I still have 2 1st runs and they rule. I got a new one and it seemed too overstable for what I use it for.

I think of it as a Valkyrie and TL combined. I can throw it as an accurate fairway driver (TL) and a great understable driver/roller (Valk).

Just curious if anyone else out there still throws these.

P.S.-- PM me if you have some and want to trade. ;)

I used to throw these when they 1st came out and I might have some more. Are you going to be at Tyler? I can probably bring you some if you want.

I throw 'em for turnover or shorter flex shots. Sometimes trown as a forehand roller too. None to get rid of though.

I was gonna play Tyler but I tried out the courses on Monday and I hated them. I am out on that tournament.

What's wrong with the courses?

There are 2 courses and they both use holes from the original course. The easier course uses 12 holes from the original is and it kind of a typical short Texas course. A few holes are nice but most are wide open Roc shots.

The other course has more new holes and is better. The first 2 holes are really long (Par 4 and 5, respectively) and if some tree branches were trimmed a little, they would be great. They cut 3 (I think) holes in the thick woods. There are some really cool trees there but the holes are just silly. Way too lucky. The gaps are very tight and don't give you a realistic chance to throw a good shot. You have to hit the gap AND be really lucky.

There are 2 teepads on all 36 holes. However, most of the long teepads don't offer anything to the hole. They are just 20-60 ft. longer than the short but still the same shot. There are some holes that change but a lot don't.

I would say I liked about 10 of the 36 holes out there. If you do play, let me know what you think. Everyone has their own opinion.

Hey Kid, sounds a lot like several holes at the Coyote course at Cedar Hill, don't ya think? :D

Oh yeah, and I have two older Z Wildcats I'll trade ya... not sure they're 1st run, but they're at least two years old, and still in good shape.

You blaspheme! Cedar Hills is my sanctuary! :D

On a serious note, the most open hole in Cedar Hill has 10x the amount of trees as a lot of the holes on the easy course in Tyler.

But I need to stop talking trash. I am sure a lot of people worked hard on those courses. Just because I don't think it was designed very well, I don't want to cause others to not support their events.

Agreed the 1st runs were the best.
I tried to bribe Keith to run some more...
He said they were a mistake and more stable than they intended.
He said the try the Talon.
I tried the Talon and it never fit the spot the first run Z's fit.
They were very consistent and predictable no matter what what wind direction you threw them in.

Do I have some yes.
To insure they are the 1st runs they would be
the Red Z USDGC ghost stamp ones.
I have a few more that were non USDGC that are a little less stable but still are out of the first run in the Red Z plastic
I value them roughly in the $25 range.
Hey isn't that the range of your roc's you gave up. :o
Send me a PM and we can work out a trade for a maybe a SB Roc or something like that. ;) :D

Yeppers. I have an orange 1st run that can ROLL a country mile. Also great for tailwind drives, or dramatic turnover shots.

Of course you love them. It's in the Predator family.

I threw them when they first came out but then I found the Crush to give me a little more control and reliability. Neither is a better disc; the Crush just works better for me. I think they are still my brother Jon's go-to driver. I have not noticed any differences between earlier and more recent production runs with this disc. I'm 90% sure I have some of this year's run in stock if you are having any problem finding them where you live in the color and weight you like.

I LIVE by my clear Z-Wildcats. For some reason most clear ones are more stable and more durable than anything w/ color (for me). New ones ARE different. Both Keith and Jim told me so. This issue is being addressed, probably, as we speak. Runs have varied though. My 2004 World's are WAY understable, whereas my 2004 Cross Canyon's are WAY overstable. The only thing that comes close for me are CE Valk's, and I try not to throw Innova. Marshall Street has some nice clears with "Butch" on them. All of these that I have gotten lean towards understable.
