I throw Champ Sidewinders for rollers.
I'm going to grab a couple Star SW's very soon, just wondering if anybody has thrown/rolled them yet.

I haven't used them but they can't be any worse than the Champ ones. :D

Oh, thanks Matt.
No problem. The plastic isn't bad but the disc just isn't the most consistant mold ever. The RR is probably a better disc from what I have seen.

I heard you matt it's like they ran it in a gateway mold or something :D

Actually Gateway discs are very coinsistant. Unfortunantly due to the nose angle you must throw them at they are consistantly overstable for most people. :D

Threw my Starwinder for the first time up here in Michigan. It was wet and 3 inches of snow however the grip on these bad boys was awesome! Just a tad more overstable than the champion. Got a place in my bag for sure.
Now listen up discraft!!!! Start producing similar plastic. Otherwise my whole bag will be innova. :(

The Star Sidewinder is not as high speed understable as the Champion. If thrown for air shots, the Star doesn't fade left as much as the Champ at the end of its flight.

No i mean i like the champion plastic better than both of those i can never find a good grip on the pro plastic and the star seems like it is right there with the pro plastic

They do feel very similiar.

The starwinder's flight pattern to me seems like that of a brand new valk...but with a bit less low speed fade.

I'm able to throw the Star Sidewinder plastic when its wet outside , better than the Champion plastic. That's just me though. Star plastic has good grip when its wet. You should remove wet grass and mud from the rim of the disc before throwing though !!!!! /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I've thrown a champion Sidewinders a few times from other people bags, but I really enjoy my Red max weight Starwinder... I use it mostly for turnover drives, but I also use it for open Hyzerflip distance shots.... They are not as understable as the champions ones(it seems), but they fit in my bag quite well. I don't like them as rollers though. I'd rather throw a CE valk.

so is this star plastic as domey as the pro? or does it cool outside the mold with a flatter top? thanks

There is (to my knowledge) no Pro Sidewinder, but my STAR Teebirds are MUCH domier than Champion (on a par with Pro). My $0.02.

I threw the Starwinder and they are definetly more stable than the champ....for some reason they seem faster too.
I like em', good job Innova.

I have not thrown a starwinder yet, but now have two of the star teebirds in my bag and I love them. They are much faster than the champion ones I have and they are just as durable. I have pelted them off of several trees early in my drive and it hasn't changed the flight characteristics at all. Great Disc!!

I've got a chance to throw the star sidewinder, and I love it! It flips up flat with a small amount of hyzer (also due to my weenie arm), and it holds some beatiful hyzers. It's very fast, and I've hit some trees off the teebox, and it's got no damage so far!

They surprise me. I threw it past my wraiths (both pro and star) yesterday by 10-15 feet. If you can get it up high and flipped over a bit, fuhgeddaboudit. It's the most surprising Star disc I've got. I really like the Wraith but it did what I expected. The Starwinder did what I did not expect... in a good way. It flies a mile!

I'm really suprised with my Star Sidewinder as well. I've heard they are more stable than the champion versions and I hope so because mine isn't nearly as flippy as I originaly wanted it to be.. I wanted it as a nice roller discs, but instead it's my hyzerflip/turnover driver and it's working very well for me..
I threw one of my longest drives this year with it too.
-Scott Lewis
p.s. I love the Star Teebirds as well. They are stable and they seem to glide a little mroe than my 11x birds do.

Surprised and at least once shocked by it. Set a new personal CTP on #17 Ramcat big, sweeping uphill anhyzer by over throwing the pin, hitting a rock and bouncing back about twenty feet to within five feet of the pin. Amazing for my pitiful little arm. Yellow, 150g, StarWinder. (that CTP previously held by a beat to snot 155g Orion, come on QO's)

Oh yeah, that still leaves High Point's Jake L. as the only person to draw metal on that hole. What did you throw on that one Jake?

Just got one, right inbetween the pro and cfr (as it should be) in flight and just as long...taken some nice shots of hard trees and nothing really happened.
I haven't really had a good time to test it though, I can't keep my star stingray out of my hand. That baby is cherry!!!! :D

D-Buzzz.
funny thing is Bryant threw after me, and his shot was about a foot from the pin. Mine was 20+ feet past the basket. :D
