I have thrown so many different discs over the past 3 years. I have been playing 5 but posting 3 so this is as far back as I could go. I got bored and went through the old "In the Bag" thread and saved all my posts. This is silly! Looking through all this really shows me that I need a much simpler setup. Enough of all the gimmicks. I am gonna have to simplify this.

I though this was supposed to be funny???

Well, I guess compared to most of the people who post, my bag setup is really good and simple.

I just think it is funny how often I changed what I threw. Like I really needed to. The worst part is throwing too many drivers. There really is no need. It is fun for some casual rounds but doesn't help with consistancy.

Maybe it is only interesting to me because it is mine.

If you get really bored, go back and look up your old bag setups. It is weird to see some of the stuff.

It is kind of funny, but a lot of golfers make these type of changes, I have done very simular, now and for the last year or two I have kept a basic formula of 1-2 more midrange and putters than drivers, right now I carry 6 drivers in 4 molds, and 5 mid ranges in 3 molds, and 3 putters in 2 molds so 14 discs total and 9 molds.

My thinking is that I need a driver on 50-60% of the holes I play, a Mid on 70-80% and a Putter on 90% There is not a lot of mystery in the putter molds so Midrange should be equal to or greater than drivers. :D

I guess I categorize my bag I try to keep a disc for each backhand situation, although I am capable of multiple throws.

The categories and disc are as follows.

Utility discs....
Skip shots - Z-Xtreme
Spikehyzer approach - Champ Gator
Roller - SE Leopard

Big Drivers (+400ft holes only).....
Major headwind - Champ Firebird
Main driver - Z-Avenger
Slightly windy - CFR Wraith
Tailwind/turnover - Champ Beast

Fairway drivers (350-400ft holes)......
Overstable - Z-Predator
Left Fade - Z-Reaper
Straight/hyzerflip - Z-XL
Turnover - CE Leopard

Midranges (250-350ft holes).....
Overstable - Z-Wasp (new)
S-Curves - Z-Wasp (beat)
Left Fade - Z-Buzzz (new)
Straight 0-fade - Z-Buzzz (beat)
Turnover - Z-Buzzz (light 172g, beat)

Upshots.......
Crystal Challenger

Putter (any and all putts).........
Pro-D Challenger

Many of these discs have changed, but the categories have remained the same. If I am unhappy with the performance or consistency of a disc, I will find a new one to replace it, or if the mold has been discontinued and I cannot find replacements.

Right now I am looking at going back to the Teebird instead of a Reaper, and will check to see if the Surge has less high speed turn then the Wraith. Other then that I would not give up a single disc in my bag.

You might consider a midnight for your turnover buzz shots, they fly like a beat Z right out of the box, but they do not have the tendancy to loose control like a beat one will, I use a comet for this shot, but the midnight is becoming a good replacement, and it is easier to throw. :D

Midnights turnover out of the box???

I have 4 of them (3 to throw 1 to save) in the boxes in my closet. I thought they were overstable like the first runs.

I have zero consistency problems with any of my Buzzz's. Sometimes, due to improper timing, my turnover Buzzz will turn too much, but it is always a flat smooth turn. IMO, best turnover midrange out there.

IMO they are less stable than the Z buzz, maybe a little less stable than the Crystal buzz even, I think of them about like the X buzzz as far as stability, and a loooooooooot longer. plus they feel so good in the hand it is hard to discount them.

I cant look at my old bag setups cause I have lost all those discs from years ago that is why they are not in my bag.

Mine is fairly simple, but I'm still looking for that long range driver that I can really get on top of and not worry about it flipping too far.

The bottom of the bag (<250') has been the same for years.
2 super soft putters.
beat DX ROC (DX)
Stable CE ROC ('02)
Overstable ROC (hard Ontario)

Middle bag (200'<300') is the same.
DX Viper (my first long range driver, very predictable)
2 candy Firebirds
2 CE-JLSs

Drivers (>300') fluctuate, (as does my speed and snap)
All Candy
3 Orcs (2 pearly Champ, 1 SB)
2 Starfires
2 Crushes
4 Wraiths (2 star, 2 CFR)
2 Orions
1 Viking
1 Sidewinder

Primary Drivers over the last few years.
I have tried pretty much every high speed driver
from Innova and Discraft over the years as a primary driver, but have settled on this list as slightly different flavors of the same flight path.

Now it depends on how I'm throwing as to which is the primary driver of the day.

Sence 2003/???

1st run CE Valks still there
1st run CE LFirebird still there
Roc's still there (3 to 4 inthere at any given time
Classic Roc, still my main upshot discs
I did switch for a omega SS to a JK solf Aviar this last month
I pulled out the 1st Run CE Aviar and 1st run CE Aero sometime last year.
I still have a 1st run Illusion, but I can't remember when I put it in my bag.
1st run CE JLS's (currently 2 in my bag with only 2 backups. Freaking lost a good one at ZBoaz open.

Last year I added the Orc, they have now been replaced with Wraith, both Pro and Star, these are now my main drivers replacing my Valk's.

So I really did not change much in the last 3 years. For 2 years I didn't even change a disc other than replacing lost ones.

I throw a lot of new stuff in the field, but my bag has stayed pretty much the same for the last year or so. I've replaced my Rocs w/ DX Gremlins, added a Sidewinder (fluctuating between gummy 1st run & STAR), and toyed w/ gummy Orcs & Vikings. I wanted to love the Supreme Juju, but, despite how great it feels in my hand, I can't make anything over 6m with it.
