Maceman Doubles on Friday, flex start 2:00-6:00pm., bring your partner dubs.
Saturday morning, sign-ups will stop @ 8:30am., players meeting @ 9:00am.
Players pack will be a Dri-fit type Tournament Tee.
I have had players ask me about payouts. One player said he was told that we would have a 200% payout for the Ams. I have never said anything like that, and will not. Payouts will be calculated after lunch on Saturday. Until that time, I have NO idea what the payout percentage will be. We will use the PDGA payout tables for all payout calculations. If possible, we will add to the Am payout. BUT, until everything is complete, I won't know what amount that will be, IF any!
Added cash to the Pro purse: $1200.00. One of our sponsors had to pull out. The $500.00 that he promised will NOT be available. We are victims of the outrageous gas prices. He just can't make up the difference in what it's costing him to run his business. I was excited about his donation, but I did not get it from him at the time. My fault! I am still trying to secure cash for pro sponsors, but the above figure is what we have now.
Pro players will not recieve a player pack. Tee shirts will be available for purchase.

Jerald, wish you were here!
Kenny, you obviously don't know what you are asking for with that bring on the heat thing. Fortunately, we're gonna get a break from the heat, with highs in the low 90's.

Congrats on a great payout Bobby and the Windriders. That's how to do it. :D
Well played JD.
Gordo, looking at those scores of yours I think you should stick to Advanced for a few more years. :D Sounds like some guy called Cruz who used to be all talk. Something in that Lubbock water.
Again great payout Windriders.

251% Pros
237% Ams
(at least according to the TD report)
Only two players in Rec have a rating....neither qualify to play Rec. Did they both get permission from the comp director or both fly in under the radar?
Nice Pro payout btw!!
Congrats to all the winners. Marcus, Marcace, Marcass (whatever spelling you prefer) wins old farts again. My old friend Glenn 'Bo' Neil wins advanced. Way to go man! Jeff Ho-nesorge beat his old roomie Troy S-Ho-les. :) What happened to Larry? He get tired or sumin? Worst three words in disc golf....not "you're still out"...they are "Here comes Larry". And where was the 3 time World champ Vicente? His absence allowed a certain Sandy one to grab a share of third in the Advanced old fart division. Congrats on the win Patrick. I hope everyone had fun. Thanks again Bobby for running it.

Bobby and Crew,
You guys did an awesome job. I hope you didn't take my ribbing too seriously :D You guys look to have everything under control, that was a good Duck imitation.
Thanks for coming out that last round with the water and gatorade. I'd accidentally left my water in the car and my Gatorade had just ran out after being diluted with water. Lifesavers
I hope I can make it back next year.

Great win Patrick!! Its good to see a guy that puts in sooo much time and effort into promoting disc golf get a win playing disc golf! :D
Gordo losses 2 tournies in a row?!?!? Great win, Bo!! You have been playing well all year...and, it shows with this win!!
Jeremy Doyle bags again....figures ;)
Seriously though, its looks like it was great event....hopefully, I can make it next year :D

Thanks Jerry, thanks Gerald, Jerald, or whatever :D. HCL has been a very welcome prase in his second life of disc golf. The old fart is like the energizer bunny...keeps on working (and talking, dude). Much of the quality of the course is due to Larry. It's sad that he gets so wore out preping the course that he couldn't continue playing (he was in a pretty good position when the battery ran out). :( We should have a much easier time preping the course for the Cotton Pickin' in October.

It was a shame Larry wore out in the middle of the second round. Many thanks to Larry for all the hard work he has done for the course and the club. It would have been fun to catch a round with him., on my way up the division from last place.

I want to give big props to Bobby, and all of the Lubbock Crew. As usual they rolled out the red carpet for everyone and put on a top notch event. I am not sure what more you have to see to convince you that it is worth the trip, but the thing you can't see in the numbers in the course that all of this takes place on. I have been to Lubbock 8 to 10 times and the course has never looked better. It is not your run of the mill pan handle cotton field. :cool:Everyone needs to keep this event on your must attend list for next year. Stop making excuses and start making plans to be there. :D

I'm back home and back to work . Had a great time in Lubbock. Some random thoughts:
Thank you, Bobby and the rest of the Windriders.
Great to meet and play with a bunch of new and old friends. The low Masters turnout didn't make a difference to me. Marcace was almost beatable on his home course. Congrats, big guy! Fun playing with Kyle Norrid, Bob Gann and Maceman.
Weather was hot and humid, but there was enough fluids staged around to keep everyone hydrated.
Congrats to all of the other winners: Bo(nice bus), Patrick(he threw his leg at the ring of fire!), JD Ramirez, Emily Brown(great pottery work), Jeremy(nice shirts), etc.
Gordo, it was nice you let me catch you that last round.
Joe Acosta takes first in CTP.
Larry Foster totally took charge of cleaning up the course.
Great to see Sherri, Albert, Bachica, and Vicente and other Windriders like my nephews, Jon and Chris(we'll play a round as soon as you guys come to visit CA).
I took 2 of the 5 ring o' fires.
The ratings seem a little low. I think they'll change when the course specs are sent in.
I didn't see one Open player throw a single shot during the tourney, probably because the course is so spread out. Would have liked to see some of those boys go big on some of the longer holes.
And finally, thanks Rob, for putting me up, feeding me, and getting me to the course every day. Let's do it again some time. KL

About 10 min. before the players meeting, I found Adam Gann's father. I told him that we didn't have any other Jr. players. He told me that Adam had already told him that he wanted to play Rec, if nobody else showed. I just switched him to Rec and never even thought to look at his rating. He is only 14 yrs old. Both players playing in a division they shouldn't have been is my fault. I didn't follow through on my end.

I would like to thank all of the players that made the decision to play in this years BAB. We hope that everyone had a great time and came away with a new respect for our course and club. We are very fortunate to have an outstanding Parks and Rec Department. They provide us with the finest facilities around. Many thanks to the Windriders that helped. A LARGE thank you to Larry Foster. I worked with Larry all week and watched an old man give his heart and soul to make our course shine. Thank you Larry! I would like to thank my wife, Brandi, who was there from sun up to sun down. She did all of the computer entry, as well as helping with the score verification. She went to the store Sunday, loaded coolers up with water, Gatorade, and sodas, then drove around to every card and passed out cold drinks. Thanks Baby! A special thanks to my boys, Tyler and Zack. Zack helped with registration, hydration of players, and moral support for the TD. Tyler provided 2 John Deere Gators from his employer, Hurst Farm Supply. He was there every morning to fill and distribute the water buckets. His wife Kenna was there every day to help with scores and provide moral support for the TD. Thanks again everyone. I couldn't have survived without your support.
Saturday, after the first round, Rob Lee came up to me and told me to add $500.00 from the Windriders. Thanks Rob! We added the $500.00 to the Am payouts. It helped offset player packs and trophies.
Speaking of trophies, Emily Brown produces some beautiful champions chalices. I am so impressed with our trophies that she made for us. Thanks Emily and Dagon. Contact them at
[email protected]
Jeff O, the Windriders will never be able to repay you for your kindness and generosity. Thanks for your support, and thanks for dinner Saturday night. Gilberts ROCS!!!

Great job with the tournament Bobby and the Windriders. That was a great payout, like always. Wish more tournaments could be like BAB. Next year I definately plan on making the drive and I'll drag Jerry "the Legend killer" Perez out there with me.
