I haven't played in an ice bowl, but was thinking of playing in one of the local ones. Are ICE Bowls typically sanctioned events (ie will I get points for playing in it etc.)? I haven't seen any ice bowls listed on the 'PDGA Tour' link so I am assuming these events are just set up by local clubs.

No, not sanctioned, ran by local clubs. Atleast thats how it is in Northern Mexico.

Ice bowls are to have a good time and raise money and food for your local area Food Bank...sanctioning these would take away from the charity and the good times :o

Some of them are sanctioned in order to get the great deal on the insurance that many parks require in order to get a permit.
I think the PDGA waives the sanctioning fees or something for Ice Bowls sicne they are charity events. Anyone know for sure?
