I'll leave it up to Vinnie & crew to post more info. :)

Teaming up with Carl "Mad Dog" Meeks this year. We were going to play advanced, but decided to play pro master, so Round Rock here we come. Of course, with my player rating having dropped to 880, I could play intermediate, but I can't see that being all that much fun. I haven't played the Rock since Texas 10 in '01. I'm due.

Vinnie, ya out there? I'm looking forward to seeing the info, so I can plan for it. Do I seem a little anxious? I am. I'm feeling the pull of the disc again. :)

What about that new Williamson County course? Will it be open? If so, how about it and the Rock, or better yet, how about it and Rivery? :p

HFDS184
Dec 28 2005, 12:06 PM
Actually, I'd prefer to play it all at the Rock, since I haven't played there since 2001, but the new Manor course would be cool. I hear it's gonna be a pretty nice one. But then again, I've never played Rivery.

will this be like years past and include rivery and old settlers!! will there be a trophy only option ,for the ams who do not want to play state am dubs, VINNIE???? good way to add to the pro purse , and by looking at the past years attendance , why Not???

Jan 03 2006, 02:28 PM

vinnie
Jan 11 2006, 01:04 PM
The pro weekend will be held on Rivery and Old Settlers.
It will not be sancationed( no pdga advantages)
So play pro it will not count against you with the P.D.G.A
We will have a master, open men and would love to have a open women's division.
There will be added money and everyone knows I like giving trophies. So join me in naming the Texas Double Champions on March 11 & 12

No just scared of having to find another partner right before the event if it is sanctioned. BTW Vinnie could just say NO beer during the rounds. All the normal rules would be followed and MORE $$$ would be in the pot without fees taken out.

Don't bet on it. A lot of pros won't play an unsanctioned event. Just look at El Chile bouncin' up and down there. :D

the_kid
Jan 20 2006, 06:33 PM
But he will still play. I don't know of many pros that would change there mind on this event being TX state dubs if it was sanctioned or not. You don't get a rating bonuses or anything. All you get is points(nothing) and money reported the the pdga.

bigbadude

I was NOT gonna play if this tournament was not sancationed Now who's skeered of Roberts and Perez? Are you skeered of us Ware? :D

james_mccaine
Jan 23 2006, 10:43 AM
I still don't know why you care if it is sanctioned. I can't think of any pros, other than you of course, who would boycott the tournament if it was not sanctioned. And, if being unsanctioned meant that a couple more teams would play, and Chris could carry his cooler ;), then why not let it be unsanctioned.

At any rate, AK and I will be playing masters, so I am scared of the open teams, but certainly not scared of the masters. :p

bigbadude
Jan 23 2006, 10:54 AM
James why are you SO AGANIST it being sancationed and McCaine and AK will be a good team as well. ;)

Jan 23 2006, 11:09 AM
Jerry thanks for the sancationing fee. At least it will not come out my pocket.
We had our big cash sponsor pull out for this years dubs event. So we need cash sponsors. WHO can help?

james_mccaine
Jan 23 2006, 11:24 AM
I don't care either way. Anyways, I trust Vinnie will make the correct decision. That is what we pay him the big bucks for. ;)

Rivery map:

Hole 1 is old # 4.
Hole 2 is old # 5.
Hole 3 is old # 6.
Hole 4 is old # 7
# 5 than walk down the road past the gate on your left and to the right will be tee # 5. to get to hole
# 6 Than you will walk around under the bridge to your left. Keep going until you see some flags up on the hill side by the sidewalk. This is a anhyzer past the big trees. Than walk to your left into the woods and the tee for # 7 will be on the right
#7 is straight ahead. Than walk down and to your left a little and you will see #8 tee box.
#8 is a slow curve to your left. Than walk back towards the sidewalk and you should see tee # 9
#9 straight hole than walk back towards the sidewalk again for tee #10
#10 is a straight up hill shot towards the big rocks. (Very cool hole) walk to your right after you play this hole down the path.
#11 is a little short hole back towards the big rocks. Here you will need to go back to the sidewalk and walk a pretty good ways than you will cut back into the woods on your right.
#12 long tight hole you can see the basket on this hole as you cut back into the woods towards the tee box. Than you will walk back out to the sidewalk and follow it back under the bridge and you will see hole # 13.
#13 dog left left by a huge picnic table. Go to your left across the sidewalk and down the little hill towards old # 11.
#14 old # 11s basket with the tee moved farther back. Than go back to the sidewalk and walk down 30 feet or so and cut into the woods on your right. Kinda of like if you are heading back to old # 10s basket and to the left you will see #15 plays to old # 8s basket. Than walk back to the left of old #10s tee box and you will see New tee # 16
#16 plays up to old # 14s basket
#17 is old # 15 than walk back past the playground to old # 17s tee.
#18 is old # 17

This is not your father's Rivery ;) This new layout explores more beautiful land amongst the San Gabriel River for some new shots and, oh yeah and remains one of Texas' most wooded courses. It takes a lot of hard work to make changes to any course. There is still more to be done, but it will happen. See you all at doubles.
Like Ware said, you are gonna want to see this one ahead of time :D

Congrats to the skinny ethiopian boy and the legendary mountain animal. Y'all put a nice donkey whippin on the field.
