You've got Begg Park, and Kimball Pines in Battle Creek. I heard there is another one going in BC somewhere. Robert Morris, Coldbrook, Oshtemo, and Knollwood for the younger and less experienced divisions. One or two more courses would do it.
I can't wait for this...I will be playing Open on the courses that I started playing on!! Way to go Larry!

The parks districts and the chamber of commerce are totally behind this, which is a really big plus. Larry does not want to use Knollwood at all. He has some ideas for temp courses and the parks district has some ideas too.
Answering Rooster, Battle Creek and Kalamazoo.

Any word on Highbridge? PDGA radio said they were attempting to get a worlds but not sure what year.

Highbridge confirmed for Pro Worlds 2007 the week immediately following Am Worlds in Milwaukee. More later since I wasn't there for the approval. But I gave the presentation by phone since I couldn't travel. Mid-Nats 2007 is open for bidding by other locations since it will skip that year at Highbridge.

Sweet, I should be of caliber to play this event.
It is only a short drive from where I grew up, and less than an hour from where my parents live right now.

I think you'd probably have to trade the Am Nats to some other place that year to be fair. The backup plan for Mid-Nats 2007 is Augusta if no one else bids.

I am hoping at least your course will be playable before I move further away from the south. Right now the Drive to Augusta is still pallitable to play casual rounds.
Happy B-day, btw.

If you come to the Hippodrome event on April 2, you might be able to check out the North course, maybe with a few permanent baskets by then along with the temps there now.

I would like to, but if you look at the PDGA schedule, I will be with all the other top Am's in Bowling Green. Although I will have to compete from the B-pool all weekend, I will be trying to make the final nine, have to get in the practice for Worlds!

I'd think a Major at the NDGC is in order, shouldn't the courses to handle one be in by then?
I think the bigger tournies, when they stay in one place too long, tend to stagnate for a variety of reasons. It would be nice, I think, to get some rotation or switching up for them.
Congrats to the winning bidders and tournament teams.
Happy to help out on this end to publicize your events.

That's what they thought when they came to PW2001 in Minnesota with record heat indices around 115 that year. It was hot for Mid-Nats last year at Highbridge.

Okay, here I go agreeing with Chuck!! Unless there is a change in the weather pattern that Larry Leonard and I have experienced up there in the past, anybody who thinks they are going up north to play golf in cooler weather has not been up north in the summer and they are going to be suprised. Like Chuck said, the heat was high and the humidity surpassed anything we have down here in NC. When you get up to Michigan and those states around the Great Lakes (Mini-soda and Mitch-again and Whisk-on-son) one of the things you notice is that there sure are a lot of lakes and ponds and bodies of water everywhere, kind of like a vast endless swamp, (and I don't mean that in a bad way). There is just water everywhere. The heat up there gets around or over 100 degrees and the air is thicker than anywhere in NC. I believe their state birds up there are the mosquito. They do grow them big and they feed them well too. Be prepared to keep hydrated or else. All that being said, it is beautiful up there, the parks are huge and I have had tons of disc golf fun in Minnesota and Michigan and hope to hit the highly touted courses of Wisconsin before I get to old to enjoy them. Oops, almost too late.

What happened to Japan in 2008? I guess Virginia Beach in 2007 didn't pull through either. The Highbridge courses look sweet! I guess there won't be much complaining about driving between courses.

When checking into my first event in MN, they gave us a can of Cutters along with the players package. The car tags read, Land of 10,000 Lakes. Each lake has about a million mosquitoes. The grass and vegetation are a beautiful, lush green. Spring and summer make up for the harsh winter's.

Here's a quick tour of four Highbridge courses. We're working on a more detailed version but here's a start. Too bad the Worlds won't be around Oct 1 when the colors change as shown in several of these photos.
