I am tagging along with my wife for her business trip on Feb.23-26, its my birthday present. I was wondering what are some of the must play courses, any events around the time I will be there. Any info at all would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.

The course is pretty fun and if I remember correctly its pretty close to the Airport :D

My birthday is on the 23rd and I will hopefully be attending this event as well :D

Play at Sunset Park. Close to the Strip and well marked. Don't wait to sign up for the Gentleman's if you plan on playing, they always turn players away each year.

Sunset Park (http://www.pdga.com/course/courses_by_city.php?id=563) <-- this is the one to play, and where most of the locals play all the time. It is easy to get to from the strip and you can even see it from your airplane if you are on the right side of the plane. (the course is on the strip side of the airport) Every time I have ever played out there I have met some cool people. I have never needed to call a cab back to my motel, I have always been able to bum a ride.

Peccole Ranch (http://www.pdga.com/course/courses_by_city.php?id=562) <-- This is is a private course, you will need to find a local who can play with you to keep from getting in trouble. I have yet to play this one.

Mountain Creek (http://www.pdga.com/course/courses_by_city.php?id=1158) <-- a little drive from downtown and not really worth it. Short course with little to no trees. The blind holes are around the rec center.

Freedom Park (http://www.pdga.com/course/courses_by_city.php?id=561) <-- I was able to figurer out the course layout when I was there. It was not marked last time I heard anything about the course. From what I remember (it was several years ago) It was a decent course with a few good holes. It is not playable on good weather days as the park fills with other park users. (this is true for Sunset too, but disc golf has it's area and a lot of the locals know it)

Mt Crest has been redesigned, still short but a lot of OB. Need good touch.

Peccole is a great course. Need to play early.

Freedom, must have a local. Need to play before 11 on the weekends.

Anthem, do waste your time.

Sunset is easiest to follow and now has 24 pins.

Cool, I played it right after it was installed. If I ever make it back to Vegas I will try to make it out there again. (I rented a PT cruzer the time I drove out there)

I am not going to Pizza Expo this year, so maybe next year.

What happened to the Reno NV course, did it get pulled??? I though they had a 9 holer

BTW, I played the course near downtown (the one where the original basket for Sunset park came from) This was when I was working for Mr. Jim in 92 or 93.

I took a bus to the downtown strip bus terminal and walked about a mile from there.

While I was playing, a guy showed up with 3 or 4 discs and we played a few rounds together (trying to avoid the bums sleeping all over the park) The guy was cool enough to give me a ride back to the Mirage hotel where I was staying.

I'm not sure why Anthem is not listed. This is a short 9 hole course out in Henderson. The Mach III baskets are set very low, for kids. Play it backwards basket to basket is fun.

The old course downtown was Fantasy. That course was moved to Freedom Park. Fantasy was a great course, except for the bums.

We're trying to get another course installed at the old Craig Ranch ball course that the city is making a park out of. There's another new course going in way South of the Strip.

I want to play in the 3 day tournament but spending 3 out of 4 days in Vegas playing disc golf is not my wifes idea of a good time. O well I tryed. I am going to play disc golf at as many courses as I can though! Thanks for all the info!

yeah... but it's tee times ....one round each dayof 24 holes....still plenty of time for wifely things to do!

Does the tournament start on Friday and going thru Sunday? That would be the problem I am not sure when we leave on Sunday usually take a while to finish on the last day! Believe me if there is a way I would play!

They'll assign tee times for each of the 3 days. You should finish up at a decent hour on Sunday.

Yes I figured that but then they will have to tally up the scores and then threes the awards ceremony! So maybe if I get a flight around ten at night!

if you are flying back to dallas/ft worth you'll have no problem getting a later flight....especially on american...
book now and get the best rates and times you want!!

even if you start in the last group(leader card of open) you would still be done somewhere around 4 ish....

go and you won't regret it!!
