BASKETS & BOWLING 180!!!

CLICK HERE FOR BASKETS AND BOWLING 180 FLYER (http://www.tulsadiscsports.org/2006baskets_bowling4.html)

It's on again, Tulsa!!!!!
This one should be the best yet...Tulsa's own Wayne Forest is implementing his legendary McClure 180 course...anyone who has ever played this "Forest Original" knows how challenging, cool and fun this course is.

There will be 3 separate divisions for B&B-180:

Doubles
Coed
Singles

Bowling will once again be at Mickeys.

Come on out and support the TDSA, all mulligan $$$ donated at this point is vital being that 06 AM Worlds is right around the corner....this event has been a success inthe past thanks to all our kick butt TDSA members. I look forward to seeing all my TDSA buddies.

I gotta get with Wayne to figure out what holes will work out best as CTP's, Long Putts and possibly a longest drive.

More to come................

Regards,
Mike Conners

 overheard conversation at a Tulsa B & B Event
.
between disc-golfers Bill and Ted Saturday night sitting in the Bowling Alley kinda out-of-their-element , but enjoying some beverage between frames
.
.
.
Bill : Dude . Was that thunder ?
.
Ted : Nah , anyway I dont think it was Its just real noisy in here
.
Bill : Huh ?
.
Ted : I said its your turn to buy the Pitcher
.
Bill : Alright , but Im carrying it back to the table myself I saw you bringin the last one -and- it looked like it anhyzered with ya you almost turned it over.
.
Ted : Speaking of that , whos up on the Tee ?
.
Bill : Dude , its that FurDawg dude Im up after him ; then that chick ; then its your turn
.
Ted : Man , Ive been at the back-of-the-box all night Its time for me to make a move Did you check the Tee-Sign ? how long is this next hole ?
.
Bill : Same as the last one I just hope I can keep my next drive in-bounds those dry-creeks on both sides of the fairway keep catching my shots
.
Ted : What are you gonna drive this next hole with ? Valk.? T-Bird ? 170 gram or 165 ?
.
Bill : I think it said Brunswick , 15 pound
.
Ted : Dude ! but it feels pretty calm right now not much wind
.
Bill : True that. but when Mitchell walked by our table earlier , I think I felt a cross wind
.
Ted : Dude . You smelled it , too?
.
Bill : That mightve been what caused you to almost keel over with that Pitcher (pause) nice putt there , FurDog dude , looks like Im on the Tee
.
Ted : "Go getcha some , dude"
.
(Bill returning to the table after bowling)
Bill : Man ! that hurt my arm!
.
Ted : Dude Whaddup? and why are those other people bad-lookin-ya ? ?
.
Bill : Dude I decided to throw a tomahawk shot it was workin too ; till it bounced over into that Fairway next to us they got all mad an stuff
.
Ted : Yeah I feel their eyeball-heat , dude ...
.
Bill : Dude
.
Ted: Dude
.
Bill : Dude , Im almost up I wish I knew how the throw a tommyhawk shot while you were bowling , I did feel another cross-wind
.
Ted : Dude?
.
Bill : Yeah ; I wuz testing the wind by throwing some of my french-fries up in the air but they never came down
.
Ted : Mitchell ? dude ?
.
Bill : Mitchell , dude
.
Ted : So waddya gonna throw on this hole?
.
Bill : I thought about trying a Helix Shot dude , Ive seen Doc do that one many a time with Whippets and EXPs hes good at it but I dont have anything thats stable enough for that shot , including me.
.
Ted : So dude you gonna stick with the hyzer shot ?
.
Bill : Nah , dude I think I finally got this gig figured out (walking toward the Lanes)
.
Ted : (hollerin) So watcha gonna throw , dude?
.
Bill : (loudly) a roller !

... 1 early December ...
... 1 early January ...
... 1 late February ...
.
... each one was a One-Day "combo" Event featuring a great round of Disc Golf and a great evening of Bowling ...

... driving over from OKC was Joe Seay and his father Andy ... they survived the "180" Course in all that wind , and then proceeded to "burn wood" on the Bowling Lanes ... Andy (who was obviously an accomplished bowler) said he was pleasantly surprised during the Disc Golf that he actually got to "carry the Team" on several areas of that tough (but fun) Course ...

For those who could not see it: Billy Lund won the long drive #4 hole with one of the longest golf shots I have ever seen.

Hole #4 starts on the 7th street sidewalk near hole #5's basket. Billy cleared the hill where #5 and #7's tee boxes are.

Big Dave has measured the distance from the hill to 5 basket at 599 feet. Billy through this shot atleast 625 in the air.

It was sweet!

I decided to reward the people who have continued to show support to the TDSA by competing in The Baskets & Bowling Events:

There are a total of 4 B&B's. I have gone through the last 3 events and narrowed it down to 11 names.

When I get home tonight I will cross reference these 11 names with the B&B-1 leaderboard to determine who makes the final cut.

11 people so far:

Dale Patterson
Mike Conners
Devan Owens
Wayne Gregory
Bud Johnson
Kelly Watson
Chris Wagle
Big Dave Nicholson
Billy Lund
Larry Juby
Tom Townsend

I have a few ideas I'm throwing around, but I'm leaning towards getting everybody personalized bowling shirts like the one Chris Barnes' wears. Complete with your personal signature embroidered on the back.:cool:

3. Who won the first B&G?

I think I found the one I like..the price is right and I can put 3 words on the back of the shirt with a logo and an embroidered name on the front for like a dollar per shirt.

I like it!!!

If your name is listed it would help if you posted your shirt size and whatever name you want on it.
