it's a cross between my Gateway Backpack bag and my Revolution Carolina Bag in rust! pretty cool, but i'd rather have a bag that i can use quadshocks with. Once you get quads there is no going back!

p.s. Will: you gotta get down to the new course in south jersey some time... you 21 yet? we can go to the casinos since i live 15mins from Atlantic City.

Has anyone seen these or have more pictures than the website has, I'm thinking about getting one for a carry-on when I go to tournaments because it looks like it can hold a lot more than the discs. Feedback would be greatly appreciated

Looks great though, I still have not tried out the gateway pack though

I'm defnintely not planning on purchasing one of these bags because $145 for a piece of luggage when I have other bags (MY FAVORTIE MY GDS BACKPACK) I was just saying Id like to see more pics of this and if I bought it that would be my only use.

Hey-

I just got a bunch of photos of the new REVOLUTION Dual Pack posted on the website. Here's a link:

http://www.discgolfer.com/

This takes you to the main page. In the column to the left there's a link for the Dual Pack Tour. The tour includes a few images with the bag on and six other detail pictures of the side and back of the bag.

Thanks!

How strong and padded are those straps ?

Is there any guarantee if the bag or straps tear or rip ?

Quick-

The straps are well padded - made of a little denser foam than the Phenix Quads - and contoured to fit nicely on the shoulder. The points where the straps mount into the top of the upper compartment have reinforced stitching, then are finished with the same nylon taping that covers every seam on the bag.

Like every REVOLUTION product, we guarantee the Dual Pack against any kind of defect in materials or workmanship. If the strap were to separate from the bag, that would certainly be considered a defect in workmanship and we would repair or replace for you no problem.

But that's not something I'd lose any sleep over...

Thanks for checking it out!

You are, indeed, an expert at repelling other folks :D, but if you're talking about inverse rock climbing, it's rappelling.

Hey-

Not sure if you've seen it, but there's a new photo "tour" of the REVOLUTION Dual Pack:

http://www.discgolfer.com/dual.html

It's got a bunch detail images as well as a few of the bag on. Haven't tried it for rappelling or spelunking though. Probably won't so we'll leave that to Ray.

Thanks,

Looks interesting. How many discs does it hold in the main compartment?

dave9921
Apr 06 2006, 02:52 PM
Rhett-

The main compartment holds 12-14 discs with the internal frame in place - the same as all the REVOLUTION full-sized bags. The upper compartment could easily hold the same amount.

Thanks,

-Dave

What about the side pockets. I have an Innova Tour Bag right now, with the main compartment jammed full and one of the side pockets filled with 4 or 5 discs. The other side is junk storage.

I'm thinking that Pack could really weigh me down! :)

Can we get some weight comparisons? Carolina w/frame, Pack w/frame, and maybe a couple lighter ones? Have you guys been testing these? How does it feel on your back. Is it hotter (I would think so, but that depends on the material you are using to cover the backpad). Does it ride higher/better than quadshocks?
I would also like to know if the side pockets are big enough to hold a disc, or are they smaller than a Carolina side pocket?
I like the tour of the pack, but I would like to see some discs in things in a couple of shots for scale, so we can see how big the top pocket, back pocket and side pockets are.
And one more question, how wide is it compared to the Carolina bag?

Looks like a pretty cool pack. I wish someone up here in the mountains of CO had one so I could take a look at it. Seems like it would be good for days when you need an extra layer of clothing just in case one of those winter storms hits us. I hate to have to drag around a hoody or jacket threaded through the towl loops of my Carolina bag ... they always get fifthy.

Has anyone bought one yet and tested it out?

I would like to hear some reviews on the Revo bag.

Hey-

Although the side pockets are slightly smaller on the Dual Pack than the Carolina TEAM Bag, you can get 3-4 discs (I was using Cyclones for the test) in each side pocket. The main compartment is exactly the same size as the main compartment on all our TEAM Bags and uses the same exact internal frame yielding a depth of 9-10" at the top of the bottom compartment.

As for weight, the Dual Pack is 4lbs with just the frame inside it. The Carolina TEAM Bag is 3.5 lbs with jus the frame inside it. However, when you add the Quadshocks, the bag, frame, and straps come to a little over 4lbs.

Personally, I think the Dual Pack configuration is very comfortable to wear. Unlike the typical bag and dual strap setup, it really feels like the weight is distributed much higher on the back. Add in the waist strap and you can carry a lot of stuff without feeling much pressure on your shoulders.

While I wouldn't want to jam the upper compartment full of discs, I do think it is very useful for those times when you need to carry an extra jacket, sweatshirt, or towels Plus, the bag isn't any heavier than a Carolina with quadshocks for those times when you don't need to carry the extra goodies.

I realize this bag isn't going to be for everyone, but I do think a lot of people will really dig it once they start getting out there. We have the luxury of producing a very specialized "niche" product and waiting for the right players to find it.

Thanks,

-Dave

It sounds pretty good to me. I could put 3 or 4 specialty discs in each side pocket and then have the whole top left over for junk. :)

Nice work Dave...I would say all the Revolution bags are top of the line. I have had mine for over a year and it still looks brand new! Keep up the good work and setting standards for disc golf bags. The price may seem high people, but these bags will last you for years! Think of it as $35-40 per year and it won't seem so bad!
