I bet if you check previous threads you'll find a lot of comments on the tracker. I personally really like the Z-trackers. I've been using them for low ceiling accurate drives... The best compliment I can give it is that it is very easy to control.

Did you order from Sunking J? I got a few trackers I can let go of. Also I got a black challenger you may want too.

ZTrackers are a must have. nice head/crosswind driver. low enough profile to be fast. pretty stable but can still be finessed. for me its in the same general area as the ZTalon, which it replaced in my bag.

I personally found them to be somewhat worthless in headwinds. My Z-Tracker(s) fly almost identically to my Z-Wildcats but 5% shorter in overall distance. A little too redundant for my bag.
I used to throw Talons quite a bit until the Z Avenger came into being. Talons, for me, handled headwinds better than Trackers.
To each their own though. They are nice discs.

I have yet to throw them. There is no demand around here for them so our local vendor doesn't stock them.
They have been described to me as being a faster longer Buzzz. But to me that seems like it would be just an XS or an XL, which I throw an XL for straight low ceiling, tailwind shots less than 400ft. So since I have 7 XL's to spare, the need to try the Tracker hasn't come across me.

yes, i ordered x trackers from mike, i am still interested in the ones you have, is the black challenger Hard?
are your trackers Z or X

Trackers are Z
I'm not sure if the challenger is hard or not. I'll check when I get home.

I really didn't like the ones I had and I think I sold almost all of them. I would stick with an X avenger for striaght shots if you like Discraft.

what was wrong with them?
Im not looking for a Max range driver. Just something in the 300-350 range. In between my Buzzz, and Crush. I have been using the Xs. Just want some thing faster

The tracker is slower then an XS but the trackers I had were very inconsistant and I only used them for a couple of days because of this.

Tracker is more overstable and faster than an XS.
I'm between the Z-XS and an X Cyclone for my fairway drivers. I found that the Tracker was just too overstable for me at shorter distances.

Maybe more overstable but definitely not faster.

Well ... like most discs ... some like it, some dont.
I have had a lot of success with the Z Tracker. I find it's just as long as some of my other drivers, depending on conditions. But the thing I like about is I can control it. It's also good for long, low ceiling shots in the woods ... I can park this baby. I like it better than my Sidewinder for these shots because it doesn't climb, doesn't skip as much, and stays near the basket, if not in it.
One other thing I like about it is the rim. I throw two rim depths, buzz/wasp/ comet and tracker/avenger/preditor most of the time. The only other rim I throw is the flick for special shots, and my banger GT.

As a mainly TeeBird thrower, I don't carry the Z-Tracker in my bag. I find it redundant with my CE TL and Star TeeBird, perhaps being just a little faster and more stable.
Mine is 173g and in great condition...anyone want to trade for a lighter one???

is the tracker the same rim width as the avenger? i figured it was narrower. how does the tracker compare to the x and z avengers?
Boneman
Jan 04 2006, 06:28 PM
Tracker rim is about 1/16" less than the Avenger. Tracker is less stable than X Avenger, and much less stable than a Z Avenger. Tracker is 3 LSS, Avenger is 3.5 LSS. Both are -0.5 HSS and the tracker is 4 PWR, the Avenger 5 PWR, so it's easier to throw.

Would it be said that the tracker is a fairway driver as opposed to a distance driver ?
EricJKopit
Jan 05 2006, 06:05 PM
No, I would definitely classify as a distance driver, not a fairway driver. A little faster and more stable than a TeeBird, probably a bit longer on average too.

Considering the Teebird is the 2nd longest disc on the market I am going to say BS. :o

Defend your statement, especially since I have three discs in my bag which are longer then a Teebird. Teebird is a great disc, but not the second longest on the market.

Teebird's not even 5th or 6th longest on the market.. The Teebird is the Best driver ever made, but that doesn't make it long...
Everything made after the Teebird is just about longer than it although not nearly as good. (flash/orc/crush/beast/starfire/etc)

The avenger is a good disc....easier to control than some of the ones you(^) just listed, and it is longer than a T-bird

The TeeBird still holds the silver medal in distance records is where I think he was going with that.

Teebird info ... whatever (it's a great disc ... but it has been around forever and everyone who reads threads in this forum knows it). This is a thread about the Tracker.
I think the tracker is a great disc. I played in an Ice Bowl yesterday, and one of the toughest holes on the course is a long, low ceiling, 80% straight to left tunnel hole, about 250 ft. I sent the Tracker on the hunt for the basket and ticked the chains for a short easy bird. I have NEVER been able to get a Teebird down that line and so close to the basket. So yeah, everyone knows the Teebird is a great disc ... but in this thread, my feedback on the Tracker is it ROCKS.

I like the Z-Tracker. I haven't liked any of the non-Z Discraft drivers since the initial release of the X-Xtra.
Easy straight throws -- doesn't take a lot to make it go.
The other handy thing about is long fore-hands. Seems odd since it's not way overstable but it really flys nicely. It's not a Z-Predator that just dives right -- stays up for a while and fades softly right.

I've got some first release X-Xtra's, and a STACK of elite-early run Xtra's if you need any.
