Scoot_er,
Why didn't the Long Ranger take off? Was the Jet Eye really a Bullet? Do you have a Rock N Roller for sale?

Well considering I wasn't even born when those came out I will just have to say NO. The Jet eye was FAST though. :D

I made some pretty long putts with the Long Ranger when I was a newbie - lots of 50-80 footers. That disc worked for me. Really hard plastic.

I use it as a protective device.

Scoot_er, is it true that George Lucas used the Jet Eye disc as the basis for the Star Wars story?

Opps.................way before your time. A brief description for you :

The Jet Eye I have , looks like a type of Destiny Discs Aviar.
The plastic is close to that of special blend. The hot stamp has a Eye in the center of a Pyramid.
The rim depth is deeper than a Aviar , but shallower than a Super Puppy. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Yes , I'm one of the Dinosaur kids.
Playing Disc Golf , before Pole-Holes in 1976.

I don't have all the plastic like some , but I do have the Complete Disc Golf History of plastic Evolution !!!!

Oh , could I ask you what your first Golf disc was ?

My first disc golf disc was a PAT'D PENDING Aero. I have the Rock N Roller, Bullet, Jet Eye, Lazer, Whizback, Puppy, and Long Ranger in my Destiny collection.

DGA Midnight Flyer mold 80 198grams in 1979,
Well before that I played with a set of WCF-frisbees before that (mold80,50 and 40), broke very easy, had to buy new ones twice a month :(

My n1st disc was a 180g scorpion. I though that the bigger "frisbees" were better and it was tough for a 11 year old to chunk that thing. :D

I was using Wham-o Glow-in-the-Dark 133g. and 141g. catch discs when I started. I thought my 133 was the best distance disc there was. Then I got an Aviar (with a La Mirada stamp), tried throwing it the same as the others, and it flew so different I didn't like it. Then one day I tried it again and released it the way it is supposed to be flown. It crushed all the others I was using at the time!! That's when the beveled-edge revolution swallowed me up! Probably around '84 or '85.

My first was a girl named Kendall...oops, wrong first! :o

Like John my first golf discs were catch discs, before any discs were made specifically for disc golf (40 and 50-molds, mostly). My favorite "driver" was a Turquoise first-run World Class 40-mold. My first "official" golf disc was a DGA 40-mold Night Flyer, 133 grams (#8). Even the PDGA membership discs I received were unweighted - a match set of white 40 and 50-molds.
