NEW Protoype putt and approach available through Gateway:
We have a new partnership working with a molder and we developed a NEW Gryoscopic weight distributed golf disc. We are using 2 different plastics molded into one disc. One in the wing and the other in the flight plate.
It has an amazing glide and a comfortable feel for most plaers who have grabbed one and thrown it..
It looks like an 86 mold with roc wing and Wizard bead.
Very similair in resistabce to turn to an Element-X/KC roc but with the straight glide and fade of a Sabre, tee bird and the speed is unuasally fast 2/3rds of the way through the flight.
Weve thrown several over 375, but they are still good for 60-100 layups ( like an E Wizard)!
The 2 PART SHOT has more weight distributed in the wing and less in the flight plate.
There are about 200 1st run prototypes from about 20 different blends of flight plates and wings.
The disc look very retail sharp with contrasting colors from wing to flight plates some middles are clear translcent with solid wings. and vice-versa.
Not quite sure on the name of the disc yet or when we will send it too the dpga, as we may produce 3 -6 before we release the line.
This product may be released thorugh a 3rd party company that will be more geared for big box retailers with packageing and everything, but will still be avaialable through Gateway and our existing vendors!
Want a shot at a true prototype NO NAME YET????
If anyone is inetersted in some of these 1st prototypes, they are 2 for $25 which includes shipping ( maximum of 4 sets), call the shop or
[email protected]
Have fun with then I know I have for the past 2 days :D
Once players get then we May have to have a poll to name the disc or discs.
BTW,
The Scream is drawn and in solid works, ready to have all 3 new pieces made, but we will have a new wing for the Illusion made 1st that should hlep us with production of that disc.
We always seem to sell thellusions out and always have them on back order. :(

Brand X did a two piece disc for AMF Voit in the early 80's.
Cool to see someone using that design for golf discs. I'd like 4 of these.

this one should have been named the hybrid, but I like the bikini (get it cause its a two piece) jk, but for real I think it should be named aether (thats the fifth element). It was supposed to only exist outside the sublunar sphere and have extraordinary properties.

Mark,
We have had many phone calls and emails about this discs in only a few hours, we are down to less than 100 already.
I talked to the guy about molding some more, I am trying to find time to get back up north to make another few runs.
I have it narowed down to 4 or 5 combinations that I want to try again with different color combinations.
It's a really cool disc

I am really interested in everything that is in the works :)
What is the Scream expecting to fly like?
Also decided to add the hybrid to fill out my bag, been throwing everything fairly well this past week, even won the weekly league with new plastic... must be the player ;)
Also I was hoping to have discs to sell with me by Bowling Green Ams, I am not sure if there was a time frame for anything being sent my way for that purpose anytime soon. If I have some coming throw one of those new ones in ;) otherwise I might just wait until some more runs are made.

I am liking the Hybrid for those 375' shots. Has anybody got one beat up yet in the new white e plastic, and what are they flying like.
I am thinking like an overstable kc pro tee bird.

I have a white one that is getting there, flys a little more overstable than the 11x teebirds I used to throw. I have gotten some long low flex shots and some good throws into winds.

I am starting to get my 172g White E-Hybrid to flip up finally. Although the bad part was that the first time it did it I wasn't expecting it and threw a big wide hyzer and it didn't quite make it back to the hole. Still got my duece by a miracle putt...but it is definitely getting to where I can use it for a hyzer flip type of shot for 320-350.

Got my shipment of the new two piece hybrids today.
Definitely different.
The only that it remotely resembles would be the old style aeros from the 80s and early 90s. And even then I'm only talkin the exterior shape and profile.
The underside and inside rim are absolutely unique to this mold (or is it molds since it's a two piece?)
Thanks for the great color variety, Dave!
Fast delivery too!
The one disc I got looks like a slice of watermelon. It's green on the outside piece and water melon red on the inside with black specs that could pass as seeds.

Did you throw them yet?
I am hoping to hear some feedback on grip, feel and flight.
The color combinations are cool.
We willl have some rims and tye dyed middles soon, along with some really cool glow color combinations!
I thought from the looks they would be flippy but their NOT!
The odyssey is truely a multi functional disc with a wide range of uses. The stable performance in stability form 60-350 remonds me a lot of the Wizard.
It has a great resistance to to turn and would need to be turned a bit out of the hand for best results, even on the 60 footers unless you play the subtle hyzer.
Dont be afraid to bomb one like a Sabre or other discs that can be thrown high with a little turn.

I took one out today and threw it along with five wizards.
It was very straight at high speeds, similar to my wizards, but more low speed overstable than I had expected.
I threw all six discs at various distances from putting (30') to short drives (320'). Honestly my grip (fork grip) lends itself better to the flatter wizard than to the domier (Oddysey?) hybrid.
I found it to have some real potential as a sidearm disc. My finger fit perfectly between the two inside rims. It held a very nice controllable sidearm hyzer and this is a shot I've had trouble with in the past.
Keep up the good work! I'm very pleased with your products and customer service!

