Well here's the place to brag about the shot.I'm sure the stories will follow.Let's just keep them somewhat honest.Like,I aced hole 18 at BG with a 40 mph headwind.Uh? Not happening. But ,I aced hole 1 at Alma?OK we can handle that. And it doesn't even have to be an ace. What about that 200" upshot that stuck?Braggin rights belong here.Have fun!!! :D

I hate to not let him post it, but he loves when I brag on him so here goes:
Chris Shelton- the 13 year old DG prodigy from Alma, aces Alma's #13 (the wooded shot straight up an alley to the hole) today with four witnesses. He was screaming so loud we heard him at 17!! :)
He played Alma to a -14, he says, today at practice. He was in a group of 5 but I don't know how hard they were looking. Just kidding Chris!! Anyway, I'm throwing him into Pro at the Alma Greens. Some of you big boys come get a #$% Whoopin' by a 13 year old!!

While this is no 400ft ace, it is definetely my shot of the day and possibly the best of my disc golf career so far!

On #4 during the second round I hung outmy drive just far enough left to leave me a 93 footer around all the trees to the pin. I tried a hard hook around the trees with my Wraith trying to lay it close. It went out around the trees, I step out to watch it, and am just in time to watch it skip up and drop in the basket with a backspin Tiger would be proud of! It was an awesome sight!! Sad part is that was my only Birdie of the whole tournament!! I was ?Bailey'ing" 10-15 footer all day. (Barney taught me that phrase this weekend, if it offends sorry!!) :D

I'm back!!! And I can't believe Willie didn't post about his shot on hole six at Alma. We played a goodbye round on the bottom holes since they will be moved out this week sometime, and he threw a major rollover shot around the left side, through the trees, and bounced it off the ground at the base of a tree and hit chains. He about died. I missed an easy birdie putt on hole ten. Got to thinkin about how awesome it would be to birdie it before the putt, i guess.

Welcome back online TreeShark. It's been a crazy day so this is the first time I've had time to get on.
I did have an awesome shot yesterday. As he said we were playing a farewell round to the bottom holes, as they are going to move them all up top. On hole six, which has a mandatory tree line, and a rightie straight shot or a leftie hook shot, I took an old beat up 150 class Eagle around the leftie route. It cut around the trees, came in low, hit a tree right above the ground, jumped up and blew right through the chains!! It was CRAZY!!! The most unlikely shot and it bashed the chains!! That's what disc golf is all about.

Mar 18 2006, 09:31 PM
my shot of the day was at BG on hole 12
i threw a crazy unintentional roller that stopped about 15 feet short of the hole
i knocked down the putt for a birdie

duncan lake hillclimber.
two great shots of the day just different rounds on different courses. first shot of the day was on saturday first round hole 18. 125 ft out on a par shot right next to ob. a nice grouping of trees had the straight shot and the anheiser shot blocked. only way to go was to toss a big hyser over the ob. i chose the blowout roc and let it fly hoping for a good lay-up. sucker hit the chains and stayed in the basket. :D:Dwhat a shot to save par.

second shot of the day was during the second round on the lake course hole 7. hole 7 is a blind shot through a small alley going down hill. the basket is completly hidden behind a tall and wide tree. the disc i chose was the champion roadrunner. set it out on a small anyheiser line with a little bit of power. the sucker sails out clips the top of the branches 2 seconds later we hear chains. :Dfirst ace during a tournament :D:D, second ace since 94. cool thing was the card in front of us saw the whole thing. ace pot was $174. :Dtwo bad there was another ace in the third round. i ended up having to split the cash. :(
for the rest of the tournament the cards i was on called me arkansas ace. :)

according to ratings i shot 851 1st rnd, 852 2nd, 852 3rd, and 813 4th. my rating is 822 now. so for the first three rounds i did real good. almost shot par second round on the lake course. the fourth round did me in after three people dnf i was in the race for dfl, which is a situation that i have been in many times before, ended up placing 25 out of 30 counting the dnf so i beat 2 players in my division that finished. i was quite pleased with the game i played. if i held it together and shot a 852 rating during the final round i would have done pretty good. carded a double circle 7 on the shot of the day hole on the temp course that i saved for par on the first round. :mad:bummer :( ended up carding a bogey on the hole i aced to. (maybe i should of thrown the ace disc on that one )

good times with good folk in indian country. being the only arkie there at the tournament made it a little different event for me. ended up finding the ft. worth folk and joining their site. after introductions it was all family.good times can't wait to go back. :D

He's talking about the old #10 (long hole from the top of the dam) and when he says close he means he was two paces away from the old hole, straight in front og it. Would have been a 6' birdie, but with the new hole location it is now a 100-130' upshot back to save par.

