I had a great time in Phoenix for the Memorial, my 1st NT! I've got the bug and would like to do some more traveling and go to another NT event. Although the KC WideOpen is closest and I'd have a place to stay I'm open to suggestions. I'd also have a place to stay in Portland. I'm a teacher with June-mid August off so that is also a factor as I wouldn't have to take a day or 2 off to get some practice in.
So, if I only have time and $ for one other where should I go and why?
thanx,

bowling green bye far hands down... biggest am touney that is not a major!!!
Having never been to KC Wide and living in Portland, I'd say I'm biased at best. :D
KC Wide: All of my friends that have travelled to Kansas City for the Wide Open have had nothing but positive things to say about it. One of these guys is usually pretty critical, and even he raved about the KCWO.
Beaver State Fling: This is a great "Up and Coming" NT that would love to have you as our guest. The courses are very challenging, which can be a change of pace if you are accostomed to playing the duece or die type of courses that are found in parks in every state across the nation (Oregon included). Milo McIver Park and the River Bend disc golf courses make such use of elevation, trees, distance, and OB, that players that want to score well need to consider the landing areas to set up shots to the basket.
Much of the course along the Clackamas River. There are views of Mt. Hood all around the park. What can I say? It's a pretty place to play golf.
With either choice, you'll have a blast and not be let down. If you go to the KCWO, I'll be let down. :D
If you decide to come out to the BSF, drop me a line at the email address in my profile, and I can help answer any additional questions you may have. Also, mosey on over to the 2006 Beaver State Fling web site (http://beaverstatefling.com/) for more info.
Hard choice for you. Good luck!

Having played both of these events and most of the NT events that have been offered, both KC and BSF are equally great each having different fun things to outside of Discgolf. The courses at KC are a liTTle beTTer but the Players party and surriunding scenery in Oregon are AMAZING....Yeah FULL SAIL Brewery Tour. Also KC has BOULEVARD Brewing

Skylands classic, its on one of the highest rated courses in the country, has a sweet players party and great atmosphere, not to mention that its your best bet to qualify for the USDGC.

The Skylands Classic at Warwick (NY) is just one hour from NYC, one of the most fun cities on the planet. In 2005, the day after the event, many of the players hung around and spent the day in Manhattan, in Central Park, and at a NY Yankees game. We're planning a similar day for this year's event as well, with possibly a visit to the Brooklyn Brewery, our major sponsor.
The Brooklyn Brewery lavished us with excellent sponsorship in 2005, and will again this year. The lakefront players party with a band, all the good food you could consume, and kegs of Brooklyn Brewery's finest ales was unanimously proclaimed as one of the year's best.
And of course we had a great return of entry fees and one of the highest added cash purses of any NT event.
Not to mention the Warwick course with the 4 different permanent layouts. We set the bar so high in 2005 for our first ever NT event that we now have a reputation to uphold. So we're busy working on some cool ideas that will put our event on a whole new level entirely.
Watch for developments in the next few weeks.....
On-line registration is now available. See our flyer for info by clicking on the National Tour icon on this website or go thru www.nynjdiscgolf.com (http://www.nynjdiscgolf.com)
