I'm planning on being in the Orlando area and playing this tourney. Anyone down that way have any feed back on what to expect tournout wise. Does it typically fill up? How about entree fees, Purse?

I e-mailed Bob Lewis but received what looked to be an automatically generated response/ preregistration confirmation. No entry fee details or times. I haven't seen an entree form online yet either.

I haven't played Gordon Barnett in over 10 years, but remember it being a challanging course.

By the flood of responses I'm starting to wonder if anyone shows up for this event.

hey Frizzle...
I had to register back on board.........sorry for the delay.

This event is lightly attended. It is tightly run with more ams than pros, Bob Lewis ran the old Florida Triple Crown, which used to be pretty big.

But you have to go for the course(s)!! GORDONBarnett is now two 18-hole courses. The original is tough from the long tees, a few holes opened up from the last storm season. The new course offers a nice variety with hills(if you live in FLA) and some very cool shots near water plus wind can be gusty. Basketball courts, golf practice cages, and John E McCray will most likely be there to defend so there will be some not-so-light competition.

hope to see you down

Thanks for the reply. I also found that the preregistration form is up on one of the FL websites now. I'll get my entry in soon.

I'll probably register as MPM and see what happens. Up here our Master's field is typically as big or bigger than the Open field. If there's not enough Masters I imagine I can always shoot Open.