Thanks for the kind words and honest review.
Some players will love the rim while others may have other thoughts.
I find it great for the power grip and fan grip, but the inner overmolded rim gets in the way for my normal putting grip.
After a few dozen more throws I am liking the flight more and more.
It is probably a bit too stable as a short puuter, but seeks to really work well for jump putts and anything up to as far as you can throw it.
We are going to run some Glow ones this weekend and also some centers out of the H which will allow us to TYE DYE some.
TYe dye in the middle and Glow on the Rim
The Scream is getiing close to release too and there will be about 4 vesrions of it within weeks of each other.
One will be regular and conventional and available in the E while we have a few more tricks up the sleeve for the other 3.One will definaitely by overmolded, but this time it will be all the way to the rim with no inner ring.
The other 2 versions are a secret for now!
But since I'm not too good with secrets well see if I can keep it on the down low until we actually have them! ;)

I had the same problem, then I got a glow wizard with a SICKENINGLY thin flight plate which is much closer to being just plain stable and is great for sliding anny putts or stall/drop shots requiring a dead drop.

I like the idea of a beadless wizard, but if the rim ends up being anything like an XD, I'd hate it. The bottom of the XD just feals horrible in my hand.

When we make the magic the rim depth will be the same as the Wizard, in fact I'm guessing most players wont really be able to tell the difference in their hand with just a putting grip.
The Scream is ALL NEW pieces, wraithish like most likely witha bit more reistanct to turn so that it can be thrown in windy considitions.
Since there will be several versions, it should cover a wide range of stabilities.
Any more reports on the flight of the Odyssey?

I got the chance to throw a lot of the prototypes this past weekend at one of our local tournaments. Dave had a wide array of weights for us to try out.
I was absolutely blown away by the speed of this disc. For a putt and approach, it had surprising speed for the first 2/3rd's of its flight. I would rate its stability to that of a KC Roc or Z-Wasp. When started out on a reverse-s, these things just sail. I saw Dave bomb quite a few of them. Mike Robinson absolutely crushed one too.
I really like throwing them. I would really like to see a driver mold with this type of technology. I think it would be pretty sweet.
I will post more feedback when I throw it some more.

I threw ine of these this weekend and from abpout 100ft it was straight when given a lot of spin and it also flew on a nice wizardish line up to about 350'. I didn't get to throw it much more than that but maybe I will find some somewhere else to try.

This weekend after Osky I went to Chicago and ran about 400 hundred more proto Osysseys.
Some are SUPER GLOW and clear in the middle, some are glow in the niddle and some are tye dyed in the middle.
I will get some pictures up soon of these new cool looking discs.
The 2st 200 went so fast, and now we have 400 more plus the Glow which we only have about 40 of.
If anyone is still inttersted in these discs while in the developmental and prototyping stage they are 2 for $25 and the limit is still 4 sets per player.
the glow/tyedyed combination and regular rubber on the rim and tye dyed in the middle will be 2 for $35!

We are really looking for feedback so I hope these discs are being bought by players opther than collectors.
We usually send a Wizard, element or Sabre with each proto order so the discs are still less than $10 each through this offer.
We are sending them to the pdga as oon as we get some more feedback.
This discs will proabaly be introduced through our new Recreational line, even though the flight is as good as any disc on the market.

I used a 174g one yesterday. I used it as a putter and was suprised. The inner lip helped me get more control. I'm not an agressive putter, and come up short a lot. The inner lip sits right in the sweet spot with my fingers. I will keep it in the bag now for more practice.
The light weight clear on clear is cool. The glo's sound cool too.

I hit two putts out about 60 ft., I had put some Anny on it as it turned hard left at the end. I was hitting metal alot. Shorter putts this flew dead straight. Makes funny noise.
I didn't let it rip because it was blowing about 20 mph. I'll give that a try on Thursday.

Went out to the football field today and threw them some with my other disc. Really liked them I was getting them about 330 and that was about the max for me with them. Tried so low level shots with them but didnt get as much distance as when I threw it higher and let it work out more. Got some real nice s curves with them and I know that as soon as they get approved it will have a spot in my bag.

We are still working on some polymer blends for the Odyssey.
Weve had over 60 runs of prototypes so far.
With the 2 part shot there is sooooooo many options,
We have glow in the rim and tye dye in the middle.
Soft rubber in the rim and Clear in the middle.
We almost have tye dye on the rim and glow in the middle down to weight, a few more blends and we may be there.
I will have plenty in Bowling green at the White park, Hobson Grove and the flymart!
