I'm travelling to Philly sometime in the spring. I'll be scheduling my trip around a big tourney in March/April.

I would like to know what are some of the cool courses around the Philly area (not very far from...gotta stay close). As well I would really like to play in a tournament out there, but didn't see many listed on the pdga tour site.

What's going on in the area around then?!? Let me know...

Tyler state park is less than an hour away i think and it is a great course. Sedgley woods is also located in Philadelphia and gets a lot of play but it is pretty short.

You mentioned you would be in the area March/April. The 1st PDGA tourny in the MADC region is May 20-21, Breeze & Treeze in Delaware.
Feel free to take a look at the MADC Schedule (http://www.madisc.org/showevents.php), it lists the tournaments around NY, NJ, PA, DE, MD.

The disc scene is happening as any other area, not many high tiered events due to scheduling nigtmares the last few years. The local scene is outstanding as is the diversity of courses, MADC has more "golf" courses than pitch n putt.
