Johnny said there are more than enough RV hookups.

Also, Johnny is going to have a workday down in Duncan this Saturday if anyone can help him out that would be way COOL! He could use some weedeating help on holes 4, 5 and 6 on the Lake Course and come trimming/lopper help on holes 5, 6 and 7 on the temp course.

T-shirts will be black with the white logo this year. I have long sleeve and short sleeve shirts. The short sleeve are $10 and the long sleeve are $13.

Also, I will have a ringer tee with the Duncan Lake logo at tourney central that anyone can order. I did not preorder these because they are a little more expensive and I am not sure how the ringer tee will go over. So, I decided to have a couple printed and let people place orders.

jose
Mar 01 2006, 08:38 AM
I spoke with Johnny last night and he did get all of the brushhogging done on both courses this weekend. I know there are still some holes that need to be weedeated. If anyone from that part of the state can help out please post here or give Johnny a call - he and I would both appreciate the help. If you live in the East side of the state then get to some of the work days for Am Worlds there is plenty to do for everyone.

I would sau no on the camp fires. Unless we get a flooding rain before then. There are a few nice houses in the area and we all dont need the police in the area. Remember Beer is illegal at the lake. Put it in a cuzzy. The police is pretty cool about the beer as long as its in a cuzzy and we all dont make trouble. Let s all have a nice get together and discing.

If you cant handle great scenery,on the lake, out in the boons, elevation, windy holes, then stay home. Its an awesome course for a get together and see whats in your bag.
Nice Cafe that will cater to your needs. They always put on special meals for the golfing event. Good down to earth prices on the meals.
Camping right there next to the baskets. With a view of the lake.
Tents are 5 and Rv I do believ is 10 or 8 for electrical. Bring your RV plug (adapter, 3 prong curved).
I will be there Wednesday or Thursday for sure. There are 2 restrooms one of them has showers in them. Not real hot but not cold either.

Something to spread his greatness across the states. stamp on the disc,or shirts. 2 minutes of silence.
Jeremy was an asset to disc golf community and should be remember. He was so nice he would play with me and my weak arm just to cheer up my day. I will miss giving his disc back to him and seeing him smile.

Doubles Rules/Options

This year at the Duncan Lake HillClimber Open I am experimenting with some options for the Friday night doubles. A doubles team can consist of three different configurations. First, is a traditional doubles team of two players each playing best shot. Second, a player can choose to play cali. Which means the player will get one extra shot per hole. Third, a player may choose to play solo doubles, which means the player will play the best shot format with themselves. The kicker is that a team playing traditional doubles will pay $20 per team and a team playing cali will pay $15 and team playing solo doubles will pay $25.

This year I will allow a person or a team to play as many rounds of doubles that they can get in during the flex start time which is from 1p.to approximately 5p. all you have to do is pay again. For example, a team of Joe and Tom could play a doubles round for $20 and when they finish Tom could pay $15 and then go and play a cali round.

The Friday night doubles this year will be a 90% payout and the other 10% will go to the 2006 Am Worlds fund.

I am finally back online again! On my own computer anyway.
As always Jose` was the MAN! He could run a great tournament blindfolded and still get it off on time. Barb and Martin helped out a great deal. I am exhausted but happy that we had another great turnout. We didn't have as many as last year but alot was due to players having prior commentments such as getting the Tulsa courses ready for Worlds. I totally understand why they need to get that done. I figure we can get the numbers back up next year especially since Jose` has said he will run it again in 2007!!! There is also a chance that the temp course could be permanent next year. I would love to have side by side 18 hole courses to play. :cool:Thanks again Jose`, Barb, Martin and all of the cool players that came out to make the 2006 Hillclimber a success!

How many holes did B flight play short on the lake course? I know I played it I just can't remember..15? And what is the difference from long to short. I'd guess a stroke per hole.

You are right, B-flight did play 15 short on the Lake course. The am tees on the original 18 holes average around 100' shorter than the longs. There are a few that are more like 75' shorter and some that are more than 100'.

Yeah, Jose`, Justin Kerr and I played a round on the east course after the last round was over. Jose` said that he didn't bring his bag down with him so he borrowed a driver from someone and a mid-range(Buzz) from me. He said that he hadn't ever thrown a Buzz before. Well I think he will be throwing one now or at least he will have one to throw after he blasted the chains on #17. The disc went as straight as could be and there was no doubt that it was going to hit dead on for the ace. The disc is his now. :D

Sorry - I did not post much yesterday - everyone else seemed to think I needed to be working and doing stuff other than disc golf business.

First of all, thanks big time to Johnny Zumwalt. I never once had to think about or worry about the courses. That was all done by Johhny Z.

Second, my staffers Martin Norris, Barb Paske and Johnny Zumwalt made this the most enjoyable event that I have ever directed. Thanks.

SuperD - I am glad you were able to come over from Arkansas and thanks for the merchandise to give away I know the players loved the stuff. Congrats on the ace!!!

Woody - I will check out the ratings thing.

The ace was cool and I do not usually put up ace discs but this buzz looks brand new and now it has an ace on it so I am thinking about putting that one up but I may have to give the buzz a chance in my bag.

I am starting to think Mother Nature loves the Duncan Lake HillClimber! She gave us just enugh moisture to have the burn ban lifted and can you believe it we are under another burn ban as of last night. WOW we got lucky or was it divine intervention. I think the winds she threw us on Sunday was her way of saying "your welcome for the campfires but here deal with this" we all know she has an awnry side.

I turned in a course proposal to the City of Duncan today asking them to let us make the temp course at the Lake permanent. I didn't ask them for anything but the okay to do it as we recieved baskets either by donations or if I ever just had alot of extra money laying around to buy them myself.(yeah right) Cross your fingers if you would like to see that course permanent. The lakes meeting that will probably discuss this motion will most likely be May 3rd if anyone would like to attend. Let me know what you guys think about it. If you would like to join me at the meeting it could only help. Thanks, Johnny Z.

DUDE !!!
THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL !!!!!
now that shows the flavor of a tournament, none of that staged putting or driving off a perfectly manicured tee box with wide open shots to the basket.
Keep up the great work and they will double your pay grade :D
