Well.........it was Christmas Eve, I wanted to be playing at Bass, but my family obligations said otherwise. There's always next Saturday.
As for my partner, I think you are talking out your "hello" as we are playing Snow Farm that weekend, and why would she want to go to RR and then not be able to take the money if she cashed? Remember, she still wants to go to Tulsa last time I checked.
So, go throw some smack somewhere else, young man! Cause your dog doesn't hunt in these here woods. :D

Coda?!? Give respect where it is due...Did you forget Billy Lund broke his own state distance record this year? CODA WAS THERE. Whoever you got I'll put my $$$ on Billy to outdrive him on flat land.

Take a chill pill :DI am very aware that Billy broke his state record! Do you think that I would make a comment like that without know that my homestate breeds distance champions?
Prelim talks about a very good team of Oklahoma boys, one with an Am Distance title and the other who will win in Tulsa, are in progress.

OKOKOK, didn't mean to come across agitated..But I gotta back my boy up, next year Billy could break 700, no joke. Coda can BOMB but he can't throw as far as Billy can right now.
I'll be at AM world dubs in 06, I'm skipping The Memorial just to go play it. Billy said he might go also.
See ya there Bolstead, you my boy blue!!

Young Grasshopper - I only lost one match, which isn't bad for playing like dog poo and playing all courses BLIND.
That match with Robbie was everything you could have expected between us. Huge birdies, huge pressure putts (including my 50-footer to save the match and Robbies jump putt from another county to push the 7th hole), and a push on the last hole :D
My TX State Dubs Prediction - Jeff O and Jerald Locke will finish 2nd for the ump-teenth year in a row.

what is the payout structure of this event? 100%?? pick your own?? etc. etc.?? trophies ?? players packs?? if so what's going to be in the players packs?? etc. etc..any added payout?? how much??
gordonmk
Feb 03 2006, 08:24 PM
The payout will be based on the new 2006 pdga tables for B tier tournaments. The prize packages will already be made up, but there will be a chance to swap stuff out at the end. Because it is B Tier tournament, there will be a player's package worth at least $10, and it will be a disc. and Maybe more ??? Randon has gone over the list of discs he has ordered, but I can't remember offhand what they are :o.
There will be trophies, but I'm not sure what kind. Added payout will depend on the amount of sponsorship received (as will potential larger player's packages). But remember this is also a charity event, so some sponsor money might end up there too.
Always a fun time at the Snow Farm, and always lots of teams (both flights are usually full, or at least close to full).

Absolutely!
I will be missing Queen Dee, but as partners go, I"m sure I'm one lucky golfer!
Somehow, March should be one of those "priceless" months.
Start with The Moffitt Show, then two weeks of doubles with a great partner at Snow Farm & Circle R, and then finish out the month at Moody's for the Red Rock Show. Now, that's what I call fun.

Closed Sat Mar. 4, I'll be playing the Moffit Show. On Sunday Mar. 5th I might play Eberly Ranch in Chappell Hill. The course that Mr. Ed has designed is very challenging. So, Mr. Ed whats the word? Other wise the course will be open on Sunday Mar. 5th. Week Mar 6-12, Yikes it gonna be crazy, yee haa.

Sorry to hear about your partner Mike. I know how it feels. And I appreciate Gordon looking out for us; but seeing as the tourney falls on my wifes birthday; I decided Dan getting hurt and not being able to compete was a sign. A sign that I should stay home and celebrate a birthday. Therefore, I regretfully admit that neither of the 2005 Texas State adv. master dub. champions will be in attendence.

At the risk of hijacking this thread, I would like it to be known that I will have a limited supply of the 2006 Texas States Discs and tee shirts available for sale with me in Round Top.
The fund-raiser discs are $25 and the regular tee shirts are $15. Add $2 for XXL and the sleeveless shirts. This year's logo really rocks! Check em out at the scoring central location in the dog house.

From Randon:
We are in a burn ban. The only fire you can have is in your contained pit. I problably won't light the big bon fire this weekend. It depends on if we get any rain and it can't be to windy. I suggest that everyone bring extra h2o to help control any possible fires caused by your BBQ Pits.

The courses at are in better condition now at ( Circle R ). You can see all the efforts to prepare for the Pros next weekend. The turf is starting to show more green than brown. Drought conditions in Central Texas has completely eliminated any water on the courses but, all it would take is a good gully washer to change that. Forecast are showing rain chances by mid week and even more for the weekend. Maybe the Pros will see some water flowing ???

Anyways, I had another incredable disc golf experience and shaved off nine strokes from my previous rounds. I'll be making atleast one more trip out there (maybe two) before the tournament. Unfortunatly, I will not be releasing any additional information about secrets I am learning under the public information act. Good luck to anyone not practicing these beautifully designed and best maintained courses anywhere in this galaxy. You'll need it !

Just heard some VERY BAD NEWS!!!
Apparently last night while staff members were cleaning up the Snow Farm after the tournament, a piece of bad wiring up at the deck house sparked, igniting a fire which burned down at least the deck house...and some other buildings up there.
All of Randon's belongs were in the deck house! Most all of it is lost.
I will start up a collection to see if we can't help Randon out through these difficult times. Wow! Please send out all of the good vibrations and Karma that you can.
More details when I have them.

