The Good
A few of the 1999 Innova discs are still in my bag. 2004 was a really good for high speed drivers.
The Bad
The spider is the only disc from 2001 that I would even consider throwing. 2005 seemed like there was alot releases with hype and not much to back it up. The Venom and Drone are discs that Discraft had released similar but better discs in years previous.

I've never thrown a buzzz 475 ft. or rolled one over 500 ft. But I can't argue with the year the best midrange to date was released. :D

i'm having trouble deciding between 1983 and 1984, but i am leaning to 1984 because that brought us the Aviar

Can't really go wrong with any of those years. I had thrown a Proto Eagle in December 1982 , I think.......................Then some Really Awesome Aero's came out in 1983.

Still .................In my opinion .......................the Aviar was the best in 1984 !!!!!!! Innova had made different types of Aviars through out the years. I still have a few of the Original ones..........tall rim , no bead !!!!

The Aviar is still made to this day..........................even copied by Whamo !!!!!

DGA , Discraft , Destiny Disc's , Lightning , Whamo , Ching ,and a few others............TRY to make a AVIAR type of disc !!!!! :D

2004! Spirit is the sickest driver anywhere, the element is the sickest midrange ever, as far as discs go those two make up 50% of my bag basically so 2004

2001 was a good year. Made some good money on those CE discs.

'78 was good when the Midnight Flyers in golf weights came out.

If you include the CE plastic in the existing molds, 2001 was a great year. I wonder if that is why 2001 & 2002 were low new mold production years for Innova.

What 2005 Discraft molds beside the Avenger are really going to be in the bag a few years from now? (maybe the Tracker???) It just seems like they threw a bunch of new molds against the wall to see what stuck. I just don't see how the 2005 Discraft discs push the envelope the same way the Predator, Buzz, Crush and Flick did. I likwise wasn't real impressed with the Roadrunner.

I had to go with the slipstream myself. I've never had such an easy time controlling a disc that understable.

Maybe we should judge what the best year was by looking into the bag of the winner of this year's USDGC
or maybe see what common disc Climo and Juliana throw? (16 World Championships between them)

Aviar! :D

Your joking right? a Speed Demon is a copy of the eagle/arrow?

Wouldnt an arrow be closer to a copy of the super puppy, then a speed demon would be to an arrow?

In case you guys arent aware of it there were 3 patents issued for BEVeled adged discs in 1979.
In onnovas first patent applictaion the term beveled edge was not allowed.
The reapplication was more along the lines of gyroscopic effect!

Now we are geeting closer to facts :D

I must say, the Aviar has inspired what seems to be a plethora of very nice discs of somewhat similar design.

I have yet to try an "aviar clone" that I did NOT prefer to the actual aviar, though. My favorite is the Upshot 2 Prostyle. I fully recognize the Aviar as an excellent disc for a lot of people, but the rim depth is not comfortable in my hand.

After enjoying enormous success with the XL driver in the preceeding years, I thought 2000 was a bad year for Discraft. In my opinion, the Xtreme, Xpress, XS, and Xtra discs were not a step forward in disc evolution. However, the year 2000 is easily noteworthy for the appearance of the Innova Valkyrie. The impact and revolution this disc had on many disc golfer's games cannot be understated; it easily added 40-80 feet to some people's drives.

On the other hand, Innova would then follow that up with a disappointing year in 2001. The much anticipated Archangel was supposed to be an upgrade on the Valkyrie but wasn't at all, and the Spider and Dragon are forgettable discs. 2001 was easily the worst year for disc releases.

Both companies would rebound in 2002 and it easily makes the best year for disc releases, imo. The Talon, Predator,
Wildcat, and Wasp are all superior discs released by Discraft that year. Innova's Beast was an instant "next generation" disc for most disc golfers, and would remain so until surpassed in the following years by the Starfire, Orc and Wraith, in turn.

The best year was 1948 because the release of the plastic Al Capp Flyin' Saucer was such an improvement on the steel pie tin.

Nice !!!!! I still have a original set of Lil Abners. Red , Blue and Yellow...........with the cartoon in the package. I only have two pie tins.. One with a small F in the middle and the other with raised letters Frisbie Pies.
