I have a 2002 World's Biggest Valk. It's dyed and looks and feels like the older Champion Edition plastic.

Oh all knowing disc pundits.... what version is my Valk?

I'm not an all-knowing disc pundit, but when i started playing disc golf in Fall 2002, CE valk.s (late run) were still available.
i only bought one [ :( ], and it is still in my bag :D

is it opaque or clear-ish? (mine is opaque and florescent yellow)

It's opaque. It's yellow with a red "spin art" swirly on it.

how stiff is it compared to newer "Champion" plastic discs or even better how does it compare to PROLINE plastic (11x teebird, firebirds.. all the candy proline discs)

that should also help you figure it out. CE was the stiffest plastic that innova made and it was very close to being illegal if i remember correctly. I could be wrong though.

CE

either that or an early 4x JK valk

3x Valk.s preceded 4x's. Anita's is probably CE

I think it's CE because it feel just like my old CE Eagles. I have some later version 150g CE Valks and this doesn't feel like those either.

I guess my questions is better asked, what run of Champion Edition plastic is this World's Biggest disc.

lighter candy discs -- even in CE seem to usually be gummy. what weight is this Valk.? It's probably a later run CE Valk. When were the World's Biggest Discs stamped? Do you know who would have ordered/received the discs that year in your area?

That's a good starting place , what year was the plastic injected ? I know the disc states 2002 , but could the disc have been made in 2001 ?

Is it stable ? Understable ? Flat ? Domey ? Convex Lip ? Flat Lip ?

I order and recieved the disc straight from World's Biggest central.

Now that I've flipped it over, it's actually white. The yellow and red swirly are the dye job. It's 169 g and flatter than my late model Champion Edition Valks.

As for flippyness well, you would have to have someone with a bigger arm than mine to really tell. :D

Are you sure they made 3x Valks?? I have some of the original white ones with the bar stamp and mixes of CE plastic and they say four time champ.

Anitas could also be a CE/ SE blend. Im pretty sure CE discs would have been clearer, or alot less opaque by then.

i thought i remember putting my fav. JK Valk in the drink and then not being able to replace it with the same version... i thought it was a 3x, but maybe it was a 4x and the 5x's came out fast (a lot faster than say 5x JK Aviars)?

memory is the first thing to go /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

4X JK, old CE plastic, 174, light blue, red insignia. The money disc! Never leave home without it!

I have a few JK valks, and some of them are in the old proline candy plastic, and some of them (around 150g) are the CE/SE plastic, and white. I've seen someone with a yellow JK valk, and it was either the CE/SE mix or pure CE. Looked very similar to the CE/SE 10x teebird I have.

The Champion Valk came out in 2001, before the Minnesota Worlds. There is a possibility that there were 3X before this event. [Juliana] won, so it would be 4X after that. If there were 3X, they would be CE type, I suppose. Sorry, I can't be more specific

Anita, Dave D typed the above, so it looks like a World's Biggest 2002 candy Valk. would be Champ rather than CE ...

 I'm gonna guess it's an SE of that era (possibly with CE added), as I recall there being just a 'small premium' to pay for that 'step up' in plastic from the standard DX/Ching!.

I just consulted with another owner of one of these Valks...his take is that it is an "SE with CE durability"...and he said he had to "give up the WB shirt" to step up to the premium plastic disc.

I sure doesn't feel like any of my Champion discs. It must be a CE or on of the CE/SE blends.

I'll let you throw it Q, if you ask really nice. ;)
