It seems silly to me that the stats for 2005 are unavailable for people who are not current. This person paid their 2005 dues, so all their 2005 tournament results should be listed. Right?
I do not see how noncurrent duespayers get punished with regards to last year's results, even if it is only for a few months. Maybe it's just an oversight, I don't know. If you paid for last year, your results should be available to view.
I am trying to gather player info on players from overseas, and I can't find their info and stats from last year because they are not paid up for 2006. Seems like an oversight since the default player page for the first few months shows last year's results, but still, they should be there.
Thoughts?

They should be there thru late Feb based on the PDGA office policy. Sandalman know the scoop?

sandalman is scratching his head because sandalman wrote the code to allow the viewing of 2005 stats until approx Feb 21, and installed said code a couple/few weeks ago. sandalman is about to call the office and find out who the heck stepped on his code!

well, sumpin happened somewhere, i'm working on fixing it now. dont sweat it, we have no intention off blocked 2005 results for people who have not renewed and are still in the grace period.

Personally, and speaking only as me and not in any official capacity, I really don't see the outrage in this. It sure is nice of the PDGA to allow this 6 week grace period thing, but I don't see any reason why it should be required or any reason at all why anyone should make such a big deal out of it if it weren't there.
If you were a member in 2005, you got all the benefits of membership in 2005. It's 2006 now. What's the big deal???

Points totals and ratings for the prior year aren't done until mid-Feb. Members aren't responsible for late TD reports and even those that aren't late from December events getting processed after Jan 1.

xterramatt, i need some specific examples of players who you think should be showing up but arent. i can see 2005 results for non-renewed members who played in 2005.

I'm not making that big a deal out of it, I was just trying to explain the problem.
I think if you paid for 2005, then your stats for 2005 should be visible after the first of the year.
Sounds like Pat has a handle on it. Cool.
OK, here's a scenario, you play really well all year, then in December get in a car accident preventing you from playing. You don't reregister for 2006 because you can't play, but now you can't see your stats for the year that you paid for.
Not a big deal, I was updating player profiles and several who have not paid for 2006 yet (since they live in regions where tournaments do not happen in winter) but can't see their stats since they are not available until they are paid up.
I see no problem with not posting scores for a player who chooses to forego the 2006 annual membership and pays the per event fee instead not being able to access their 2006 ratings and scores.

This might be a misunderstanding, as the person I was trying to look up may not have played ANY tournaments last year. OH THE HORROR! :o

Maybe I'm a little stressed with some other stuff... :D
In any event, I think it's really really nice of the PDGA to have this 7 week grace period. I also think it's a shame that Pat's code changes got tromped on.
But it's really really nice, and not at all required, of the PDGA to be so nice about this. All IMO. :)

first, my code didnt get stepped on.
second, the player whose stats were originally requested is Christian Sandstrom. Mr Sandstrom has not been current since 12-31-2004. therefore his grace period is long since expired, and his stats are no longer available for viewing.
finally, stats remain available for any member who was active in 2005 because we are still within their grace period to renew. the grace period expires after the Feb ratings update, which is the official and final 2005 based rating. this allows all expired emmbers to get the full benefit of their 2005 membership.
everything is cool.... carry on!

Does the grace period expire 1 second, 1 minute, 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week, or 1 month from the posting of the Feb ratings?
I guess I'm asking this "just how long of a window of opportunity do expired members get to view their final ratings?"
If the grace period expires upon posting of the Feb update, then those people didn't get a chance to see their final rating at all.

the application is curently coded for 51 days, which puts us at Feb 20, or one week after teh Feb update.
that was my own decision when i was writing the code, since we do not have an "official" number of days from the office yet.
altho i am sure we will now that we're talking about it here. :D
regardless, changing the grace period is major easy. remember what i PM'd you about brilliant architecture?:D:cool:
