**** --- that's the same weekend as the Republic of Texas Bike Ralley this year.
Hmmm...maybe I'll do the ROT on Thursday and Friday, and play Sat and Sunday (perhaps with a a little ROT action mixed in on Sat night).
This is far and away my favorite tourney of the year --- played in the first two, and vowed never to miss another one.

not sure why this is not listed in the tour link nor the lame magazine but above are the dates hope you can make it.
It is not in the PDGA tour Link because you have not paid your santioning fees, then it will be listed on PDGA.com and the next issue of DGWN. You have to pay early to get it listed. That is also why you don't see the Carrollton Open listed yet either. I have not paid my fees yet. (I will do that this month though)
This was one of the tournaments I wanted to play this year. However, I will be in Alaska instead :D Maybe next year.

I bet Mr. Trebek responds with "Was born with the name "Franklin", but later officially changed it to Vinnie after his favorite disco-dancing 1970s sitcom character. Alright just talked to Larry, and these guys will make due, but they have had a lot thrown at them the last few days.
**Please call between 2:30 and 5:30pm to talk about your rooms!!**
They still have to run the restaurant and bar, so these other times are busy for them. They dont have a system in place yet, but they do have a lot of availability. Larry asked me to give him a couple of days to re-group, and to call him back- which I will do.
He did apologize for the state of disorganazation, and thanked us all for our patience and assured me they will do what they can to make this a great weekend for everyone!

Lame payout indeed...even in Open. What made it even worse was playing LOSO two weekends before and seeing a great B-Tier payout (both AM and Open).....And you thought the pro turnout was bad this year at COTO....wait til next year! I am looking forward to playing the SOLO (god, I love acronyms and abbreviations)....I missed it last year and after hearing about it....I will never miss another! I'll see if I can dig up something to raffle off....

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that pros are just as capable as ams of sending in their entries and pre-registering.

May 24 2006, 02:22 PM
The open and masters payouts weren't lame, they were simply "as advertised." Acting like fewer pros will be back cause some money went to the club and charity, is basically saying that money totally trumps the quality of the event and the experience. It's true in a few people's mind, but they are the minority (COTO will fill next year). It is also a big disservice to everyone that worked hard to bring COTO to life.

True, pro's do wait too long to register and events fill before they can get in, but if Ams are going to complain about a payout, which followed the PDGA standards, and not play the event the next year then that will leave room for the last minute pro signups :)

Poker Friday?
I normally play cards every Friday, but since I will be at the resort, I want to move the game out there. Anybody interested?
I have 3 players for sure, including myself. I will limit this table to 8 players- so we are not up all night.
Who is all in?
I CALL !!!! ;)
I figured.
;)
What about your brothers?
Thats half the table...
4 more spots left.

Jun 01 2006, 04:59 PM
most likley not OB lines except on C hole by the road. If you throw it where water use to be it wont be a birdie and will be punishment enuff. but we will see.
thanks again Rhett.
Yes my sister's will have camera's and taking some photos

good to hear
As far as we can tell, the hotel doesn't have internet...we have a cingular card that keeps us online as long as we can get a signal. You are welcome to use it this weekend.
The course looks pretty good, walked it this evening. Although there has been plenty of rain, it drains well. We thought we would play a trash pick up round.:cool:
ahhhh yeahhhhh!!!
The weekend is here-ah!!
