NDGC Fundraiser Tournament (Update)
The NDGC Fundraiser tournament scheduled for April 1st at the new Hippodrome course in North Augusta has now been sanctioned as a PDGA "C"-Tier event and a Southern Nationals Qualifier. Both the PDGA and the SN Series have graciously agreed to donate their $2 player fees to the NDGC Endowment Fund. If previewing a tough Pro Worlds course and contributing to the NDGC Endowment fund wasn't enough to motivate you to attend, you will now also get PDGA points and become eligible to compete in the Southern Nationals Finals.
The ADGA invites all competitors to stay over Saturday night for a season opening cookout, campout and disc skills games at the Hippodrome followed by doubles on Sunday morning.

Is this what I think it is? A triple mandatory?

No it isn''t a triple Mando, its a multi route hole! The hole has two telephone poles in the middle of the fairway right in line and about halfway to the basket from the tee. Players have the option of throwing through the poles on a straight line or taking the hyzer or anhyzer route around them. The poles reminded Pete May of hole 15 at Winthrop, hence the name!

Sounds awesome! Thanks, Brian.

The power poles are spaced similar to the double poles on hole 7 at NAU in Flagstaff for those who remember that hole.

Looks like GM Hoeniger has been sneaking in some practice...
SSA around 64 for the new Hippodrome course ought to be a good challenge for the Worlds competitors.

SSA around 64 for the new Hippodrome course ought to be a good challenge for the Worlds competitors.
Will it really be that high? Par is 64, but I wonder if SSA will be as well.
Will the Hippodrome be this year's highest SSA course, as Nockamixon was last year?

It will easily be the highest SSA course by up to 10 shots based on this test. Scores of 64 yesterday have round ratings near 1000. I think there's SSA data from other events at Lake Olmstead, Riverview (SC) and Pendleton online.

Oh duh - the tournament results are up already. Now I understand the "Hoeniger practicing" comment. Two 1000+ rated rounds and the lowest score of the day!!!

A very special thanks to the PDGA and the Southern Nationals for sanctioning the NDGC Fundraiser tournament at the new Hippodome course in North Augusta, SC on Saturday and donating the player fees to the endowment fund. Due to participation and the generosity of the attending players and sponsors, $1,000 was raised for the National Disc Golf Center endowment fund and 100% of the field was paid out with some really nice donated merchandise.
The course played very tough as expected and it will continue to be tweaked and improved upon based upon what we learned on Saturday. Our goal is to have the course, as it will be played in the World's, completed by the end of May so that it can be used in the Augusta Classic on June 3-4.
Regards,
Brian Graham