Well, I'm playing again and I got a Shot of the Day (Life?) - Ace on hole 13, Alma at Sunday's mini - what sucks about that is all I got was a crummy 75 cent skin and a bunch of old men's autographs on the back of my otherwise beautiful disc, they even want me to "retire" it - they're just scared if I keep throwin it I'll grow up to kick their "masters" arses :  :o:eek:

Now here is my shot of the day.
Most of you will think BIG DEAL but to the ones who have played Alma with me you will know it is for me. The devil must have me because I have found my Devil's Fork (#9) route.....hopefully.
I shot through the gap Sunday and landed 5 foot from the basket for birdie. It took a starfire sidearm to do it but I got there. Until then, my best score had been a 4 and my worst was a 6 on that hole. So for me that was a good shot.

Also parked #17 (almost aced, 5 foot behind it) with a red DX Orc that I then left on #18 in the bushes. The good news is it was found by Colin (hope that is right, my phone was full of static when he called) and I will have it back at the Alma Green's!! Thanks Man!

Hey Bailey, normally we would be playing 51, we usually call it before the round, (I usually do ) this time we didn't, as for an ace pot, our mini's have been very informal, not really WAFDA ran, 100% payout, 51 covers the ace pool, hopefully thats gonna change since we just got official approval from our county to hold mini's at Ben Geren (making money on county land / insurance, ect - red tape but neccesary and why we have such a good relationship with our parks administrators) So very soon we'll hopefully be starting leagues & mini's officially hosted and ran by WAFDA as a fund raiser for the club with real continuing ace pots, ect. - like Fayetteville and so many other clubs do, - so lesson learned - call it and make sure we're playing 51!! Hey the signed disc has some low PDGA #'s on it, a 3,000 something and even a 1,000 something - sure to become a valued collectible - maybe Keldog or some other collector would be interested in bidding on it? :D

While this does not count as an official ace, it was cool so I thought I would share it.
TreeShark, my family and I went out to Springhill (dam) Park for the last couple days and we set up the portable out in a field to shoot at. With the basket 30 feet directly behind a tree out 222' I got an ace with my DX Orc. It just skimmed the tree and banged right in. Wish it had been an official course but anytime one goes in from over 200' out it is one heck of a shot.

As a side note, we made an early morning trip to BenGeren on Wednesday and 14 yera old TreeShark PARKED (1 1/2 feet off pole) #1 in A position (399'). Pretty awesome shot in itself!!!

Hey man, portable or permanent sounds like an ace to me!! Pretty awesome, might even be a tougher ace in a portable than in a permanent pro basket, My 1st "unofficial ace" was on a target course in Colorado, its hard to call it a real ace when you just hit a 4x4, look how many we've probably hit chains with that haven't stayed in.

Evan, have you told the story about some hot chick(at the host hotel) giving you a dollar for hearing about your ace.

I almost forgot about that, the nice lady overheard us talking about it and said that where she's from you get a dollar apparently from everyone, not just your card, amazing the different customs that one runs into at such a worldly function
luckily my card had 3 okies on it (last place card, so of course it was full of okies, I don't know how I wound up there unless it was that awful beer flavored water that they have must of still been in my system from the night before - that happened 4 nights in a row... oh the post is drifting....) so anyway luckily okies play 51 so I made $15 from my card and then with the dollar that the worldly lady from afar gave me I had the $16 that I needed to buy a new disc so I could retire my ace disc (after getting climo to sign it and him telling me what an impressive disc golfer I am...scores must not have been posted yet - and I'm lying Climo just signed it and shook my hand, that must've been what happened - Climo stole my mojo when he shook my hand - that's his secret, some sort of psychic vampirism - I better shut up I don't wanna get my rear kicked by climo) Barney mentioned strange foreign rituals with his ace also, apparently 2 on his card gave him $5 and then there was a guy that would only give up 1 dollar. We need to find out where the lady that gave me the buck is from, then I can go to their discussion board and get mo money from all of the rest of her crew, that is if they have internet and such from wherever foreign strange origin she was from... ;) World's Rocks - Darrell do you have our reservations made for Milwaukee yet?

It had been a while since there had been a post on here :(
I am :Dto say I finally have one!
I set up two baskets at the Farmington Middle schol today, and the kids who won the disc golf discs that I put into the auction went out with me to learn a bit about the game. They really enjoyed it!
As I was packing up to go back to class I threw a tomahawk with a 150 class Eagle, it rolled over landed upside down and skipped up into the basket!!
While it was just a setup hole 210' long in an open field, it was still an awesome shot! I'll take it anyday.

