I am working on a way to link a local course handicap to your PDGA rating. Im trying it out on a course in my area. First, I need to determine the course WCP, using the online course calculator (is that up to date with the latest ratings formulas?). The problem is that the WCP will be what a 1000 rated golfer 'should' average...but the local course pros have a 'zero' handicap(based on their unique handicap calculations) and are rated around 960. I figure that either the 'gold standard' for the handicap calculations needs to be the WCP for the course, OR that difference (40 ratings points) needs to be taken into account a different way. Has anyone done anything like this before? If Chuck Kennedy is out there...I would appreciate his take on my idea.
