I am just wondering how much STAR plastic has worked it's way into players bags?
I added a Teebird that will never leave, a sidewinder that I really like and Beast that is waiting paitently to be tested.

Too soft and grippy for my tastes.
If I have a rain tournament I will throw some of the older hard DX/Pro-D discs.
I just prefer the harder Champion/Z discs. I am not even getting a surge until it is released in Z plastic. I have not seen a benefit in my game by throwing grippier plastic in normal conditions.

The star wraith and aviar are now major players in my bag. The benefit that I see is the Boom factor, as I am throwing the star wraith farther than ever before.

i find the STAR (SB) Orcs have less high speed turn and complement my Ch. Orcs nicely. i like the grip, but it seems a little too much on the slick side and not quite enough on the floppy side for my taste. The red seems more grippy than blue so far from what i have seen though. My red SB Roc really rocks.
i am looking forward to the STAR Coyote release, and the STAR TL seems to be calling my name...
does the STAR Sidewinder have more fade than Champions or is it just more high speed stable?

Two Star Aviars - Orange 165 and Yellow 170.
One Star Wraith - Red 172.
One Star Stingray ( I love this disc ) - Blue 175.
I have been using the Stingray the longest. It's my best anheiser disc. My Star Wraith is the one to use into a head wind, very straight and predictable. Number One putter in the whole fracking world is the Star Aviar. I like the Orange one best.

You will dig the Dx Wraith. I call it cheapy distance !!!!
Dx is cheaper.
The Star Valk is hot. Thrown with a bit of hyzer , it comes up flat and slowly fades left at the end.( for a right handed thrower ). Star SL cranks too !!!! /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I just got an ace with a star wraith at Parkside in Kenosha WI on hole #8. So far I like how it flies, seems a little more stable than the champ. I dont really like the idea of it being $1 more than champ, but I think many others wont mind the extra price. Overall, I honestly went in to throwing the Star plastic with a negitave attitude, maybe because it reminded me so much of pro in my hands. But so far I have to say that my negitave attitude is changing...I have really wacked a few trees and large rocks with it and it still has pretty much the same flight path. Now that I got an ace with it, I have to like it a little more :D
Oh they dye nice too!!! Check it out... DR DYED STAR WRAITH (http://www.drdyed.com/gallery/ACED-DR-DYED-DISCS/IN_S_Wraith_test)
Its not my most intricate design. It was the 1st star disc I dyed so I wanted to see how well it would dye and how long it will hold the design. Still looks sweet spinning!!!

have you ever thought about offering custom jobs where you also wrote a players name and PDGA # on the face -- like the design you just showed on a Star Aviar with "Donny Olow" and his pdga # on it too? i bet some players would like that a lot :D
would it be do-able?

Thanks guys!!!
Just about anything is do-able :D
I dont have any star plastic in stock for sale as of yet, but anyone who wanted to could send me their plastic to dye anytime!!! PDGA#, name, geometric design, anything you name it I can dye it :D
Nice dyes. They just keep getting cooler. Great job!

That's an intriguing offer/boast....less shipping, HOW much for say, the job directly above? What would be the LEAST, and most? :p Respectfully....

i know the Coyotes got pushed back from their March ETA for arrival in Star plastic -- has anyone heard when they will be available? how about Star Starfires? -- the Champ Starfire (not the SL) is my go-to headwind disc.

What are the Star TL's flying like? i plan to get some soon...

I throw TLs as my main control driver and I love them in all forms. I have 3 172g Pros in different stages of wear and 2 171g CFRs (thank you, MSDGC). My CFRs are much more overstable than the Pros, but they have their uses and I use them a ton.
Last week I picked up a 172g orange Star and I love it. After trying out Star Teebirds, Wraiths, and Sidewinders I was expecting the TL to have the same overstability as the other models in Star. Instead, I was pleasantly surprised -- released with a bit of hyzer, it flips up, travels on a dead straight line, and ends with a very slight fade. Basically it seems to fly about the same as a new Pro TL, but I feel it will come out of a turn a bit better. This has quickly become my main control driver. It's great in the woods, for uphill shots, long anhyzers, and any kind of placement drives you need. I'm hoping to pick up another one soon.

I have been throwing Star TBs for a couple of months and loving their straight flight followed by predictable fade at the end of the flight.
I threw a Star TL a couple of times yesterday and really liked it. It was grippier than my TBs, flipped slightly when thrown hard and then faded back slightly at the end. Like throwing a Roc but longer and not as likely to hold it's flipped over line. I gotta get me some!
One thing I have been noticing about the Teebirds is they fly almost as far as my Wraiths on an average throw. I believe that's because they glide longer and don't fade out so early. Of course, when I really get into my Wraiths and get just the right flight, nothing has matched them yet.

I picked up a star SL this weekend. I've been a big fan of that mold for a while; I used to throw a lot of pro starfires for tunnel shots, as well as the CFR SL's. Unfortunatly, the pro get beat up (way) too fast, and the CFR just don't seem to have the glide. After a few rounds, I think the star SL may be a keeper. When thrown with 75% power, this thing flies dead straight. When I start getting around 85% to 90%, it's a great hyzerflip/S disc. It also has the glide the CFR was missing. I don't expect it to be a great headwind disc (neither the pro or CFR were), but on calm days were I need a really accurate shot with minimal fade, this feels like money.

So far in the bag I've got a Star Teerex, Wraith, Firebird, two TLs, Sidewinder, and an Aviar. I've been tyring to work in a Star Beast as my roller disc, too, but it hasn't quite gotten there. Man, I love this plastic though...

I like the feel of the star plastic as well, but have not been satisfied with the Star TB... i took them out of the bag in exchange for dx TB's. I do like the star winder and hope to try out the star valk and star aviars.

How do you like the Gremlin, compared to your other ones, Ray?
I want to throw one, but there are so few...
Right now in my bag are:
Star TeeRex
Star Wraith
Star TL
Star Stingray
Will probably be adding a Star Starfire too.
I want to get all my drivers to hot neon pink. That color is the best. The Star neons are the most visible things on the course... next to Discatchers, of course.

Way visible. Yesterday afternoon I found my neon pink Star Valk without actually seeing the disc. Yup, true story. The disc was slightly uphill of me totally concealed from my position, but the direct sun shining on the disc reflected the bright pink off a log six inches from the disc. Not many neon pink logs shining in the woods. :D

that same thing happened to me. I saw the reflection on some other debris before I saw my disc. Neon is the way to go. Not, say, for clothes, but definitely for discs. Never lose a disc again.... well, unless you throw them into lava, because man, they're gone.

I left my bag in the car the other day for about 6 hours. Temp was about 85 outside and about 95 in the car. My Star Wraith was in the bag and when I pulled my bag out to play I noticed the dome(fight plane) had fallen. It was totally sunk in. Its came up a little since then, but not much. Has anyone else had anything like this happen to their Star plastic?

The Star TL's are WICKED!!!!! Possibly the "truest" disc I have ever thrown....
the disc is dead on accurate.... not enough wrist, it flies straight with a big hyzer finish... too much wrist and it's 200-230' out on a straight line before it breaks anny for me.
I took it out to the Oaks in Mokena IL yesterday, and made some really beautiful shots with it... Hit just about every gap exactly as I planned.
I always stood on the tee of 19 (235? 6-8' wide the whole way) saying/thinking how could I possibly birdie this #%$&#@ hole....
throw a TL and watch it land 15' away
the TL even throws true into a headwind...