Yeah, of course it would have been better if I could have kept my cool and made it look like it happens all the time! :D
But not me, I'm whoopin' and carrying on like I just won the Worlds!!
(hmmmm..... so what would I do if I did win the worlds????)
(Is that a question I'll ever have to answer????)

Anyway, it was definetely a cool shot. And even better three kids went back to class talking about DG and how much fun it is!!!

Well, I finally did it. This morning at Alma I hit my first "official" Ace on hole #13!! I am not sure on the length of the hole but it is the one that used to be a real alley shot straight to the basket. I hung a brand new MS Aurora (midrange) out on the right side around the big Oak that blocks the hole, and it dive bombed right past the tree and into the basket!!

What is even more incredible is that brought me down to even par (last 3 trips at Alma have been +8, +10 and +10 due to the loss of my driving technique :( ) and then I still ended up 5 holes later at a +8 due to a TRIPLE CIRCLE 9 on hole 15!!!
Darn wind up the cliff threw three drives in a row over the fence!

Oh well, that's the real reason we play the game, right, for the joys and the agony! It is a great game!

Happy New Year Everyone. Hope we all have many Aces in our future!!

Matt Spain aced hole 8 at Tilles yesterday, Roger Koenigseder then aced a 170' safari hole in a playoff with Matt

That's Matt's 2nd Ace at Tilles in 2 weeks, he aced hole 5 last week, same guy that hit the donkey from the tee on 13 at last weeks BG mini, I got to get those dang pins in the long positions :p

Matt Edwards, same guy that bagged 06 Blowout (rec - shot 53 & 57)...Aced hole 3 in traditional tee then aced same hole same disc at the alternate tee yesterday!!

Whats up with double aces at Tilles  Played it probably around 1000 times and I've never stuck one in that stayed (losts of near aces though).

These guys are geeting good

It depends on what they consider an ace.
Maybe they are playing natural golf and call out an ace when they hit a tree.

If that is the case then I've Aced every hole I've ever played. :)

Nah, in the basket!! My first Ace I never really considered to be real, target course in Colorado, nailed that 4x4 piece of wood from 150' through crazy woods, without basket and chains its kinda hard to consider it a real ace though, it was even a giggle walking back to the car :p

Came close yesterday, nailed chains on 8 at Tilles but it blew thru, teetering on going in that drainage hole on that big culvert thing :( I've crawled through that dang tunnel and made a putt from it before though :DWould that be considered OB? I think that the rule of verticality would apply and you'd just shoot from on top of where it is below ground

oh well, I walked off the course with $2 more than I walked onto it with

OK I have to do a little brag session. My wife and I ran out to Alma this morning for a run through the back nine. It was her first time to play the two new holes. The first new hole (#13) she made a pretty nice sidearm shot up in the fairway. She was impressed b/c her sidearm is just developing, and usually not real accurate. She smacked basket on the upshot/putt (60 feet out) and had an easy lay in for par. On the next hole, I said "Let me show you the line to at least get close on, this is really not an aceable hole." At which point I tried a flex sidearm through the righthand gap, and smacked a big cedar 30 feet off the tee. She steps up and says "Why not, the last sidearm worked good" and unleashed a beauty of a flex shot through the gap. It sailed right through the gap to the left and then turned back right, to skip right under the basket and end up 10 foot out. Easy birdie!! It was a beautiful thing!
The best thing was seeing her excitement and pride in nailing the same shot I had just missed!!! Hopefully that will be something I have to get used to!!

I find your post totaly offensive.

There fore I find it necessary to report this violation to the proper authorities. :o

It is both offensive and a personal attack.

That means you will be placed on double secret probation. :o:D

OK wish I could have saved it for tomorrow, but today I Aced hole 11 at Alma, with the assistance of a cedar tree. I threw a classic roc too hard and right. It was buzzing on a course for 50-60 foot past the hole and about 15 feet to the right, when it smacked a cedar tree almost head on, directly right of the basket. Jumped hard left and CHANG!!! :D
I was yelling my fool head off, and the people fishing on the dock thought I was crazy, but hey, what a sweet shot!!

I needed it too after the two double circles on hole 2 and 4!!! :(

It's been a LONG time since I have had anything even close to a shot I felt I could post on here....... But I changed that in a BIG way today!

I got a Tomahawk Skip Ace on hole 3 at the Backwoods Disc Golf Course (my house)
And while it is true it was on a barrel and not a basket, it hit dead center of the top ring on the barrel, which I believe would be in on a basket too!! A perfect hit! It was truly awesome to watch!
