I have found out that U of I has the Frolfing Illini, and Stevens Point has a club, also Western Kentucky has one, and also a school in Indiana. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any other clubs? Thanks

I'm looking at grad school up in WI, and I'm pretty sure that UW Madison has a club. If you want 12 months of golf, move south. UNC Greensboro's club is starting to make some noise. http://fourstringeadg.tripod.com for the club site.

Hey Todd, UW Stevens Point, UW Stout, UW Parkside, UW Green Bay, and others have either a course or leagues or both. Good contacts would be the WI state coordinator, Terry Miller ([email protected]) and Todd Ebens (PDGA username is MADCITYDISCS), who has been working hard on the Madison courses.

Also, Texas and California are hotbeds for collegiate discing. Try contacting GNDUKE in Texas or Rhett in Southern California.

Living in Lubbock, I am aware that Texas Tech has started a club. I know from playing Texas Teams that Texas A&M has a team.

I went to Ohio State and they had a DG club. It was very loosely organized and didn't really do much. I didn't find out about it until my last year there or I would have tried to have a positive impact on the club. I don't know if it is still around. I have been kicking around the idea of trying to start one at Western Michigan University, but I have a lot on my plate with grad school right now. It is not that difficult to get one started. I think North Carolina has a team that is looking to start a team competition thing.....I'm not sure, it was a while ago.

Here in Australia, most universities have ultimate teams, some even play DG ocassionally with their ultrastars. But as far as actual DG teams, thats unheard of in this part of the world.

UW-Whitewater also has a club. UWW Disc Golf Club (http://orgs.uww.edu/discgolf/index.html)
Whitewater is a convenient college for those of you in Illinoise. Good school too. I played in a few tournaments with Pat Konkel who is Vice President of the club there at Whitewater. He's a real nice guy and (obviously) loves the game. I'm sure he'd show you around the course (& campus) if you decided to make a visit to Whitewater.

UW-Stevens Point has a club and some real nice courses to play. I noticed playing tournaments last year that the Stevens Point group always seemed to be having a little more fun than the rest of us. I'm not sure that's really possible but they sure made it sound that way.

Good luck wherever you go.

There are 3 colleges in Birmingham with golfers from each one. Next year there could be a club at Samford and another course in town. There is a course on campus at the U. of Al.in Huntsville,. site of two Worlds and 4 course's.
The U of S. Alabama has a course on campus and 4 course's in Mobile. Anywhere you go , you can start a club. If you do, you can insure it's existance for the next 4 years. Good luck.

NC State has a small club but a very active local scene.

The last 2 Am World Champions were from the Raleigh area.

There is a course less than 1/4 mile from Campus.

The 3rd Annual United States College Disc Golf Championships will be held April 22-23 in Bowling Green, KY. This is a week after the original dates advertised in Disc Golf World News. College disc golf is steadily growing, and team play (as it has been said before) is essential to the future of disc golf in general. This year's event will have a new format, and is open to students, faculty, staff and alumni. The cost is $20 and includes a nice player's package. This tournament is going to be awesome, especially the more players we have. For a flier and registration form, email: [email protected]
Hope to see many of ya'll in April.
