I apologize if there's already a thread for this event but I did put a search on the event name and didn't see anything. Will there be a pre-reg list somewhere? Any details you can tell us?
I did check the BG website but wanted to get people talking about this one! I always love BG's events!!!! I know the women's field was huge last year. Will it be a repeat??!!!

I don't have the code yet to post the pro pre-reg's. I will make sure and get them up by next week somewhere. With all the am's coming in I haven't had the time to try and get that.
As for online sign-up they didn't set that up - maybe next year.

Apr 05 2006, 10:51 PM
Hello? Hello? Any one in BG monitoring the board? I'm beginning to wonder if there really is a tournament this weekend...no online signups, no banter on this board, no action on the BG website or message board, a bunch of perennial players registered in other tournaments the same weekend, website homepage still about Am Weekend....and it's supposed to be a NT Event? Sort of spooky. I realize everyone down there is probably still recovering from the Bowling Green 500 (or more), but still...
What is the order of the courses for Open?
Will we be able to sign up at the tournament hotel on Friday?
Any word on the weather for the weekend?
Will the preregistered players be listed on the PDGA web scoreboard?

Apr 06 2006, 03:13 PM
Well sorry I think I am the only one that check the PDGA and I have been busy still. Will try to make sure things are better next year.
The courses played will be the same as other year. A- Sat. Hobson, White Sun- Kereiakes, Lovers. B pool will be the opposite of that. Sign-up is at the Sante-Fe Resturant (6-9pm) which is where the player party is. It is on Scottsville Rd which is the main road in Bowling Green. Looks like it might rain a little on Sat morning but not going to have the temps we had for the Am's. They will list the pre-registered players Friday night after check-n.
AviarX
Apr 06 2006, 05:48 PM
Larry, is that likely to work out as the B pool meaning all non-Open entrants (Masters, Pro Women, etc.)?
Also, when you say B pool will be the opposite do you mean B pool will play Saturday White first then Hobson or that B pool will play saturday Keriakes and Lovers???
allchains
Apr 06 2006, 07:28 PM
A- pool will be open men
B- pool will be overflow if needed and Master and Women
Yes B-pool will be on the opposite course that A pool playes but they will play the same courses the same day.

-9 on white is incredible, I was happy with a -2 last weekend for ams. I think there are about 12 or 13 birdie(able) holes out there, but even if you get them all you have to stay in bounds on those narrow fairways with all that darn O.B.
I'll take 18-20 mph winds anyday compared to the 25+ we had last weekend during the final 9. I just remember thinking how hard it was going to be getting a 3 on the 620 ft uphill hole number 5 with the 30 mph wind in my face. I got a circle 5 :obut finished par for the final 9 :)

I had Eight Birdies last year at White and ended up w/ 1 over of course a tripple bogey and a double bogey work quickly on birdies. It's possible... I am beginning to think 15 to 18 mph winds are perfect playng conditions in TX we have had 20 to 30 for what seems like months now.
Wish I coulda made it this year.

I had the privilege of traveling to BG for the first time this past weekend, and man I'm impressed. Not only was the disc golf community amazing, but the whole city was welcoming and open and happy that we were there!
It was fantastic to see some old friends like Juliana and Shawn, continue some budding friendships like with Rick and Sylvia, and begin some new ones with the likes of Scott McFarland and Ernie Small. Great job running the tournament Scott and Ernie...very smooth.
The play was amazing, as Barry's 1098-rated round had mostly everyone shaking their heads on Saturday. It was really cool seeing how happy Barry was too coming into the scoring center, essentially mocking the 25-30 mph winds with his discs! Simply incredible. Kenny is a pleasure to be around; what an interesting person. And Justin Bunnell is clearly a budding star in disc golf with a putting game like that. Phil had a tough last round, but handled it with the grace and poise he carries with him always. Burl...you're awesome, and Jay and Des, I have the utmost respect for all you do for disc golf. Oh yea...Brian Mace...thanks for hitching your wagon to our great game brother. You're almost home.
Anyway, I'm very much enjoying my travels around the country with the National Tour. I'm learning a ton and being treated well every step along the way.
See everyone in Houston!
John D.
p.s. Got to see Nickel Creek Saturday night at an 800 seat theater. Though it's been sold out for two months, I had sixth row on the aisle! Way to go Kim and Brandi from the Capitol theater! I cannot thank you enough.

That 45 is at White, right? What's par there, 59? 60?
Parkntwoputt
Apr 10 2006, 05:23 PM
Some holes might be par 4's. But a buddy of mine who played up there said Barry did that with two 4's!
SSA is 52 (53 if it is windy!) according to past results. Even as an Am I am upset not shooting under 54. There are plenty of birdie opportunities to make up for the occasional 4 that you might get.
Par can be 72. 45 on that course is unhuman.

Apr 10 2006, 05:35 PM
45 at White? That's absolutely incredible.
Just going through the course in my mind, I figure 43 is about as good as you can get assuming accurate drives up to 400 feet, no aces or 100+ foot hole-outs, and hitting every putt inside 30 feet. If Barry really had two 4s on his card, it would appear those are the only flaws in the round and he got pretty much every deuce out there.
Wow.
--Josh
I've played White a total of 3 times and shot a 48 EVERY time I have played it (2002,03,05) and I am a VERY AVERAGE golfer. I am currently the by!tch of 4 AM players in my own home town.
Sure 45 is probably the best score recorded on it during the tourney but the 1098 rating should be on hold until he does shoot 43 which will probably be next year. The ratings are getting out of control, every week someone is playing 1060 golf

If your talking about Billy and Conners, then you are wading deep in sand. You are an average top pro ;) (if it is possible to be a top pro and be average). Shooting -6 at white is dead solid shooting, and that is what the best Am did in BG Am's (although he did ace the dinker #12 that round).
Shooting under 54 is very feasible, but you have to have accurate 400ft drives or it will never happen. And I am willing to bet that only a very small percentage of DG'ers over all can do that.

I'm as good as the best AM! YES!!!!!! Awesome.
I can still handle the Commish Mike Conners, but LUND, Devan the ******, and lil Justin Bougher have been kicking my arse everytime I have played this year. Both Lund and Bougher finished in the top 15 at BG ams. Devan the ****** wasn't quite as fortunate but big head syndrone from finishing 3rd in Open the week prior did him in. ;)

Guys,
Just got back from BG. Had internet issues to a certain extent all weeknd.....thunderstorms caused some havoc Friday night and knocked out internet access in town in various places.
As far as the live scoring went on Sunday in rounds 3 and 4, I made a decision to keep live scores for the division most in contention, which was the women in both rounds. Barry had a 7 shot lead after rounds 2 and 3, and 6 shots after round 4. Des, Juliana, and Burl were within 2 shots of each other after round 2, and within 4 shots of each other after round 3. Had trouble with the live scoring for a few holes during the finals, but got caught up after hole 3.
Payout should be up later this evening. Working on getting it up now.
