Bert...a lot of us use State dubs to get ready for World dubs...it is really good practice(same formats)...they would have finished in the bottom third of interjrweenie division...sounds like your scared :o

If they play grand masters you won't cash. Live Oak will represent well no matter what division. Don't tempt them, careful what you wish for. ;) :D

You have got to be joking right? Your accusing a 50 year old and a 62 year old of bagging because they want to play in a large field of Intermediate players.
How about you start your own division of "cry babies" and then you can win and everyone can call you a World Champ in a 1 player division.
Jim and David are two great guys and have all the right in the world to play in Int Men.
While I am at it, learn how to start threads in their correct area.
Thanks for the laugh.

PDGA Intermediate ratings must be <915. Before his 4th place finish playing Intermediate division at the VICTORIA OPEN and 1st place finish playing Adv. Grandmaster division at TEXAS STATE DOUBLES (AM), David's rating was 904 (as of 14-Feb-2006). If your rating goes to 915+, you must play in any Advanced division. No offence intended towards David or Jim. I'm sure that they are both great guys and players !!!
Sorry that I started this poll in the wrong category Chris !

This is not about cash !!! It is about playing by the rules.

I'm sure that John doesn't need any warnings to make sure that players are eligible for the divisions that they are playing in during an event. However, the current ratings say that they are eligible, and they won't be updated until after the event.
What rules are you worried about being broken ? Even if the results of one event (doubles events are not rated) could raise his rating 10+ points, it couldn't do it until April 18th.
I don't see any rules in jeopardy of being broken.

You are absolutely correct Gary but, I do see a strategy of keeping your rating <915. :D
gnduke
Mar 18 2006, 02:18 PM
The only problem with the strategy is that you have to loose quite a few to make up for the one you "decide" to win or your rating will jump aove your target.
I gave the idea some thought when ratings first came out, and decided it was a loosing proposition overall, and not worth worrying about someone trying to do.

Bert,
If you wanted to play against the "champs", you should have come to the Texas State Doubles. I believe there was two former state champs there and of course the present state champs.
Also, if you really knew David, then you would know trying to control his rating other than trying to raise it, was the last thing on his mind.
Actually, we heard you were going to be there (World's), so we decided to play in Int where the real competition would be. :D
You have got to be joking right? Your accusing a 50 year old and a 62 year old of bagging because they want to play in a large field of Intermediate players.

So, what is the point to all of this? They have the CHOICE to play an age protected division or a non-age protected within their ratings. If all you want is to play them, ask where they are playin and follow. Dont really get what the point is/was.
alirette
Mar 21 2006, 09:39 PM
That is the point. He posted that he and his partner would be playing Adv. Grandmaster at AM WORLD DOUBLES. I signed up with my partner for that division but, they signed up for Intermediate instead.
