I threw a high hyzer out over the road and it was looking really good, as it started to come back, it just stopped in mid air, as it turns out there were power lines also paralell to the road, we got up to it and realized there were actually two power lines clamped together and the disc was just thin enough to wedge perfectly between them, never again... I left it there for a reminder.

Same thing happened at the 2005 MSDGC at Pyramids. Immortalized on the DVD.

This weekend I had a 20ft putt through two trees that were within 10ft of the basket. I accidently broke my wrist and the putter bounced off the tree and into the basket.
I must have used up all my disc golf karma on that hole as I triple bogied the next one.

I had a triple riccochet ace.
I also nearly lost my disc during a doubles round. I threw a roller approach and it went into some weeds. With three spotters we knew precisely where it went in but couldn't find it.
Then we finally found it three feet underground in a groundhog's hole.

I left a Lightning Rubber Putter (orange) in my back window at a course while I plyed 2 rounds on a very hot summer day. When I returned, there was an 'X' shaped rip in the middle of the disc. There were corners of the X peeled back on top of the disc. It's hard to explain, but basically the disc exploded.

Well an almost ace that was just awesome to watch. Nothing happened to the disc besides a ding.
Hole 15 Dretzka last year. It was about 30 to 40 mph head wind and I flipped my drive and it then turned into a roller straight down the tunnel fairway boucing about 6 times hard fighting the wind. The speed of the disc increased with each bounce fighting the wind. The hole was in the middle position with large rocks behind it. On it's last bounce it slammed into the rock and bounced back through the basket and landed a foot away. We were all like " NO FRICKEN WAY DID THAT JUST HAPPEN"
I had about a 15 ft. putt, from behind heavy brush. My only chance was to motor though and hope to hit somthing and not blow by the basket, So I take the shot and my Pro D Magnet goes though the limbs and folded though the basket for birdie!! :p

I was playing a round with my approach putters for practice during a windy fall day. While I was walking up to a drive that was in the fairway, a branch got blown off of a tree, fell straight down and speared my favorite 3X JK Aviar. That was one of those slow motion moments when you see it happening in front of you but are powerless to do anything about it. The disc still flew true, but was now illegal for tournament play.

It was a bright and sunny day. I could feel the breeze just off my left shoulder as I approached my marker. I slowly got my stance behind the marker and I looked up to peer at the basket. With the sun glazing down on the brim of my hat. I went into my motion. It was a paralyzing 20 foot putt. I slowly pushed my wrist and the disc released perfect. Hit dead center chains and with the beautiful sound, ching! I reached down to receive my mini. And I hear behind me Someone say DRETSKA!(cough). As I look up to see my putter spit right through the back of the basket. :D Craziest thing but all to common thing to happen my disc. :D

way back in the 80's,I played all alone in this huge forest on objects(trees and trashcans). One of the holes was towards a pole which was about 300 feet away. There was a girl sitting well behind the hole reading a book.I am guessing but she was easily 150 feet behind the hole. Now in those days I played with Aeros(we didn't have any other discs in Holland) and there was no way that I could throw that far but when I released the disc some wind just came up.The disc just lifted and kept on going.I could not believe it.then the next thing I saw, was, that my disc was going straight to that girl.I shouted but she was to far away to hear me.The disc landed straight in here face. After a very long run,I finally uttered the words;I am so sorry, this has never happend to me,etc. She was raging mad at me so I offered here something to drink or eat, just to calm her down. She refused and while I was walking away I thought, hey maybe she likes to smoke a 420?I turned around and asked if she wanted to smoke one.To my surprise she said yes.So we did and I talked to her for about 2 hours.huh,it was great! So I guess the best way to pick up girls is,you just hit them. :D

Because Dretska in Milwaukee has baskets that have a tendancy to spit local players and it is are saying.

I've had an ace after hitting a tree 15 feet behind a basket with a x-clone.
Hit a UPS truck on Lamar and had the disc hit the basket. Old hole #13 at Pease. A couple years later I aced that hole with no extraneous help :D
Had a guy on my card shatter his cyclone into 6-8 pieces. It was tough trying to find the largest piece to mark his lie for the next shot :o

I was playing a PDGA event at my home course with Craig Gangloff and Mark Spang two years ago. Craig has a 35 footer for birdie. He bangs the chains about three inches from the top of the basket and it awkwardly falls in for the deuce. Craig emphaticly declares "now that is as high as you can hit a putt and have it still go in." Now Mark who has a 25 footer for bird apparently took Craig's remark as a challenge. He proceeds to hit the top of the basket. The disc stalls on the edge and rocks three times and then falls in for his deuce. To which I said "No Craig, that's as high as you can hit and have it still drop in!

playing a round last winter with two friends, We were teeing up on a short fairly open hole, I commented to my buddy that this was perfect disc breaking weather, he had never heard of a golf disc breaking so we all stood there for a few minutes and explained to him that when it gets that cold, the older dx plastic especially has a tendancy to get brittle and will break, so my other buddy then steps on to the tee with a vintage domey dx cobra and tosses his shot, very slow flight since the hole is under 200 the disc is about 75 feet in front of us and it turns a little to much and grazes a tree limb that could not have been bigger around than my thumb, in slow motion the disc explodes, shattered into red shrapnel, both of us watching immediatly bust out into hysterical laughter... It wasnt till we got up there and realized that the biggest piece of the disc we could find was a rim chunk about 4 inches long and an inch wide how incredible the entire thing really was.
never seen a disc get vaporized before or since :D

In 1996 I stayed with a buddy of mine in Charlotte,Nc(Alan Beaver)for about 4 months.I live in Holland(yes I am not an American) and I used to play alot of rounds at Killborne and Reedy Creek(I even designed a nice course with Alan/Mint Hill).Any way,I was playing a round with some buddies at Killborne and just before the round started they asked me when I was going back home.I replied;not before I get an ace or get laid /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif On the 2nd hole I got an ace and three days later I got laid.hahaha.I guess sometimes you just have to say these things out loud....It works! :D