Results are posted under Texas State Doubles Am Results. (http://www.pdga.com/tournament/tournament_results.php?TournID=5782)
Please note that although it shows round ratings, they are NOT very accurate or valid. They based off from the PDGA number of the first player listed on my registration list, so there is no rhyme or reason to whom got listed first. I thought it interesting to note however that there were no 1,000 rated rounds out there even in Best Disc! Huh?
I set the par values of the 18 hole layouts to 56. (The 1000 foot hole #10 got the only par value above a 3.)

On the fire: it was actually not the deckhouse (where Randon lives), but intead it was the other buildings in that fenced-in yard. The 'Honeymoone Suite" is where it is believed to have started (a great one-room cabin, right next to the bathroom and shower - which I assume also burned). It then spread to the 'Headquarters' cabin just next to it. This is where Randon used to live a few years ago before moving over to the deckhouse. It is also where I sleep during the tournament, and Roger and Stephanie Allen usually are there too. It was a beautiful one bedroom cabin with a full bathroom and a kitchenette and a good size living room.
There were a number of antiques and family heirlooms in both cabins, plus lots of Randon's personal stuff, including many of his collectible discs. It is a huge loss for him, both materially and especially emotionally. Insurance can't replace memories, photos, pieces of your family history.
Please keep Randon in your thoughts and hearts. He is going to be heading through a very rough time.
Oh... and it happened about 1 am Sunday night. There were two people sleeping in the HQ cabin. Luckily, Clint Hilligiest noticed the fire, rushed in and woke them up, and they all got out safely.
From Advanced Champion to Life-Saving Hero, all in one day. Way to go Clint!!! :)
Also, Roberto (who, along with his friend Alexis, did all the cooking for the staff all weekend) was still at the ranch and all his stuff was in the Honeymoon cabin. He was out partying at the campsites with Randon, Sheldon and others, so he wasn't hurt, but all his stuff went poof.
What a horrible way to end such a good weekend :(
Heath and I were in the honeymoon suite when the other cabin was on fire. Clint woke us and the fire was horrible. I took pictures but I think Randon needs to take care of imforming people about it.
All of us that stayed Sunday nite want to get a fundraiser going for Randon and get a clean up crew and build Randon some new cabins - he's heartbroken
As soon as Randon is finished with the fire dept. we should get a crew together <font color="pink"> </font>

Scores are now up on the pdga site (well, actually Larry had them up a few days ago, so I'm sorry for the delay in letting everyone know). The link is:
http://pdga.com/schedule/event.php?TournID=5782
It isn't really set up for doubles, so I think the rating by the team is just the rating of the first player. Also, I'm not at all sure about the round ratings.

The doubles listing should be corrected when the official results are posted. I should have it fixed for unofficial events before next year.

Stevo and I have talked with Randon. He would like to express to everyone his appreciation for their concern and offers of help!
Regarding donations, he is touched by the generosity, but he does not wish anyone to send money or to set up any fund or fundraiser. He said that if you really want to give something, just give it to your favorite charity in his name.
Regarding offers of help at the farm. He will need some, but he isn't sure when, doing what, or how much. He probably won't know this until later, after more evaluation is done. What he'd like to do is have people who are interested and willing to help out send me their contact info (by email to gordon@ventbird.com or by PM - include name, phone #, and email address). I'll compile a list to give to him so that when he is ready for help, he can contact folks directly.
Thanks!

Mar 17 2006, 11:34 AM
I wasn't harping about that, I just checked the page that displays unofficial scores, and there is nothing there to display a doubles event. The page that displays official results does have special formatting for doubles events.
Once Randon is ready, maybe he can have a "cabin raising" tournament on Sunday. Entry is the man hours spent on the buildings Saturday.

I talked to Randon yesterday, and some things have kind of changed. His insurance company is being, well... an insurance company, and he is worried that they might not follow through on their coverage.
He has been very touched by all the offers of help, both physically at the Snow Farm and financially through donations and fundraisers. These have come in from folks not only here in Central Texas, but from other states as well. He is really grateful that people want to help.
If anyone would like to hold a fundraiser for him and the Snow Farm, or take up collections, he would be delighted.
If anyone wants to make a direct cash contribution, he would gratefully accept it.
All contributions can be sent directly to him, or you can send them to me and I'll make sure he gets them. If you have any questions, you can call him at (979) 278-3536 or (979) 451-2069.
Checks should be payable to Randon Dillingham. You can send them to:

And speaking of help needed at the Snow Farm, he needs some this Saturday (March 25th).
He needs a couple of people with pickup trucks, and a few more people (that don't necessarily have trucks) to help with removing a bunch of the burned up debris.
If you have a truck and want to help, he wants you to know that the bed of your truck could/will get very dirty and nasty from the rubble.
If you can help, please call him on his cell phone at (979) 451-2069.
He would like to start around 8 or 9 in the morning on Saturday. He'll need help loading stuff into the back of trucks and into trashcans too, in order to take it all to the dump (which is open on sat. and will accept trash/debris from early morning through mid-afternoon).
Please bring: shovels, trash cans, and of course good work gloves.
If you don't want to drive out there sat. morning, check with him about staying over friday night; camping or maybe staying in the Doghouse.
And there is bound to be some fun golf following all the labor. :D
Thanks!
