Why pull people away from OKC, and Why Put Norman 1st?
Might be a mistake to exclude OKC golfers.

Hi guys. I love overall events as that is what we did for many years in OZ and still do for the Australian Championships.
Can someone please answer the time and focus put on each event. As an example it can be hard to run a DDC event in a couple of hours. How many rounds of golf, how many MTA throws, DDC rounds etc.
I would also like to know how many people that are likely to play are good DDC players. I am a decent player and would need a good partner. Anyone interested.
Who Freestyles in OK?
And finally for the overall title does each event carry the same weight of points? That is an important one.
Thanks
Chris

For the overall champion the Field events are all equal factors, the disc golf factor is double since you're playing more disc golf than anything. If you wanted to contend for the OVERALL championship you would want to compete in the highest division of disc golf whether you are going for PRO or AM Overall. EX. You would want to play in MPO instead of MPM because you would get more overall points for disc golf in MPO. For the AM overall you would want to compete in MA1 instead of MA2 for the same reason.
We do a round robin format for DDC and get most of the matches done on Saturday with a little time set aside for Finals on Sunday.
In MTA you get Five timed throws... You warm up as much as you like when you are ready we'll time you. You must make the CATCH for the time to count. You may also practice between your Timed throws just be sure the stopwatches are ready when you want to throw FOR REAL.
Distance is a crowd pleaser done on Sunday this year.
Freestyle will be held on Saturday afternoon and you are judged on different criteria. Routines are three to five minutes in length and are evaluated by judges who base their scores on the difficulty (10), artistic impression (10) and execution (10) of the routine. The team with the highest score wins (30 is a perfect score).

Dont be confused, it's really pretty simple. The Normans are just mad cuz Norman is really just a Southside of the Southside of OKC ...now that's pretty bad.

We only had FOUR Women in all divisions last year.

Get involved in the field events as well, you know we will have SWEET trophies for Overall Women's Am and Pro Champions and possibly some Women's Field event trophies but I can't promise until I see I have enough women Pre-Registered in field events! :(

With a $40 entry I was excited to play pro at states this year but I can't justify paying for gas, hotel, food and beverages just to play 1 round of golf per day.
The field events will absolutley benefit by only having 2 rounds of disc golf so I'm sure it will work out for you guys.
Looks like I'll be working on courses as usual during states.
Come to think of it, how many Norman guys have actually shown up and helped with Worlds courses? I can only think of one guy:
DIGGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Arkansas guys live farther away than the Normanites and they have shown up in large numbers!!
Am I wrong here or is Digger the only one who has graciously dontated their sooner time?

Conners I can probably arrange a place for you to stay if you want to go and a ride. I have a friend that lives in OKC.
I played Griffin Park and it was a lot harder than it looked or I made it harder. It would be nice if all the boxes were the same, either concrete or gravel and not a mix of both. On gravel boxes I would wear different shoes than I would for concrete.

MC... We only have about 5 guys in Norman that are willing to work on courses in town much less than an hour and a half away. It sucks, there's alot more Billy Lunds here than in Tulsa!! :o No offense Billy. Two of the guys that work on courses here have already made it to T-Town...the other three will make a workday one of these days. We have been super busy putting in pads and signs and other amenities to Griffin Park in preparation for the GPO the last week of April, improvements and clean-up of Lions for the ProAm, and now States this weekend. We've been quite busy here in Norman. Don't take for granted that every place is like Tulsa, cause it's NOT! Way to go TDSA!

That comment is in poor taste ChrisP. Billy may not help out as much, but there are certainly players who help less and aren't being called out on it. Find someone who isn't trying to be a responsible DAD to bag on.
In my opinion, you owe him an apology.

Bolstead, WTF? I said NO OFFENSE, Hello? Other people were using B. Lund as an example because he would be playing dg at Mohawk instead of working on the course. That's why I was using him as an example of what most of the players around here are like. Not a personal shot, just repeating what Tulsa guys have said to get my point across. Good natured smack talk ;) Why do you have to take comments on here so seriously?

Billy gets rode harder than a pony at the carnival about not showing up! There is no need to pile on, especially since he's not a Norman person.
That's all - Smack talk would be saying Billy can't win Worlds (although this would be b/c he's not registered /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif)

I also understand how frustruating it is to be busting your *&% at the course and then a group of guys walks by while playing a casual round and says "nice job guys" and doesn't even offer to help.
ChrisP, I hear you big time....when I see casuals playing while I'm busting my arse it makes my blood boil.
IMO, Billy does not deserve any criticism, he works the graveyard shift and then takes his daughter to school immediately after work. He sleeps for about 5 hours and then has to get up and go pick his daughter up from school. Then he has to keep an eye on her until his wife gets home from work. Then he goes to work and the process starts all over again.
He lives right by me and I see his car at home, it's not like he is out playing all the time on the new courses.
